Colubrina[edit]

The Pepsi product, Mauby Fizz lists Colubrina Abrorescens in the ingredients, so I added that name to the entry Rmachenw 19:31, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Saponins[edit]

This page claims the drink contains saponins. Is this correct? And aren't saponins toxic? Badagnani 04:12, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

yeah, if you're a fish.--98.14.192.174 (talk) 01:22, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mabi in martinique[edit]

In martinique, french west indies, the mabi drink also exists. It is made with "bwa-mabi" ("mabi wood") which may or may not be a colubrina plant. The bitterness and maceration are definitely among its particularities. This drink is an old traditionnal drink (almost lost for a while) and only few people in the country know how to do it. The origin is unknown.
Given how this drink is widely known in the west indies , and considering how the martinican tradition seems to be very old and isolated, one could postulate that this drink has an amerindian origin. Probably caribe. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.8.21.105 (talk) 05:03, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
