Could clearly do with a lot more work, but having completely rewritten it I think the structure is there for a good 'gateway' article, where the aim is not to duplicate all the individual country and grape articles by filling this one with lots of detail, but to encourage newbies to explore further. And of course, draw together some of the themes common to some or all New World wines. FlagSteward 13:28, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do Russia, Ukraine, and China qualify as New World wine producers? Their winemaking industries are not as old as Mexico or Chile, although in Crimea wine has been made for many centuries. --Ghirla-трёп- 23:05, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
