Account

If I understand you correctly, you are saying you lost or don't remeber the password of your old account, but it is still signed in on a particualr computer? It looks like you had an email address attached to that account, if you try and log into it on another device you should get a "I forgot my password" prompt. If you click it, it will email a new password to you and you can go back to using the previous account. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:50, 16 January 2017 (UTC)

I also lost the email password it was the same as my wikipediaa account... --DashyGames (talk) 00:59, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
Most email providers have a similar password recovery apparatus... or just keep this account, whichever. Beeblebrox (talk) 01:43, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
i'm just too lazy to do it haha edit: the old email can't be recovered because there is no recovery e-mail and i lost the cellphone that had the phone number linked to that email --DashyGames (talk) 02:42, 17 January 2017 (UTC)

A belated welcome!

Sorry for the belated welcome, but the cookies are still warm!

Here's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, DashyGames. I see that you've already been around a while and wanted to thank you for your contributions. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may benefit from following some of the links below, which help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page, consult Wikipedia:Questions, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there.

Again, welcome! Arkhaminsanity (talk) 16:07, 18 January 2017 (UTC)

Did you mean to tag this article as a proposed merge with Draft:Sandbox? Home Lander (talk) 21:00, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you (Dashy here, this was because he created an article that said User Jodosma/Boon instead of User:Jodosma/Boon, so i moved User Jodosma/Boon to User:Jodosma/Boon). Jodosma (talk) 21:39, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

No problem. --DashyGames (talk) 21:41, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

NPP and tags

Hi, glad to see that you are trying to help out with new page patrolling. I just noticed that you seem to be placing a lot of tags on new articles. While this can be helpful, it is generally much better to try to improve the article, and adding multiple tags that largely address the same issue can be considered biting the newcomer. If you want to continue to help with patrolling new pages, please read the tutorial at WP:NPP. It is really helpful and covers things way more in-depth than I ever could. TonyBallioni (talk) 02:51, 15 February 2017 (UTC)

Thank you, i've read it now, --DashyGames (talk) 03:34, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

deleted my article?

Hi, I think you deleted my article. Then I saw that I had messages on my talk page, but that is deleted too. Um, why not just edit or make notes or message the person before deleting? Yes, I'm new here. And not finding it very welcoming.Orianestender (talk) 00:33, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

Hi, Orianestender, i did not delete your article, this admin did it according to section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, plus it could be considered spam or an autobiography to create an article that has the same name as the creator, sorry for this kind of welcome, you might now want to read the guidelines and/or use the article wizard --DashyGames (talk) 10:28, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
Oh, and regarding the messages on the aricle's talk page, they were posted about an hour before the article was deleted. --DashyGames (talk) 10:30, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
Regarding my edit on Fay Stender's page. Dude. Did you see who I am? I am her daughter. Is that a reliable enough source for you?Orianestender (talk) 17:06, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
I don't think you're being serious here, even if you are Fay's daughter, you shouldn't make a change without a reliable source that indicates so. Also, being someone isn't a reliable source, since anyone can claim to be someone and vandalize/change the info of a Biography without adding a reliable source. --DashyGames (talk) 18:17, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
You don't think I'm being serious here? You clearly aren't even reading what you're editing, as in the editing section you called the subject "he" when clearly it is a woman. So you're 14 years old and think you know enough to "edit" people who actually know what they're talking about? WTF do I need to bother with this for. I'm out. Orianestender (talk) 18:20, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
"being someone isn't a reliable source." Yeah, this is ridiculous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Orianestender (talkcontribs) 18:21, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
I did not read the article, but I read the source, that says Fay was born in Berkeley, i do not really read articles i revert edits that seem like obvious vandalism or unsourced content to me, that's why i wrote "he". --DashyGames (talk) 18:26, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
I am 14 years old, nothing relevant. --DashyGames (talk) 18:28, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
Oh it's relevant. I'm busy now but am going to get back to you later. You don't read the articles you edit. Yeah, 14 year olds think that is ok. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Orianestender (talkcontribs) 18:35, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
You're starting to do Ad hominem here, please get back to the point, which was changing the place of birth witchout providing a reliable source. --DashyGames (talk) 18:40, 27 February 2017 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, it's important to be mindful of the feelings of your fellow editors, who may be frustrated by certain types of interaction, such as your addition to User talk:77.16.45.26. While you probably didn't intend any offense, please do remember that Wikipedia strives to be an inclusive atmosphere. In light of that, it would be greatly appreciated if you could moderate yourself so as not to offend. Thank you. — O Fortuna! Imperatrix mundi. 07:32, 8 March 2017 (UTC)

