Speedy moving a category?

Hi, quick question. Is there a process for speedy moving a category to match its main article? Or, does it have to go through the CfD? I ask because Category:Tech-noir films should have no hyphen, to match its main article, Tech noir. Thanks. ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 03:19, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

I will do that forthwith. And 48 hours is faster than a week at CfD. Thanks! ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 03:31, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

As I was logging into Wikipedia, I noticed that there was a message on the IP page: 76.116.124.3 (talk) Someone apparently had been using this IP to vandalize an article. Listing deletion

Hi,

I have recently had some edits removed by you and I was hoping you could tell me why. I work with Fortis College (http://www.fortis.edu). Fortis has 27 U.S. locations and is under-represented in Wikipedia. I wanted to make sure Fortis was mentioned in the Educaiton section of every city page that Fortis has a campus in. I included a link to the location page, so a user could not only find out more information about the college, but the specific campus.

Can you tell me why all of my edits have been deleted?

Much appreciated,

Tylor Thermanson (talk) 23:21, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

First of all, thank you for giving me some insight on why all of my posts were deleted. However, I'm not sure why my edits were considered any more of an advertisement than any other college listed. I understand I put Fortis up on several pages, but Fortis has 27 locations. Each of those locations have a Wikipedia page. Each of those pages have other colleges (my competitors) listed. I would think the more colleges listed on each location page, the more thorough and informative the page would be (as long as the school is actually in the city). Is my only option to create a wikipedia page for Fortis?

Thank you,

Tylor Thermanson (talk) 13:36, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Ash

Why did you revert my edit to Ash on the disambiguation page?Northern Irish is not a nationality,an Irish individual from Northern Ireland is Irish just as the same as it is in the South of Ireland,it is either Irish or British depending on the political beliefs of the individual. Here is an example, two English people, one from the south and one from the north, neither will refer to themselves as being "Southern English" or "Northern English",just English.Point taken?109.78.40.153 (talk) 16:58, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Calling them "Irish" is misleading and implies that the band are from the Republic of Ireland. It would be like calling someone from Canada an "American" because they are from North America, whereas "American" implies they are from the United States. Describing the band as "Northern Irish" seems clearer. Or "from Northern Ireland" might even be a better description. ... discospinster talk 17:16, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

I am happy that we agree with saying "from Northern Ireland".However as to you referring to the term Irish as being only limited to the Republic of Ireland and not Northern Ireland is very narrow-minded.The term Irish is accepted throughout the international community when referring to someone from the island of Ireland, obviously it does not always apply to people who hold strong unionist beliefs as it is accepted that they have the option of referring to themselves as British.109.78.40.153 (talk) 17:49, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

If you have an interest in the subject of modern Irish history,I suggest you look up the history of Northern Ireland starting with the Home Rule movement,as an Irish citizen I will admit the modern history of the south is not as fascinating as the north. But to make a point,Sir Edward Carson the father of modern Irish and Ulster Unionism always considered himself as an Irish man,he had every right to call himself British, but the term "Northern Irish" was never used until recently where radical and sectarian elements of unionism started using the term.109.78.40.153 (talk) 17:55, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Category:Passports forged by Israeli agents

I guess it could be linked to Mossad? I don't know, I was just reading and found all these different passports which had been used and thought it might be useful to group them together. Would List of passports forged by Israeli agents be better?

I'll watch your talk page for replies. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.148.136.13 (talk) 00:44, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

It just seems a bit incidental to the passports themselves. The guidelines at WP:CAT say that "[categories] should be based on essential, 'defining' features of article subjects". I don't know if being forged by a particular group is really a defining characteristic of these passports. ... discospinster talk 00:50, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
They're all western passports in good standing if that counts for anything. I mean, you don't see the category added to Rwandan passport. I have to agree, in retrospect, that maybe a category isn't the best way to link them together. I assure you I meant no harm. Have you some other suggestion? At this point, I won't object to you removing the links. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.148.136.13 (talk) 00:55, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
It's mentioned in the Mossad article, which is where it's most relevant. If the incidents of forgery were particularly notable there could be an article about them specifically. That's all I can come up with; even if I created the page for the category, I suspect that it would be challenged as being an instance of overcategorization. ... discospinster talk 01:00, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
It falls pretty clearly under trivial. You're right, and again I'm sorry. I'm going to take my chances with a list in the Mossad article. I'm sure there are more, so I think the sheer volume of forgery is noteworthy, but not in the form of a category. --72.148.136.13 (talk) 01:04, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
Sorry to drop in, I didn't realize the discussion was going on here already and you both had already reached a conclusion... , but I just removed the categories exactly because of the "defining features"! L.tak (talk) 07:34, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi there,

I am typing this message in regards to cycle 15 of America's Next Top Model. I saw the reason why the page was deleted due to the fact that there wasn't a cast announced. Well I have found out today that the official cast has been announced. I'd make the page myself except I don't have much experience with making pages, but I have added proper information before (I'm one of those people who add true information to wiki pages).
