Renaming of music articles to remove "The" from disambiguators

Dicklyon has already set about renaming The xx's articles, even after you raised concerns about this specific band at AN. I'd really be uncertain as to starting a more in-depth, full-scale discussion on the matter...would doing so even halt his moves? Because I kind of doubt it, as a lot of editors will continue acting under previous "consensus" no matter how unclear or dubious until/unless a different one is achieved. Deletion of article Parks on the Air

Hi, I just noticed that yesterday after reviewing all the keep and delete votes, that you've decided to delete the article Parks on the Air. I don't know if you've noticed the recent addition of several references to notable news articles in the new section I created (which makes the article most noteworthy) called Activities/Events. In there, ham radio operators go to parks, and are operating 'on the air' there at those various locations and it was recorded in several news articles. When I originally created the article, I was at a search engine Yahoo which unfortunately didn't provide many articles for me to reference but I did have a few (like QRZ.com). However, after searching with different key words and using Google instead, it had produced many other very interesting/helpful articles for me to use in the article. If there are sections or paragraphs or specific sentences which could be cleaned up/removed from the article to prevent it from looking self-promoting, I'm more than happy to work on those parts. I respectfully ask that you reconsider your decision to delete the article and consider which areas could be cleaned up to have it kept in Wikipedia. Thanks for your time Zul32 (talk) 00:03, 15 September 2019 (UTC)

  • I'm quite happy to drop it back to Draft: space if you wish - let me know. Black Kite (talk) 00:08, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
    • Sure, that would be fine.. but again, I'm not an expert article writer, so I could use a few pointers as to which specific parts of it were key in making it too much 'self promoting'. I also don't want the other admins to immediately take it upon themselves to think that they're obligated to delete the article since you didn't without doing a reasonable once-over of it. Thanks Zul32 (talk) 03:14, 15 September 2019 (UTC)
      • I've done that. However, the article's biggest problem is not that it's promotional, but it's sourcing; there's practically no good third-party sources outside the scene itself. See WP:N. That's what you need to sort out first. Black Kite (talk) 17:11, 15 September 2019 (UTC)

Closing statement

Greetings, Black Kite. Just a small note about your closing statement. I believe there is a "not" in it that you should delete since it alters the meaning of what you clearly meant to say. Take care. -The Gnome (talk) 21:20, 16 September 2019 (UTC)

Deletion of Neal Ludevig

Hello!

As I'm new to Wiki, I wasn't able to find where I could comment on the ongoing discussion for this page, and now I see its too late! I wanted to provide additional input in questions in the creation of this page.

That being said, a few things:

I have not coordinated with the subject of this article at all. I'm confused on why this was deleted, or couldn't just be modified. Echoing Luke Kindred, this is the work of most promoters - the events they do are the basis of their work, not themselves, hence why many of the articles have him quoted as oppose to him being the subject of the article itself. A number of the events that the subject of the article, Neal, has done received substantial press, and he's been covered and interviewed in it (WNYC, NPR, Public Library to name a few), plus major outlets providing coverage (Daily News, NY Times, Artnet) with him being quoted. What more would you be looking for? And similarly, think of people like Michael Lang, or Peter Shapiro but younger - this guy is on the same path and the work speaks for itself.

I'm asking because I originally was hoping for some constructive criticism in making the article better because never did I imagine it would be outright deleted - I thought this was contribution based! What is the language that needs to be added to make it sufficient? Is there any reversal process here?

Again, I'm new to this, but didn't think this would happen. How was this is written promotionally, how? Most of the statements were truthful statements with a credible backing article.

Is there a way you or GPL93 can retrieve the article so it can be improved? Please advise!

Thanks, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Talfredou (talkcontribs) 16:10, 23 September 2019 (UTC)

Regarding Warning

Hi Hope you doing good. I received a warning for doing some unnecessary stuff and I would like you to know some,

That none of them would have happened if proper response was provided.

I said about Rotten Tomatoes list about best movies of genre such as animation, superhero are rightly based on the adjusted score of critics and the response I received was like these

🤦‍♂️ Perhaps just leaving the awful thing out of the page is the best thing that can be done.

And you failed to see that? Ashokkumar47 (talk) 16:25, 29 September 2019 (UTC)

  • No, I saw that very clearly. However, Wikipedia works on consensus, so it doesn't matter how correct you think you are, you don't get to add that information if a majority of other editors provide good reasons why it shouldn't. Black Kite (talk) 16:48, 29 September 2019 (UTC)

If a proper response was provided I would have left promptly.

Maybe your editor should know how to give a response. Ashokkumar47 (talk) 01:20, 30 September 2019 (UTC)

Mitu Bhomick Lange

Hi again- re the Australian Indian Film festivals; someone has written an article about the founder Mitu Bhowmick Lange. I copy edited and wikilinked it to the other articles about a week ago, and sure enough it got attacked within 3 days. Would you be able to apply protection to that one too? They also attempted to coatrack the same accusations onto another article of Indian actress, Dia Mirza who appeared in one of the films as well. Curdle (talk) 02:28, 10 October 2019 (UTC)

Regarding my three reverts

Hi, you questioned about my threee reverts here but I just want to tell that user was indefinitely blocked by Admin for not being here. Also, this discussion came here after merger of criticism of swaminarayan sect article. Most of the involved editors didn't represent clear consensus for that and just look at that the editors who 'represented consensus'. They are behaving like single person in all criticism of that sect related articles. Regards, -- Harshil want to talk? 14:09, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