Sorry, didn't mean to sound so aggresive, I just didn't know what to type. --DashyGames (talk) 07:34, 8 March 2017 (UTC)
You may not have noticed that the one single edit from this IP was six years ago, so it really doesn't make any sense to have responded at all. Beeblebrox (talk) 08:22, 8 March 2017 (UTC)
Yup i know, i must go to sleep now, it's 2:24 AM here. --DashyGames (talk) 08:24, 8 March 2017 (UTC)

Teahouse

Hello DashyGames,

Your answer at the Teahouse was incorrect when you stated that unreferenced content will be treated as a hoax. I see that you have only been editing for two months and have less than 700 edits. I do not think that you have enough experience or enough demonstrated knowledge to be answering Teahouse questions. Please spend a few more months learning our policies and guidelines, and when you answer a Teahouse question, be sure that your answer is accurate. Thank you. Caution Hi DashyGames. Please stop patrolling articles now – your patrolling does not appear to be in accordance with the instructions at New Page Patrol. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. Winged Blades Godric 06:18, 20 March 2017 (UTC)

(edit conflict)Whilst I appreciate your enthusiasm, wrong CSD tagging even if made in good-faith can alienate many users. Please take a look at the guide(esp. WP:CSD) before embarking on your journey.Winged Blades Godric 06:25, 20 March 2017 (UTC)

Caution Hi DashyGames. Please stop patrolling articles now - your patrolling is disruptive. This is the final request - if you continue to patrol pages you may be blocked without further warning. If you have any questions, ask me on my talk page. KGirlTrucker81 huh? what I've been doing 21:39, 23 March 2017 (UTC) KGirlTrucker81 huh? what I've been doing 21:39, 23 March 2017 (UTC)

so what did i do this time that's "disruptive". --DashyGames (contribs) 21:42, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
You've been warned multiple times to stop patrolling new pages with insufficient experience. You'll risk being blocked or dragged to WP:ANI if you continue to patrolling pages disruptively. KGirlTrucker81 huh? what I've been doing 21:48, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
I repeat, what did I do this time, I know that I've been warned. --DashyGames (contribs) 21:49, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
(edit conflict) You've tagging new articles as unreferenced as clear A7 candidates. KGirlTrucker81 huh? what I've been doing 21:54, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
I don't see that as disruptive, plus i want to give the creators some time to cite their articles before tagging them as A7, as you see with Snyderman Day, the creator at least tried to add a reliable source, am I really doing wrong to the point of my edits being considered disruptive?. --DashyGames (contribs) 22:08, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
Yes, even a tag could bite a newbie especially under 10 minutes of creation. KGirlTrucker81 huh? what I've been doing 22:11, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
A tag does not bite but tells the newcomers what to do to improve their article, and still, I don't see not placing an A7 tag as disruptive. --DashyGames (contribs) 22:31, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
  • DashyGames, your CSD tagging is often incorrect and you are not following the directions for correct tagging. I'm going to ask you to willingly stop doing new page patrol and CSD tagging until you have a better understanding as to how it works.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:41, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
please give me some examples so i can be better with CSD. --DashyGames (contribs) 23:05, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
You tagged Jillian Clark, which consisted solely of "Jillian Clark" as A1 - no context. The CSD criteria for A1 which states "It applies only to very short articles. Note that context is different from content, treated in A3." It should have been tagged as CSD A3 - no content "...articles consisting only of...a rephrasing of the title". Both A1 and A3 are explicit that "Don't use this tag in the first few minutes after a new article is created", yet you tagged it within a minute of creation. There have been multiple concerns regarding your tagging on this talk page, and I really think that you need to take a break from reviewing new articles until you have a better grasp of how it works. At the very least you need to slow down and give another thorough review of WP:NPP.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 23:25, 23 March 2017 (UTC)

Re: Be Careful

Thanks - I am periodically going back and checking to make sure I've targeted the redirects correctly, so I'd have caught it eventually... Chubbles (talk) 01:47, 24 March 2017 (UTC)

April fools pranks

It would be OK for a non administrator to apply a block template for a prank. Just make sure your block rationale is just odd enough that the receiver will realize it's a joke and also you should be certain it is April 1st where they are located. I'm pretty clear on my talk that I reside in the US Mountain Time Zone, but not everyone is that forthcoming. Also be advised there are numerous people that do not find the April 1 tomfoolery to be funny at all. John from Idegon (talk) 15:59, 1 April 2017 (UTC)
