Neutrality[edit]

I've placed a disputed neutrality tag above the sentence (and the citation needed tag after the subject in question) where it says excellent teachers left and the school suffered . Some statistics or a report is needed to confirm this, removing the POV feel it currently has. - CobaltBlueTony 16:27, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well that's common knowledge - anyone in the town could have told you that. I very much doubt that NSB would keep information as to the quality of its teachers over time - how would they measure it anyway? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.130.40.37 (talkcontribs) 19:00, 2 November 2006
Whoops; a bit' late to the party here. I put that sentence in when i first wrote the article and didn't think twice about sources and POV. Indeed, it seems to be fairly common knowledge to Northamptonians... but I can't verify it. Unless there are some old local papers around. -- jeffthejiff 20:59, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

School motto[edit]

Whilst the school does place the phrase 'a tradition of excellence since 1541' at the bottom of their letters, I think 'To create a passion for learning' is the official school motto; the latter not only sounds more like one, but is placed quite prominently around the school. 86.130.38.109 10:40, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually looking at the new - and quite awful - version of the website, it seems that 'Respecting the past' is now being bandied about as a motto here. 86.130.38.109 10:45, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MRI Scanner[edit]

Mr. Griffiths - the headteacher - said in assembly today that the inventor of the scanner went to NSB, but didn't name him. I'm assuming it is Sir Peter Mansfield, as the other seems to be American, but does anyone know of any definite sources? I suppose we could email the school.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.130.51.206 (talkcontribs) 20:02, 17 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Mansfield's biography at the Nottingham University website (here and detail here) suggests otherwise. — mholland (talk) 21:13, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed move[edit]

The name of the school in their letters and the school website is 'Northampton School for Boys'. The f in for is not capitalised. I propose a move to Northampton School for Boys. Please state if you support or oppose. Joshua Issac (talk) 09:19, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I guess the move is unconroversial. I'll try move it now. Joshua Issac (talk) 17:26, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Couldn't, so I am requesting at Wikipedia: Requested moves. Joshua Issac (talk) 17:28, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
