Orphaned non-free media (Image:Dish network logo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Dish network logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:07, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Rock Pigeon

The first part of the article is primarily about the wild Rock Pigeon, native to Eurasia. There is a long section on feral pigeons in cities worldwide further into the article. Although I realise your edit was correct and in good faith, it was in the wrong place, and I thought its content essentially duplicated what was already covered more fully in the feral pigeon section, since feral pigeons occur worldwide, not just in the Americas. Apologies if I've handled this badly, Jimfbleak 15:19, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Your RfA

Hi Cocoaguy. I'm really sorry but I had to close your RfA early per WP:SNOW as the way it was going, it didn't have any chance of succeeding at this time. I'm so sorry about that. However, when you look through the opposes, it's pretty obvious that most people would like to see you get more experience behind you, maybe a few more months, and come back and have another go. I'm sure next time, your RfA will fly through. Don't give up heart, though, as you're on the right track. Just a little more time and editing is all. - Alison 03:57, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Request

Hi Cocoaguy, I was wondering if you could be kind enough to look into the GA nomination of 65th Infantry Regiment (United States). It has been about a month since I nominated it and even though User:Agüeybaná is well intentiond and has left a comment, I am afraid that he is not a member of the GA commitee and does not have the experience in this sort of thing. Thank you. Tony the Marine 16:58, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Never mind, it has been taken care of. Tony the Marine 23:30, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Thank you

Cocoaguy, thank you for responding. I was wondering if you could look into my GA nomination of Hispanic Admirals in the United States Navy which also is long over due. Here is the situation a User: T Rex, which I believe is inexperienced (I may be wrong mind you) is a little confused and I have requested someone else to look into the issue. See: Wikipedia talk: Good article nominations#Hispanic Admirals in the United States Navy. I fully trust your judgement. Tony the Marine 00:58, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Please see my query here. --Agüeybaná 02:41, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
  • Cocoaguy, since you promoted the article to GA, I think that it is only fair that I advice you that T-Rex went on and kist it for demotion. I believe that as promotor of the article that he should have adviced you as a courtesy, but I see that he didn't, therefore I am posting here what he posted in my talk page in case you would like to express yourself on the issue:

"I am taking this to WP:GAR because I feel that Cocoaguy either didn't understand my concerns or ignored them when reviewing the article. T Rex | talk 19:51, 29 September 2007 (UTC)"

GA template

Hello. I've noticed that you have used the GA template incorrectly several times, for example, here and here. Please note that the proper use of the template is {{GA|oldid=|topic=}}, as explained here. Please be more careful in the future. --Agüeybaná 02:47, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
