Fair use rationale for Image:Shc1.JPG[edit]

Image:Shc1.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Fixed. It should never have been listed as fair use, because of the age of the crest. --Dom (talk) 04:37, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Should the wings of the school be mentioned? The are named after various brothers and old boys. Sacred Heart College, Auckland[edit]

Hi there,

By way of introduction, I am the Digital Marketing Coordinator at Sacred Heart College, Auckland. I recently edited the Sacred Heart College, Auckland page however my edits have been undone by yourself stating "The school should not be removing controversial material from this page. If you think some of the material is unfair, please explain on the talk page." https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sacred_Heart_College,_Auckland&action=history

We do believe this "controversial" content is unfair and should not be included on our Wikipedia page. I am unable to find any other school in Auckland which has controversial content included on their pages and this is therefore discriminatory towards Sacred Heart College, Auckland.

We request that this section be removed from the page. If you would like to discuss this further, please do so by contacting myself and the Headmaster Stephen Dooley lsinnaduray@sacredheart.school.nz

I invited you to explain what material is unfair, but you have not done so. You could well argue that the "Concerns for student safety" section is trivial, though I'd like to see a source for the outcome of the police investigation which might have concluded that no real threat existed. You could also argue that the controversies section is only about very recent events and gives undue weight compared to the lengthy school history. This might prompt an editor to expand the history section to include notable events at the school.
I note that some of the material in the controversies section was removed late last month [1]. The removal correctly noted that the school was not named in the source, but confirmed that this was about Sacred Heart. The first sentence removed, "Sacred Heart College has long had a reputation for bullying:" could have been supported with Top school slammed by Ombudsman: Mum logged 90 incidents of bullying. Perhaps you could give us a source which details the measures the school has put in place since then to prevent bullying, and measures how effective they have been, so we can provide fuller coverage.
You say you cannot find any other school in Auckland which has controversial content included on their pages. Dilworth School immediately springs to mind.-gadfium 22:56, 16 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And I have restored the content also. The content is well-sourced and appears to be appropriate. That the Chief Ombudsman has been upholding complaints against the school is worth mentioning. Meters (talk) 06:32, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
