Does this meet the wikipedia standards for notability?[edit]

It does not seem that this entry is notable enough to justify an entry in wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.41.14.130 (talk) 20:25, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I completely disagree. The subject matter of this article meets the standards of notability for Wikipedia: "A topic is presumed to be notable if it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." The Twisted Oak Winery has received significant coverage in reliable sources (principally newspapers, industry organization published references, and non-profit organizations that it has supported) that are independent of the subject (and many of which are included in citations in the article itself). The article also passes all the tests in What Wikipedia is not.--Kharker 20:47, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There are 10 references that break down as: 3 references for thier own website. 3 from blogs 2 from sales outfits 1 from a newspaper that is not really about the winery, but about the area. And 1 from a very local set of competitions.

I think my local mini-mart might also be notable enough for a wikipedia page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.41.14.130 (talk) 17:01, 9 October 2007 (UTC) Wikipedia IS not Self-promotion. It can be tempting to write about yourself or projects you have a strong personal involvement in. However, do remember that the standards for encyclopedic articles apply to such pages just like any other, including the requirement to maintain a neutral point of view, which is difficult when writing about yourself. Creating overly abundant links and references to autobiographical articles is unacceptable. 3 out of 10 references are to its own website. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.41.14.130 (talk) 18:30, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
