dyk suggestion[edit]

...that korovai is a traditional Ukraіnian wedding bread, baked from wheat flour and decorated with braids?--Riurik(discuss) 21:14, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

another suggestion[edit]

Here is a discussion about the history and etymology of the word "korovai" that goes all the way back to Greco-Roman traditions. The discussion is in Russian, and they do not cite sources. Like many traditions, there are many versions of korovai depending on the region. http://otvet.mail.ru/question/3129683/ http://otvet.mail.ru/question/11434543/ If someone has enough time and interest, maybe these people can be contacted for their sources, because they sound like they know what they're talking about. Or maybe a translation of this page would suffice. USchick (talk) 01:20, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
