Speedy deletion of Human Relief Foundation[edit]

A tag has been placed on Human Relief Foundation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Help request[edit]

{{adminhelp}}please help me in this, I tried to write about Human Relief Foundation last few days, but I did some writign mistakes then I left the page. Afterthat somebody came and wrote about the topic itself, which I found, but he used a hidden language trying to downgrade this organization by picking up one news which shows that something wrong with this organization.

Please tell me what can I do,

OK, so - the article right now is a bit of a mess; I don't know why it needs 5 references just to assert that it is a charity. The information re. Hamas might just be ok, because it does cite a reliable source, but it certainly isn't in balance.

There are several things that you could do, but as a new user, my recommendation is as follows;

1. I'll place a 'welcome' message below, with tips on how to get started. Before you work further on that specific article, please follow the advice it gives - in other words, play around a little, learn more about Wikipedia, experiment in your own area and edit a few other (unrelated) articles. This will help you to get the hang of things.

2. Below that, I'll post some general advice regarding charities etc. After you're 'learned the ropes' a bit, I suggest that you follow these tips - create an article in your user space, work on it to add good references etc, and then ask someone to check it before making it live.

Of course, this is just my advice - you could, alternatively, edit the article and argue the facts etc - but I think you'll probably have more long-term success if you follow my suggestions.

You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.

Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.

Play in your user area. For example, create User:Closenet82/test.

Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.

When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Non-profit organizations - how to make an article[edit]

Hi there.

I've dealt with several other people in the same situation as yourself, in the past 3 months. They have all managed to make successful articles. It might sound complex at first, but it's really not so bad.

First, I recommend reading the welcome thing above; the best way to get going is to follow that - play around a little, and edit some other articles, before starting your own.

When you're ready to make the article, first, read the following docs carefully; WP:COI, WP:BESTCOI and WP:BFAQ.

Following the principles of 'bestcoi', start creating the article in your own user space - e.g. user:Closenet82/mypage. Add references for everything - make sure they are reliable and verifiable sources. The webpage of the charity is a primary source, so may be challenged. For example, if you say "The organisation has 3000 employees" with a reference to their own website, that information may later be removed. If you can source a national newspaper article that mentions the fact, it should be OK. For help with how to make good refs, see my own tips in User:Chzz/help/refs.

At the same time, get in touch with other people in the community. Go to their talk page, create a new section, and say hello. Remember to 'sign' your message, with ~~~~ at the end. Some of the others I've helped with this include;

When you've got the article into shape, ask someone to look at it. You could ask a helper in IRC, or put a request on WP:FEED.

Sorry if this seems like a lot of info to take in, but from experience I've found it to be the best approach. There are lots of people in the Wikipedia community who will help you in any ways we can.
