I have just launched a page for Johan Alkenäs in English. As he is a very famous Swedish songwriter, I don't know if you can possibly pitch in with a page for him in Swedish Wikipedia. He is involved in Cesár Sampson Eurovision song "Nobody but You" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8MyztgOTv8 which I dedicate to you for all your efforts. I would also appreciate if your time permits for a Swedish language page for "Mi Gna" by Super Sako and Hayko, a viral Armenian hit now also in French by Maitre Gims. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtccSFkAhrM werldwayd (talk) 06:24, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

Wikipedia DYK and history of deleted and merged pages

@BabbaQ: Hi, Can you please supply me with the DYK link that I need and the instructions of what to do when your articles are nominated for DYK. Also could you please get the link for the history of deleted and merged Wikipedia pages as well, as I will also need that link. Today I worked on my List of people who disappeared, it is taking a while to get done, but it will be worth it when it finally is done! Davidgoodheart (talk) 01:58, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
@Davidgoodheart: - Sorry for late reply. I have been celebrating Easter away from home. Anyways, I think I got the DYK situation under control. And I can not ask you to help me as it would constitute canvassing. The articles will be reviewed sooner or later. Thank you anyway! Please let me know when your List is complete so I can take a look. If I have mistunderstood you in anyway please write me again and I will try to help you with whatever you need.--BabbaQ (talk) 18:18, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
@BabbaQ: Hi, thanks for replying and I glad that you are not canvassing, as I am not doing so either, as I have been cautioned not to by an administrator. I have been working on the list of people who disappeared for a few weeks, as it is difficult to set up properly, but hopefully I will have it done sooner or later. It will remain in my microsoft word document that I give you private access to, as well as two other editors ass well. I can give you three tasks that are important to my my page creation, but lets just stick to one at a time. The first one is can you supply me with with the link of all deleted and merged articles? Davidgoodheart (talk) 08:57, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
@Davidgoodheart: I have looked for but not found such a List. I think you can ask one of the participants in the Crime deletion sort group. I will give you a redirect there. They might be able to find such a list. WP:DS. BabbaQ (talk) 09:34, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
@Davidgoodheart: - Do not be discouraged to ask me about other stuff as well. I will help you as much as I can :)--BabbaQ (talk) 15:41, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
@BabbaQ: - Hi, can you please find newspaper archives info about Linne Marie Dominelli, who had disappeared in 1984 Davidgoodheart (talk) 22:59, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
@Davidgoodheart: - Surprisingly nothing was found on any search engine that I used. Perhaps not a case with much publicity. Anyway, I did find some other interesting pages about her.[1] ,[2], [3], [4].BabbaQ (talk) 12:25, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
Also concerning canvassing to this Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Annika_Connor AfD discussion canvassing is OK as long as you canvass someone with experience within the subject of the article. So you can ping me if you need input at an AfD concerning crimes, biograpies etc. BabbaQ (talk) 12:25, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
@BabbaQ: - Hi, regarding this article the Disappearance of Kelly Dae Wilson, Could you please add a picture of her to the infobox in her article, I would do so, but I am unsure how to. Davidgoodheart (talk) 02:57, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
I will take a look at that. Interesting article by the way. BabbaQ (talk) 07:22, 11 April 2018 (UTC)
@BabbaQ: - Thank you, I recently had asked another editor if he wanted to contribute to my private wiki, but he declined. But I am glad that you will take part in it. I will hopefully resume work on it on Sunday. Take care, and all the best. Davidgoodheart (talk) 07:07, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for creating the Farmen VIP article, I don't know if I would've gotten around to doing it myself. For the article itself, would you like it to be similar to the Farmen (Sweden) 2018 article? Also for Stjärnornas stjärna, I don't really know a whole lot about the series and I don't want to update it by just checking the Swedish article and see if there's been any changes (I don't even know if we're allowed to). Thought I'd ask since you created them and am interested to hear what you envision it as. Thanks for creating the articles mate, appreciated it :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nintenga (talkcontribs) 20:12, 20 March 2018 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ulrica Hydman Vallien requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. HC7 (talk) 23:17, 21 March 2018 (UTC)

The list of people who disappeared, which I am currently creating

@BabbaQ: Hi, I hope you are doing well. I would just like to let you that I am currently creating The list of people who disappeared and have been working on it for a while now. This will differ from the List of people who disappeared mysteriously as it will focus on the fact that the person disappeared not why they disappeared. When you drop the word "mysteriously" from the title it gives more reason to keep people on the list, because if they were kidnapped, went into hiding or were known to have been killed, but their body was never found they will still belong on the list as those ARE disappearances. The list will remain unpublished due to libel issues, but will be viewable by me and a few other editors that I will grant access to it, which you will be one of if you would like to be. Please let me know if you are interested. Take care! Davidgoodheart (talk) 03:48, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

