Request Location Change[edit]

White Hots (aka Coneys) are not exclusive to Rochester, NY or any specific city in Upstate NY. In fact, they are usually produced at Hoffman's Sausage Company which is based in Syracuse and distributed throughout the region and as far as Vermont and Easter Mass. I would look at their website first, http://www.hofmannsausage.com, their FAQ page, http://www.hofmannsausage.com/about/FAQ.aspx and the history page, http://www.hofmannsausage.com/about/History.aspx. I would also look at the Wikipedia page for Upstate New York culture that lists White Hots/Coneys as being throughout Upstate. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Upstate_New_York. There is also a supporting article from the Syracuse News Papers about Hoffmans and Zweigle's being the main producers of White Hots in Upstate. http://blog.syracuse.com/entertainment/2009/07/coneys_franks_snappys_whatever.html. White hots originated in Rochester with the German immigrant community and then spread east and west. I have updated the article to reflect that.

Some Additional Sources[edit]

Jane & Michael Stern's Coast-to-Coast Cookbook (ISBN 0394539532, published 10/12/1986) suggests ordering white hots from "Zab's Backyard Hots, Inc" on 1504 Scottsville Rd, Rochester, NY.
- Was owned by Donad Zabkar per sources, born 1954 or 1955.
- Trademark registration is up and this business almost certainly is closed (never saw it during my time in Rochester).
