Why is there no mention of Hungarian, Russian and Serbian speck on this page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.169.26.68 (talk) 12:21, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speck is the german word for bacon. This page should be merged with English page "Bacon". Speck is simply the equivalent of bacon and although a number of distinctions exist the nuances between speck and bacon are insufficient to warrant a separate page. This would also address the previous comment regarding Hungarian, Russian and Serbian bacon as this page currently does not link to any other languages but probably should (bacon does show all the correct links). The problem is that this page is covering different culinary things together because they happen to have the same name. The meat items are clearly a separate item from the fat items, and should have separate articles to reflect that. --Nat Gertler (talk) 18:29, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
