I changed "Konfyt is the Dutch word for jam" to "Konfyt is the Afrikaans word for jam" as "konfyt" is certainly Afrikaans, not Dutch.

This article is rather problematic in several ways. Firstly, I believe "konfyt" is the only correct word, not "konfeit". Though they would be pronounced the same in Afrikaans, my Coetzee English-Afrikaans Dictionary lists only the former. Secondly, "konfyt" simply means "jam" in Afrikaans, not any particular type of jam. Booshank 21:36, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree: konfyt is simply Afrikaans for jam (certainly not a "savoury preserve"), so I've changed this into a redirect to jam. Ferdinand Pienaar 18:33, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Whilst konfyt/konfyt may be the word for jam, there is no need to redirect. I don't know whether you have, but I have eaten konfeit. My grandmother used to make it. Dessydes 08:30, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There I've even added a citation. Chew on that. Dessydes 08:51, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
