Soundgarden Protection[edit]

I think the protection on Soundgarden is a little uncalled for, especially since it will last for two weeks. The issue seems to be resolved anyway. Can it at least be changed to semi-protection?-5- (talk) 01:36, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've done nothing wrong.[edit]

ANTM Cycle 12[edit]

I do understand that it's scheduled, but that's all the information that's available. There's no info on start dates, contestants, prizes, number of episodes, etc. Until concrete information is available, the page shouldn't be created. It follows the AfD on Cycle 11 right after Cycle 10 aired. SKS2K6 (talk) 15:02, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sports television broadcast contracts[edit]

Yes, that was a serious request. The only need for that page to be edited would be for vandalism. Enjoy your retirement. :-) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zacitty (talkcontribs) 15:06, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notable Usenet Personalities[edit]

During the edit wars that surrounded the Michael E. Schmidt entry on the Notable Usenet Personalities page, you protected the page from edits. Since the argument was acrimonious, the decision is understandable. However there appears to have been collateral damage because the Doug Bollen section was deleted at the same time that the page was protected. There has been considerable discussion about the deletion in the discussion section and there appears to be a consensus in favour of replacement of the deleted material. There are no known issues about accuracy, content, objectivity or lack of independent references. I'd be grateful if you could refer to the discussion and replace the deleted material. At present the absence of an administrator from the discussion is hindering further progress. Lotaresco (talk) 13:47, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I concur that the removal was not relevant to the general edit-warring that was taking place. Further, your actions of
  1. revert a recent edit
  2. protect to prevent warring with a note that the protection doesn't endorse a particular version
feels self-inconsistent. Please decide if you're going to stamp out the edit war or if you're going tohelp decide which content does or does not belong. There is now strong consensus that your edit was inappropriate on content grounds, so I'm going to re-add it tomorrow as an undisputed {{edit requested}} unless you have some rationale why not. Calling all active WP:NOVELS members[edit]

WikiProject Novels Roll Call

WikiProject Novels is currently holding a roll call, which we hope to have annually. Your username is listed on the members list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active within the project. If you still consider yourself an active WP:Novels editor, please add your name back to the Active Members list. Also feel free to join any of our task forces and take a look at the project's Job Centre to get involved!

Next month we will begin the coordinator election selection process. We hope to have more involvement and input this time around! More news will be forthcoming. Thanks, everyone! María (habla conmigo) 14:22, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit protection of Hurricane Ike[edit]

May I inquire as to why you felt it necessary? The page had several diligent IP contributors and the vandals (I count 6 instances in 24 hours) were all reverted within hours. I have opened a discussion on the talk page, the gist of it being that I don't think edit protection is necessary. Plasticup T/C 04:51, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And while we're at it, where is the "Heavy IP vandalism" in Costa Rica? The last piece of vandalism was three days ago. Plasticup T/C 04:53, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Protection of Costa Rica[edit]

Hi there. I would like to know why did you remove the semi-protection of the article in less than 24 hours. Last time it was protected the adm set it for a month, this time you choose a shorter time, and then you remove it. If you look closely the article's history you will see it has a chronic problem of casual IP vandalism. --Mariordo (talk) 13:43, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My grammar teachers tried to teach me to avoid redundancy and repetition. They failed of course, but sometimes I get it right. The construct - 'T' is the first 'thing' in a series of 'things' ... - can always be replaced by - 'T' is the first in a series 'things'. I left your 'revert' as is, because my grammar might be considered old fashioned. Mnbundle (talk) 13:37, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I am working on an article about Reidsville in the german wikipedia. The population figures in the english article are obviously wrong as I told here: [1]. The article has been vandalized by an IP a couple of days ago [2]. All I did was reverting back to the correct version. 79.154.46.28 (talk) 15:31, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Languages" in Roman Empire Article[edit]

Just letting you know that I reverted the section to a slightly modified older edit (dif), as per my comment on the discussion page from a few weeks ago (dif). In addition to the removal of content that occurred, all the accompanying citations were deleted too. Hence I restored it. I incorporated a key reference and a couple of key phrases from the section I replaced. The section always needed work, but it certainly did not need to be "simplified" to that extent. The newly replaced content is still there, just commented out. Cheers, Romaioi (talk) 15:23, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Crysis Ice.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Crysis Ice.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:12, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cathedral sources[edit]

Hey, back at Cathedral (story) I think you added a lot of information. If you did, do you have the proper references? All I see are parenthetical citations. Mac Davis (talk) 00:00, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, found 'em here. Source was blacklisted so it wouldn't let me put the link it. Thanks increasingly regulated Wikipedia. Mac Davis (talk) 00:07, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Protection[edit]

Dear AndonicO,
Thank you for your answer to my question Here.

