Merge proposal[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
Consensus not to merge Marine Wing Support Squadron 372 into Marine Aircraft Group 39. The independence of the squadron from a particular group is a reasonable argument not to merge, so there is no reason to devalue the 2 oppose votes. There is no prejudice to any other proposal should there really not be sufficient independent sources for this unit. Felix QW (talk) 16:04, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Formal request has been received to merge: Marine Wing Support Squadron 372 into Marine Aircraft Group 39; dated:March 2023. Proposer's Rationale: Source article is wholly uncited and its content would be better preserved in the parent article. Discuss here. GenQuest "scribble" 23:52, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose no valid reason given for a merger. The squadron (like all other squadrons) is separate from the group and could be moved to another group at any time. The statement that the article is "wholly uncited" is incorrect, as with many US military units, the page is lifted from the unit's website: [1] under the unit history tab Mztourist (talk) 03:45, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • No sources after 17 years seems to indicate a lack of Notability. Yeah, it exists. There are deleted high school articles better sourced than this. GenQuest "scribble" 18:24, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
      • User:GenQuest as I stated above, the page is based on their website, so its not unsourced. There are numrous other RS if you Google them. Mztourist (talk) 07:02, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - another reason not to do it is that MWSS-372 was moved to MACG-38 last year. I will begin to clean the article up.Looper5920 (talk) 20:31, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
