More information needed about File:Laborde.png[edit]

Hello, ChrisAnorthosis!

It was really helpful of you to you to upload File:Laborde.png. However, we need to properly format the image license information in order to keep and use new images.

If you can edit the description and add one of these templates, that would be great. If you're not sure how or would like some help, please ask us at the media copyright questions page and we'll be happy to assist you.

Thanks again! --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 11:05, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

January 2012[edit]

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Marcos Antônio Malachias Júnior. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you.--Oleola (talk) 09:21, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Colin.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the file is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Oleola (talk) 09:22, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove file deletion tags from file description pages on Wikipedia, as you did to File:Laborde.png, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you.--Oleola (talk) 09:45, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. Continuing to remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Matúš Kozáčik, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, may be considered disruptive editing. Further edits of this type may result in your account being blocked from editing. --Oleola (talk) 10:55, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your invitation to participate in a Wikimedia-approved survey in online behavior.[edit]

Hello, my name is Michael Tsikerdekis[1][2], currently involved as a student in full time academic research at Masaryk University. I am writing to you to kindly invite you to participate in an online survey about interface and online collaboration on Wikipedia. The survey has been reviewed and approved by the Wikimedia Foundation Research Committee.

I am contacting you because you were randomly selected from a list of active editors. The survey should take about 7 to 10 minutes to complete, and it is very straightforward.

Wikipedia is an open project by nature. Let’s create new knowledge for everyone! :-)

To take part in the survey please follow the link: tsikerdekis.wuwcorp.com/pr/survey/?user=70085062 (HTTPS).

Best Regards, Michael Tsikerdekis (talk) 08:56, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

PS: The results from the research will become available online for everyone and will be published in an open access journal.

UPDATE: This is the second and final notification for participating in this study. Your help is essential for having concrete results and knowledge that we all can share. I would like to thank you for your time and as always for any questions, comments or ideas do not hesitate to contact me. PS: As a thank you for your efforts and participation in Wikipedia Research you will receive a Research Participation Barnstar after the end of the study. --Michael Tsikerdekis (talk) 08:12, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think you realize that your English writing is pretty bad, therefore I don't understand why you want to "erase" copy edit template, there are still uncited sections and info too. By the way Anorthosis website is a bit messy in sumation of statistics, be aware of that.--Oleola (talk) 22:35, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Ricardo Laborde playing against Anagennisi Derynias.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ricardo Laborde playing against Anagennisi Derynias.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 08:31, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there CHRIS, VASCO from Portugal here,

in players' boxes, it's ANORTHOSIS only, full name is for introduction and storyline OK? In players positions, as you did for example in Jurgen Colin: it's "Centre back", not "Center Back" OK? Thank you - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 17:05, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Nicos Efthimiou for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Nicos Efthimiou is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nicos Efthimiou until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Sir Sputnik (talk) 20:19, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Constantinos Laifis has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played in a fully pro league.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Quality class of Anorthosis[edit]

Before assessing an article, you should look at each WikiProject's assessment page for guidance. You cannot promote an article above B class without a WP:GAN review beforehand, or to FA class without the rigorous WP:FAC. The article reference-wise would be considered C-class at best, and instead of promoting it to no avail, I suggest you improve it. Also, on WikiProject Football, the high-importance tag is reserved for teams with international notability, which has to be verifiable in the article. Cheers. Kosm1fent 06:18, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Progamerz.gr, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia for multiple reasons. Please see the page to see the reasons. If the page has since been deleted, you can ask me the reasons by leaving a message on my user talk page.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disambiguation link notification for September 3[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2012–13 Anorthosis Famagusta F.C. season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Paulo Jorge (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

September 2012[edit]

Your addition to Nikos Englezou has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text, or images borrowed from other websites, or printed material without a verifiable license; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. You seem to have used a babelfish translation of an entire copyrighted article [3] Firstly, babelfish translations are usually riddled with mistakes and should not be used and secondly (and most importantly), using entire portions, or smaller portions, or even close paraphrasing and translation of copyrighted material is not allowed! Orphaned non-free media (File:ADDDDDDDDD.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:ADDDDDDDDD.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:26, 4 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You recently created this talk page by apparently pasting the contents of a different talk page, somewhat altered and in various ways incorrect.

