July 2007[edit]

HI Does anyone know where can I get a copy of the 1983 Woodroofe Annual report and prospectus, referred to in the article Thanks AdelaideSA 12:31, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest you contact the office of Michael Harbison, the Lord Mayor of Adelaide. Mr Harbison was one of the major shareholders in the company.

I hope this is helpful.

The Woodroofe's jingle[edit]

I remember that in the 1960s, there was a jingle on the radio and TV which went like this.

We drink Woody, Woody, Woodroofe's.
We drink Woody, Woody, Woodroofe's.
We drink Woody, Woody, Woodroofe's.
'Cause the flavour.... lasts so long.

The tune was a much-simplified version of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic". Can anyone confirm that? If so, maybe it should be in the article!

You are quite right. I remember the jingle well. It was one of many singing commercials use in those days. 124.169.234.85 (talk) 05:58, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Woodroofe's not Woodroofe[edit]

The company may have been W. Woodroofe Pty, but the drinks were labelled "Woodroofe's", and that's how they were known for generations. The article's name needs to reflect this fact. Doug butler (talk) 05:28, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think it would make sense to move to "Woodroofe's" and turn "Woodroofe" into a disambiguation page. It is not clear to me that more people look for the soft drink than the singer or statistician; indeed, looking at Page View Statistics for the three articles, the Grace Woodroofe article seems to get the highest number of views and also the highest average views. (Note that I have a COI with Michael Woodroofe, and I should be taken with a grain of salt.) Russ Woodroofe (talk) 14:31, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