@Davidgoodheart: - Oh, sounds interesting. I am interested. Thanks!--BabbaQ (talk) 07:46, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

Newspapers archives and off line sources

@BabbaQ: Hi, I remember once that you had added a newspaper archive link to the Murder of Melanie Carpenter on the List of people who disappeared mysteriously, and also that two of my articles were deleted due to lack of sources which I'm not upset about because they didn't have much sources. I kept copies of the them before they were deleted, and might add them to my own private list if I can get some more sources for them. Do you think that you could search some newspaper archives and off line sources to get some sources to add to them? Also there is an article that I would like to add to the List of people who disappeared mysteriously, but can't because I can't find any sources. Since I don't really know how to search newspaper archives and off line sources would you be able to if I give you the info on these missing people? Davidgoodheart (talk) 22:04, 25 March 2018 (UTC)
@Davidgoodheart: - I will do my best. Absolutely. :)--BabbaQ (talk) 18:58, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

DYK for Kenneth Gärdestad

On 24 March 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Kenneth Gärdestad, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Swedish songwriter Kenneth Gärdestad wrote the lyrics for the Melodifestivalen 1979 winning song "Satellit" performed by his brother Ted Gärdestad? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Kenneth Gärdestad. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Kenneth Gärdestad), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Edward Blom

Hello:

The copy edit that you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Edward Blom has been completed.

I used Google Translate and attempted to make some of the Swedish -> English translations a little clearer. I hope I have done so. The article has only one reference. I would suggest you find other sources you can use as citations for the article. This may also allow the article to be expanded. I notice the article on the Swedish Wikipedia is longer and more wide-reaching, and includes sources that may be useful to you.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Regards,

Catherine Lynch AfD

I apologize for relisting the AfD so soon. I should have waited at least a week, if not longer, following most editors' advice. Now that No Consensus has been reached, I may as well stop trying to get rid of the article and start trying to improve it. Sorry for creating this entire fiasco. Centibyte(talk) 14:27, 14 March 2018 (UTC)

That is alright. I have no issue with a second AfD in general, it is just that it will only lead to one more No consensus decision or Keep. Anyway, I think you could be successful with getting a better scope of what can be done to improve the articles to yours and others satisfaction when the AfD is closed, and you can continue discussions at the articles respective talk pages. I stand behind you 100%.--BabbaQ (talk) 14:39, 14 March 2018 (UTC)

Again thanking you and independent wikis

@BabbaQ: Hi, thank you for objecting to the deletion of one of my articles, but it has been deleted now, and as I stated people are now way too picky of what to include. The only way I can get around this is to write independent Wikis, but I do not yet know how to do that, do you have any idea how it is done? Also remember since I am writing about sensitive issues such as missing people, I think that at first I should keep my pages unpublished. Davidgoodheart (talk) 04:05, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
@Davidgoodheart: Anytime David. Now sadly two of my articles Ida Redig and Stiko Per Larsson have been put up for deletion as you can see below. They are both notable and has been put through AfD for some weird reason. Anyway always happy to help you. To answer your question, I think you should always try to write the articles you like. If they get put through AfD then so be it, then try again. I know it seems hopeless, but never give up.--BabbaQ (talk) 21:36, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
@BabbaQ: Hi, I am very glad that your articles were kept, as I am sure you are as well, and I was glad that I could help you out. Also thanks for objecting to the deletion of my articles that are now up for deletion. In case you didn't know the Disappearance of Tammy Rothganger is also up for deletion, and I think that the people who like to delete other people's articles are really pesky and ill-informed. I am looking into making some independent wiki sites real soon, and I will let you be one of the editors who I grant permission to edit them. Take care. Davidgoodheart (talk) 00:09, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

Svenska Melodifestivalen deltävlingar

Hi.

I saw the proposed deletions here above. After checking the Swedish articles I dont think they should be deleted. The persons have made other artistic things before too. Maybe you should use the Swedish sources to make more claim of fame. I am short of time to edit right now, but feel free to ask me to read and make smal changes to the articles. Best regards Adville (talk) 19:53, 10 February 2018 (UTC)

For the third semi, wait to create articles until after, then youll have more good sources (and may check the Swedish article for betger sources) Adville (talk) 19:57, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
Adville - I have improved both articles. Take a look. I think it is quite obvious now that both articles should be kept Stiko has had chart success and Redig has done plenty of notable songwriting/soundtrack and acting work.BabbaQ (talk) 21:21, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
Thanks. As a Swede it is obvious. I'll try to vote. But as you see on my Swedish discussion page (past paragraph) I am quite buzy the comming week, working. But I keep an eye here of course. Best regards, Adville (talk) 21:56, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
Adville - I think you better check the AfDs when you find time for it. Now that an editor has done two copypaste Delete !votes. Most likely without even reading the articles considering the rationale.--BabbaQ (talk) 12:13, 12 February 2018 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Category:Miss International 2013 contestants requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