  1. As you were told above, you may not unilaterally declare a page FA-class; reaching this status requires passing a stringent review by other editors at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates.
  2. You added the {{online source}} template in a way which implies that you wrote a press item for the club's official website using your own work as a source, which is rather nonsensical.
  3. You also added templates indicating that the article was a {{football portal selected}} and a {{PG showcase article}}; the former is not true, and the latter is a template that you created without any apparent input from the Cyprus Portal.

I have removed the erroneous Article history and the article class ratings. I have also removed the unlikely and unproven assertion that the article was used by a press source, as well as the erroneous {{football portal selected}} template and the {{PG showcase article}} template for which you have not sought any input. I would like to assume that you were acting in good faith, but it really appears that you were simply trying to raise the profile of 'your' article without going through the proper channels. The processes that are in place to recognize Wikipedia's best work are inherently collaborative; please use them.
In trying to sort out what was going on with the article, I noticed a number of citations to the article itself, with page numbers that make no sense. I think that perhaps you were citing a book (an author by the name of Στεφανίδης, perhaps?) and did not get the citation formatting quite right. You might want to take a look at that. Best regards. Disambiguation link notification for March 12[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2012–13 Anorthosis Famagusta F.C. season, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Rui Duarte and Sotirović (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

informative[edit]

Srđan Blažić Belongs and stays with the team until contract brake agreement and such thing doesnt exist at the moment Constantinos Mintikkis Gavriel Constantinou Marcos Michael and Christos Marangos were assigned to the old number they got when they used to play for the same team. Once a football player returns to a team and his old squad number is available he automatically regains it unless he wants to request a new one.
Pedro Almeida was released last year. About Aldo Teqja that you assigned him to the first squad, he has no professional contract with the team yet, he plays with the youth squad and there is no official announcement if he started to get train with the first team. Furthermore your last post on my wall mentioned non prohibited tone and aggressive language, addressing it with the link you gave which is not up-to-date. Dear Chris, i respect what you have seen but is there any online source or evidence? a carbon copy of their contracts? if not it doesnt makes them accurate and visible to the people, so they changes cannot be placed.
About the number regaining, you are absolutely right, once a player returns, he goes through his record, and at the moment the squad number he used to have, looks empty. ((Argento1985) 18:26, 7 June 2013 (UTC))[reply]

July 2013[edit]

About your edits on Anorthosis

  • On a recent edit you did, you have added Valentinos Sielis and christos maragkos as captains, since when valentinos shielis is a captain and who announced that after the recent transfer of maragkos (2 weeks ago) we regain the captain title he had 3 years ago? I cannot find any link nor a ref according to the official www.anorthosis.com
  • Furthermore you removed all the U21 and U19, Also the "TBA" citetions, why shall we have a unique style? The format is the same for all the clubs, as the player is announced the the club, it can grand the value "TBA" which means to be announced. After the squad number of the player is announced then it replaces it.
  • EU Nationals column has players coming through europe why shall they have the flag also? Its listed below the category of Europeans. No need for extra flags. Flags could be useful to point the country that he is coming from and thats why its useful and exists next to the player
  • About your edit -> 'other registered players' better have a look to the definition of [Reserve Team] before you guess a title to drop these players and to collapse an existed category
  • Squad Numbers, Ive seen some numbers next to players that only through imagination can be guessed. Curious, why did you add them?
  • Since when the formation & the squad of a team changes because of the single game?-->Last Update: July 04, 2013. [1]
  • Furthermore you broke the border from "Board of directors" and below. All these sub-entities doesnt belong there, except the first one.

Anorthosis didn't give to these players number yet. Except the one who has [[6]]
As a synopsis i can see that you want to add your own style and color to an article that everyone can contribute, at least dont try to deface the image completely Argento1985 12:33, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on European Universities Futsal Championships, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Sir Sputnik (talk) 18:54, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Panayiotis Linardos has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played in a fully pro league.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

Sir Sputnik (talk) 18:58, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Panayiotis Linardos for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Panayiotis Linardos is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

Hi there from Portugal,

OK sorry I reverted/doubted you, seems he does play for this club. However, in order to insert that again, you did not have to revert ALL my additions I think. Oh, and two more things: 1 - we don't write TBA in boxes anymore, we wait until the player gets a number; 2 - in box, "Anorthosis" is 100% enough, compression please.

Disambiguation link notification for July 27[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2016–17 Anorthosis Famagusta F.C. season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Marios Nicolaou. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
