Hi I do not think this page should be tagged for deletion. Luciano Micallef is considered one of the most influential abstract painters of the 20th century in Malta. His career has seen him contribute to the local scene on many fronts. He was commissioned by the government of Malta to design national stamps on various occasions. Books by leading Maltese philosophers have been written about him and his work. He has been recognized by various leading entities and been given various prestigious titles and prizes in recognition of his work. hi. it has been pointed out to me that I have used language that is considered superfluous or promotional in my writing for Inspirasia page. I did not intend it to sound this way. I have read through the wiki guidelines with regards to writing about organisations and would like to give this page another try. Charities can be promoted. Wikipedia articles must be written in a strictly neutral fashion in both tone and content, never "talking up" anything. In this case: Working hand in hand with local organisations in various countries around the World, Inspirasia gives them the tools to change lives, create impact and inspire others to follow their example. (pure saccharine marketese), Since then, it has grown into a leading ("leading" according to what reliable source? That's a peacock term), The island is Inspirasia Foundation’s home and heart of activity. (completely inappropriate tone, "the organization is based in" would suffice, provided a reliable source confirms it), Using the knowledge and skills of local experts, the ‘more than money’ support is built on targeting the specific needs of the community and empowering leaders to help make the change (pure brochure junk). The rest continues on that way. Wikipedia articles must stick to facts verified by reliable and independent sources, and never use flowery language or any kind of "talking up". Thank you for the feedback. You are right. When pointed out in this way they really seem like excessive bla bla. I’m feeling guilty that my lack of tact and proper usage has resulted in info about a worthwhile cause going down the drain. Is there any way I can retrieve the page and rewrite it ? That's as may be, but then what I would tell you is to listen to what other editors are telling you. You tried to create an article at AfC, and it got declined. That should not have been a signal to you that you were ready to create an article in mainspace; it should've told you the exact opposite. Yet you then went on to create Luciano Micallef which was deleted as promotion. Now, certainly, that should have told you that you were not ready yet to create mainspace articles, but then you created another promotional mainspace article. Newer editors should, preferably, gain a lot of experience editing existing articles before attempting to create any new ones. If you really think you're ready, use draft and AfC again to be sure, rather than trying straight into mainspace again. For an experienced editor such as yourself things look perfectly clear. When a new person enters the scene, then it is trials and tribulations coupled with garnering of knowledge that helps their progress. I will take your words of advice and rewrite the pages in Draft. I will also be more careful with my choice of words. It is very easy to fall into the trap of using superfluous language when your job is writing for commercial institutions. is it possible for you to userfy the article in my mainspace or do you suggest i start from scratch ? Either way i’m going to start it as a draft. It would be great if i could clean up and reuse the content. I actually was willing to do that, but as part of any restoration I have to check for copyright violations. I found that several parts of the article were copied directly from [1]. Direct copying without quotation and attribution is a copyright violation, and please remember to write any future article content in your own words rather than copying and pasting. (Brief direct quote are acceptable if they are used very sparingly and properly attributed). Since the article contains copyright violations, I cannot restore it. I understand. I could not clearly work out the exact function of that organization and in my efforts to be as precise as possible I opted to use their descriptions. I did not want to attribute anything that was not theirs or the opposite. This is the only one time in the whole article where text has been lifted. i should have put it in quotes. Don't give up quite so easily. I don't see a way I could easily take out the copyright violations from the history, and in any case that's more than I'm generally willing to do. Wikivoyage[edit]

Hi Angie. Thanks for asking about Wikivoyage. I suggest you start with small edits while you get familiar with the Wikivoyage format. Then you build up to more ambitious edits if you wish. Check the info in Malta articles and you might find outdated info about attractions, restaurants, bars etc. If you correct and update that info, that will be valuable work that will help you get to know Wikivoyage.
