Does it really make any sense to include both the Nepali food and the dance hall in the same article? It's not as if the dance hall were named after the food. 192.4.0.12 (talk) 23:50, 5 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Almost an edit war?[edit]

There seems to be a little bit of ethnic dispute in the recent edits. Should we talk about it and sort this out?

  • At 2023-12-24T14:00:13, Koikirat started with a big edit changing Limbu people to Kirati people, removing thegrunduk source, and adding a block of legend.
  • At 2023-12-24T14:27:39, IP editor 103.166.101.84 reverted the infobox change but left the rest alone.
  • At 2023-12-24T17:09:32, Koikirat removed a kathmandupost source. This was promptly reverted by Wracking.
  • At 2023-12-25T05:16:36, Koikirat reverted the change from the IP editor.

The later insertion by 2001:df6:2380:2bc9:3067:57ab:b280:ac99 is unrelated to this conflict.

If I am not mistaken, "Limbu" seems to be a subset of "Kirati". Artoria2e5 🌉 14:08, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Artoria2e5, thanks for identifying this. I've done a bit of digging, and here's my thoughts:
The entire "Tales of Kinama" section should be removed. This section appears to have been translated a section added to Nepali Wikipedia (ne:किनेमा) in December, which itself appears to be copyright violation from a November Facebook post. In addition to the copyright issues, there's no indication that this Facebook post is a reliable source (WP:UGC).
The "created by" parameter should just be removed from the infobox. It's unnecessary and I don't think it's the point of the parameter (it appears to be for an individual person).
Koikirat's other edits should also be reverted as they involved removing sourced statements without explanation and replacing them with unsourced/unverified statements and major grammatical errors.
