Name is two words[edit]

See [1] for a reference. --Rajah 03:55, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Have reverted the edits by Flavia03 as it destroyed a lot of the good content already, introduced extremely poor style, and content that looks very much like a cut and paste copyvio (with ref numbers still in place!). See the diff here, maybe some of it is salvageable [2], though none of it seems to be referenced. Cheers Lethaniol 00:57, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Need article on tomato with Arctic flounder gene[edit]

Need an article on the GE tomato with an anti-freezing gene inserted from an Arctic flounder, produced by the DNA Plant Technology Corp.. Badagnani (talk) 19:33, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reference to broken DOI[edit]

A reference was recently added to this article using the Cite DOI template. The citation bot tried to expand the citation, but could not access the specified DOI. Please check that the DOI doi:10.3733/ca.v054n04p6 has been correctly entered. If the DOI is correct, it is possible that it has not yet been entered into the CrossRef database. Please complete the reference by hand here. The script that left this message was unable to track down the user who added the citation; it may be prudent to alert them to this message. I-SIS[edit]

User:THC Loadee has repeatedly inserted this information into the article. Myself and two anon IPs have removed the information as it contradicts every other source in the article and doesn't make sense. The article should present a neutral view of the Flavr Savr and should not be either pro or anti GM. After looking at I-SIS' about us page I'm not sure whether it should be considered a reliable source, in particular I'm not certain that they have a "reputation for fact-checking and accuracy" as from what I can tell the articles are not peer reviewed. When many other sources say that the FDA approved it as safe, we can only assume that this is correct. When an organisation with such an anti-GM stance as I-SIS says the opposite we should probably assume that they are incorrect. If you disagree with me then feel free to post at Wikipedia:Fringe theories/Noticeboard or at Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard. Smartse (talk) 22:28, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The bot did not fix the deadlinks. I fixed them. Then I deleted them because they are likely not WP:RS/WP:NPOV. "Access Excellence" was a program created [1][2] by Genentech (a pioneer in genetic engineering regarding Humulin). --David Tornheim (talk) 00:38, 27 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

History[edit]

It's now almost 30 years since the Flavr Savr came about. It would be useful to mention the context and impact it had, as well as where it was sold (if it was sold). For instance, I never saw it sold anywhere actually, but perhaps in other areas it was more successful. The article should mention the ~impact it did, at the least as a small-ish paragraph. 2A02:8388:1604:F600:0:0:0:4 (talk) 11:22, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It was sold. Says so right in the article. It also says it was rejected in the marketplace and failed to appeal to customers. I'm not sure why you say it wasn't sold. People just didn't want it. 73.6.96.168 (talk) 15:29, 1 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