—swpbT go beyond 18:29, 28 December 2017 (UTC)

Talang 2018

The article is good at first glance. Thanks for adding references as I'm personally guilty of forgetting to add references myself. If it's possible, can you see if you can add some info about contestants who make it to the auditions (like: age, where they live, what act they did, etc.) If you need some other articles to help you, you can always look at the other Got Talent series articles (like New Zealand's Got Talent (series 2)) and see if you can do something similar like that. Thanks for letting me look at it. Have a good day mate. Nintenga (talk) 22:26, 6 February 2018 (UTC)

help with swedish

Hey. I was thinking of adding this quote ("Hon är otroligt ”stjärnig”) to Margaret's article. Google translates this as "she's incrdibly starry" which sounds a bit negative like she's being a diva. Is that what it says? or if not how would you translate it differently? regards. ArturSik (talk) 00:32, 10 February 2018 (UTC)

I would probably translate it more, She has immense star quality, or She is a star. I the translation of the word right up and down would be quite weird in English.--BabbaQ (talk) 00:33, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
Thanks. The comment comes from Christer Björkman. I think the best option in that case would be to say: The Melodifestivelen producer Christer Björkman referred to her as a "star". ArturSik (talk) 00:38, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
I agree. Good work by the way on the article. Impressive.--BabbaQ (talk) 00:40, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
Thank you:) ArturSik (talk) 00:43, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
I think ' ... referred to her as "very starlike".' would be better. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 01:10, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
Do you agree BabbaQ? ArturSik (talk) 11:13, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
It could be done either way. BabbaQ (talk) 14:18, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
ArturSik Sadly two of my articles has been put through AfD, both are highly notable singers. So I have little time for other business but I am happy that I can help you. --BabbaQ (talk) 21:23, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope that everything goes well. Best wishes. ArturSik (talk) 21:43, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
ArturSik Yes, Ida Redig and Stiko Per Larsson. I have improved both articles further now. It will likely go well. RegardsBabbaQ (talk) 21:45, 10 February 2018 (UTC)

Kenneth Gärdestad

Now I have drastically revised the Kenneth Gärdestad page and was bold in reorganizing the article putting it into sections for clarity and easiness as well as adding some information. It was very interesting and all the best in being chosen for DYK, I know how important it is for you after creating pages for Swedish subjects. I was amazed by his and his brother's output and was listening to some of Ted's songs including the Melodifestivalen winner "Satellit". The Working Wikipedian's Barnstar

The Working Wikipedian's Barnstar
I wanted to thank you for all the work you've been doing in the WP:AFD section. I believe there are not enough eyes looking at these articles, and often notable people and topics are getting deleted just because there are not enough people like you willing to research and defend them. Lonehexagon (talk) 16:50, 26 February 2018 (UTC)

Personal note: I've noticed that if people feel slighted, they will fight to the end to try to get a topic deleted even if they have no personal investment, just because they are trying to "get back" at the person who caused them to feel slighted. I know it's easier said than done, but I feel like it's incredibly important to try to make friends instead of enemies during the discussions, even when people are being rude or uncool. I've discovered that keeping a cool head in the face of rudeness really strengthens the "keep" arguments and might help keep more articles from getting deleted without reason. Anyways, I wanted to thank you again for all the work you do :) Lonehexagon (talk) 16:50, 26 February 2018 (UTC)

@Lonehexagon: I understand you exactly. I feel the same way. And thank you for your encouragement.--BabbaQ (talk) 22:56, 26 February 2018 (UTC)

This Swedish author I believe is notable enough for an article at Swedish WP and maybe even here. All the major newspapers and others wrote at length about him hen he died last March. Something you might want to look at? --SergeWoodzing (talk) 15:56, 22 February 2018 (UTC)

I will take a look at it over this weekend. Sounds promising though.--BabbaQ (talk) 07:44, 23 February 2018 (UTC)

Hello WOSO editors! A few initiatives have been started with an emphasis on making more WOSO links blue (similar to the work that WikiProject Women in Red does) and filling in the gaps within various league, team, and player, etc. articles.

If you're interested in collaborating with others to make more links blue, take a look at the initiatives listed in the box below. Sign up at the bottom of an initiative page and help grow the lists, add potential references, resources, and create the articles ... or create your own initiative.

Did you know ...

WP:GNG takes precedence over WP:NFOOTY (which only includes the players in 1 active women's league)? Often times there is enough media coverage that meets WP:GNG or other notability guidelines. For more information, see WP:WOSO#Notability and be sure to tag the new article talk page with: {{WP Women's sport|footy=yes}}

Has an article you worked on been nominated for deletion? See:

Want some tips, assistance, or resources from other WOSO editors?
Leave a message on the task force talk page.

Thank you for your continued contributions to articles related to women's football / soccer (WOSO)!
