Well, this is a short article....[edit]

I'm no expert on executives, but shouldn't game developers get the same treatment as the games themselves on Wikipedia, as in: way too much information. It says he led development on CD-ROM games, but mentions only one, etc. Sam (talk) 01:47, 19 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest edit requests[edit]

I work for Microsoft, and would like to add the following text to the article.

To the lead paragraph, add the following sentence and sources:

Phil Spencer is an American business executive, who is the Executive Vice President of Gaming at Microsoft.[1] He is currently the head of the Xbox brand and leads the global creative and engineering teams responsible for gaming at Microsoft. This includes oversight of such brands as Xbox, Microsoft Studios, Minecraft, and Mixer (formerly Beam).[1][2][3]

and in the last paragraph of the Career section, just before the last sentence, insert the sentence and source:

Spencer delivered the keynote address at the 2018 DICE Summit, speaking about increasing racial and gender diversity within gaming.[4] Rnarula (talk) 21:03, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

 Implemented

"He is currently the head of the Xbox brand" With respect to individuals working within the Xbox division, the term head of is not an administrative position as defined by Microsoft HRD. The subject's official title in this role is executive vice president of Gaming at Microsoft. Accordingly:

  1. The lead was corrected to reflect this title.
  2. The infobox was checked and confirmed to be carrying this title.
  3. If the subject had given speeches at several engagements and wished to mention them all in the article, the dates and locations would most likely be added along with references. Descriptions of the topics for each and every speech on the other-hand would likely be omitted. Thus, the claim regarding the subject making the keynote speech at the DICE summit (including the year given) was appended to the article.

Role in Xbox One launch (which is considered to have gone badly)[edit]

There's no mention at all, it's a puff piece.