I indeed would like my userpage protected, if you wouldn't mind doing so?

The reason is that I very rarely check my Userpage, yet there are links wherever I sign to visit, so some people must do. It must seem strange to get a Warning/Rollback/Comment/Answer to Question, then visit that persons Userpage (Mine in this example) and find that there are rude comments all over it. However, I forget to check so vandalism might stay there for weeks/months before me noticing! Thanks Again,
Limideen 18:36, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for protecting it!

ThankSpam[edit]

My RfA

Thank you for participating in my "RecFA", which passed with a final tally of 153/39/22. There were issues raised regarding my adminship that I intend to cogitate upon, but I am grateful for the very many supportive comments I received and for the efforts of certain editors (Ceoil, Noroton and Lar especially) in responding to some issues. I wish to note how humbled I was when I read Buster7's support comment, although a fair majority gave me great pleasure. I would also note those whose opposes or neutral were based in process concerns and who otherwise commented kindly in regard to my record.
I recognise that the process itself was unusual, and the format was generally considered questionable - and I accept that I was mistaken in my perception of how it would be received - but I am particularly grateful for those whose opposes and neutrals were based in perceptions of how I was not performing to the standards expected of an administrator. As much as the support I received, those comments are hopefully going to allow me to be a better contributor to the project. Thank you. Very much. Spanish question[edit]

Hello,

I've a question about a source that is in Spanish, that I can not read. A registered editor (Epididymus10 (talk · contribs)) added an unsourced bit of information to the Ignacio A. Santos School of Medicine article. The editor had a history of vandalism ([3], [4], [5] and most blatantly, [6]) and based on this, I removed it per WP:PROVEIT. The account re-added the information with a source; because there was sufficient history that I no longer assumed good faith, I asked a Spanish-speaking editor if he could confirm. His reply is here and essentially says the information is incorrect. Accordingly, I removed it. A series of IP addresses then undid my edits ([7], [8] etc.) for a while, and I asked for page semiprotection (which was given). The original editor then reappeared and replaced the information, with minimal discussion on the talk page (see here and here). I'm thinking it's the same editor playing silly buggers with various IP addresses and a sock account when semiprotection was put in place.

Could you as a Spanish-speaking editor confirm whether the information and sourcing is accurate and adequate? If so, I'll leave it up with no objections. Thanks, WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 22:29, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Friday it is, thanks very much, I greatly appreciate it. WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 10:37, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I note that the line-by-line content of what he's inserting now is slightly different than what it was originally, which is partly why I've stopped reverting. I've reverted the content once too, with a "please explain how this is different" summary, but mostly Ive stopped because WLU seems to get there before me. Soap 12:11, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's the "slightly" part that keeps what remains of my good faith going. The account has a history of vandalism that is subtle, but clearly wrong. His non-blantant vandalism of the Asperger syndrome page for instance, was totally unsubstantiated by the reference itself (and the text itself was little more than a subtly-worded belittlement of someone with AS). The account has a mixed history of useful edits and vandalism, and for the most part the "useful" edits are really just vandalism of a sort that is difficult to detect. Frankly, when I have to parse every single edit carefully and cross-check with obscure, hard-to-verify sources, I'm of the opinion that a block is the better way to go. I'm also guessing that these editors are actually him/her, trying to piss me off. The name itself doesn't help, the epididymis is a part of the male genitals. WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 14:48, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ping! Note that another editor I had asked about this has replied as well, here. WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 22:40, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, User:SandyGeorgia has reviewed and concluded that the information is unjustified - she's not an admin, but is probably the editor I respect the most on wikipedia. I wouldn't mind a second confirmation, but only if you have the time and don't mind. WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 00:34, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I intend to revise those articles following the Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Article guidelines. There are more details on the discussion pages of those articles. I'd be interested in any comments you have. It would be best if your comments were on the discussion pages of the two articles.

Thank you.

Welcome! #2[edit]

Hi, apologies. I've been busy with exams. I'm most sorry for the delay in responding.

In User_talk:AndonicO#Welcome! I gave you a header on your user page, and an error message beneath the header. The problem has not been resolved since.

Cheers! A F K When Needed 22:38, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
