Nine wineries ? That was in 2008 when the AVA was young. There are more since---as soon as I can comply with sourcing. Heff01 (talk) 05:13, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The comparison of the LVAVA to northern and central European areas is only good for the winter---in the summer the Lehigh Valley region is hotter. Heff01 (talk) 19:38, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Susquehanna watershed[edit]

The boundaries of this AVA are extensive westwardly enough that not all of it is in the Delaware watershed. Portions of NW Berks and SW Schuylkill Counties located in the AVA are drained by the Swatara Creek into the Susquehanna River. Heff01 (talk) 19:22, 22 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The AVA really should be named the 'Lehigh Valley/Berks AVA' in order to be as inclusive a name as the boundaries are. There are Berks wineries plenty enough in the AVA to justify it. Why does it go all the way west to border Lancaster and Lebanon Counties? Clover Hill owner John Skrip wanted both of his wineries included when he led the application effort for the AVA. Clover Hill started in Breinigsville and added another vineyard between Robesonia and Blue Marsh Lake. Renaming the AVA would require an Act of Congress---and good luck getting US Reps Susan Wild and Dan Meuser motivated enough to do something---even if they do appreciate wine.
