Split This Topic?[edit]

This Topuc needs to be split. Part of it is referring to the pc game and part of it is referring to the physical Lego brick sets. See this http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lego_Creator&diff=prev&oldid=262671506 for most of what should be made a separate article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.168.2.182 (talk) 14:25, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Windows XP[edit]

I have discovered a method for running Lego Creator in Windows XP. It involves downloading a patch from GameCopyWorld.com and running the game in Windows 98/Me compatibility mode. I have entered the info accordingly on the page. I tried to avoid it being original research, etc., but as I am the only one I know of who's tried this, I am unsure what the rules are regarding posting info based on personal, but working, computer experiments. The bottom-line is that I believe this info is essential to this article considering how many people have Windows XP at this point and are missing out on playing this game. If anyone can review my work and update as needed I would appreciate it. THANKS! Danny 21:38, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have two Lego Creator CDs, the first one was the "origonal" version, it will not work on WindowsXP. The second version came with a lego game compliation, and it will work on WindowsXP (out of the box). SaderBiscut 17:28, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I set my copy of Creator in only compatibility mode for Windows 98/Me using Windows XP, and it works. I haven't tried it in Vista yet. Gtxm78 01:41, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't be suprised if the new version did nothing but remove the 'Won't run on NT' check, which putting it into compatibility mode basicly does as well. SaderBiscut 17:16, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just found my copy at some "Goodwill" in the middle of nowhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.234.31.211 (talk) 21:56, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to play the unmodified version just yesterday and found out why it doesn't work. XP doesn't allow other software to take full control of any hardware in your computer; instead, the software must ask XP and DirectX for control. Creator doesn't ask either program, hence the error. I have an old version of creator which wouldn't run on XP or Vista but I emailed LEGO and they sent me a patch which apparently fixed the compatibility and some sound problems.--Lyradog 21:53, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Mine was the old version, and it worked fine in XP. I'm not sure if it can run under Windows Vista Home Premium. - Gtxm78 (talk) 00:28, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Lego Creator Cover.jpg[edit]

Image:Lego Creator Cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Jibberish[edit]

I can't help with the other citations (I remember the thing mentioned at the start of the gameplay section but I don't remember where it was from) but the line "Their default speech was a form of jibberish, simplifying localisation." doesn't seem to add up with the game. The minifigures you can place in the game do say gibberish, but that's just 5 random noises they can make while walking around. Majisto/The Lego Creator Wizard has a ton of dialogue for the in-game tutorials, which is all legible speech. Maybe whoever added that was thinking of Lego Loco? It has a lot of dialogue that's all gibberish.
As for the bit about editing sounds mentioned right before that, there's a bit on page 33 of the manual directing how to access the folder and replace files, but it's only meant to be for the above mentioned 5 minifigure noises, so dunno how much that's worth mentioning. --Jessietail (talk) 03:27, 21 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Split sequels to Lego Creator[edit]

While Lego Creator: Harry Potter and Creator: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was released in 2001 and 2002 respectively, however this needs spliting both games to the new article. Longplay Watcher (talk) 15:25, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Highly unlikely that these games are notable on their own. IceWelder [] 18:28, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@IceWelder: Lego Creator: Harry Potter seems notable. Review 1, Review 2 (Russian), Kotaku article. Chamber of Secrets is even more notable, with numerous critical reviews.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 23:42, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
