Gizzard shad[edit]

Someone mare adept than I should initiate an article on "Gizzard shad" An excellent article(but overlong) "description of the gizzard shad", exists as a reference (non copyright, published by the Maryland dept of fisheries) in the article "gizzard". Don 16:06, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Animals with gizzards[edit]

The Tamandua page says that tamanduas have gizzards, and that thing's a mammal, not a bird, reptile, dinosaur, fish or invertebrate. So ... who's right?

If all birds have gizzards, why are emus, turkeys and chickens specifically mentioned?

"Eating Gizzards" Incongruous Statement[edit]

The article states: "Grilled chicken gizzards are sold as street food in South Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan, Philippines, Haiti, and throughout Southeast Asia." Conspicuously, Haiti is the only country in this list not located in Asia. I think it would sound more logical and authoritative to drop Haiti from the list, or if noteworthy to format the sentence differently. For example: Grilled chicken gizzards are sold as street food in South Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan, Philippines, and throughout Southeast Asia, as well as Haiti, the United States and other Western nations. --75.162.56.217 (talk) 19:59, 28 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 18 December 2015[edit]

This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request.

The page reads, " The birds that do, employ the following method". There should not be a comma between subject and verb. "The birds that do" is the subject. "Employ" is the verb. English does not allow a comma between subject and verb in this way. Compare with, for example, "She, ran." Wikipedia would not let me make this correction myself. Evidently there was a mass attack on the "Gizzard" page and they had to secure it. That's nonsense of course. Obviously, Wikipedia just isn't what it claims to be. Koilin[edit]

This term attracted my attention, both the "carbohydrate-protein complex" description, and the red non-functional link. So I did a bit of digging.
