Aflao Rail Siding for Cement
Here is the reference to the Rail Cement Siding at Aflao, which is supposed to open next month (March 2014).

"The 2.5-kilometre railway, on which construction works started in December 2012, is expected to be inaugurated by President John Dramani Mahama in March this year."
The rail line appears to be inconspicuous siding, rather than a busier branch or even main line.
More of your local knowledge would be appreciated.

- Well I know about the stadium stuffs and working on expanding Aflao, when John Mahama was here earlier this year to cut sod for construction of a bus terminal. I've to go to the Factory area and check myself until it is covered in the news (inaugurated) and we provide reference from there. Am also working on a stub for Diamond Cement Ghana Ltd. Sadly, the picture does NOT show the people celebrating the opening of the line with the railway tracks in the same view. Hopefully, the President(s) of the two countries will be more careful when the formal opening takes place in March. Well I can just freely walk into Togo meaning Aflao is not far from Togo, and just after crossing the border you are in Lomé, the capital of Togo. - There should also be a picture of a train in view of the tracks, people, President(s), zebra, etc.
- If at all possible the picture of the train should show the end of the train, clear of any dark shadows, so that it is possible to say what kind of Coupling (railway) and Railway brake are in use.

It is probably too soon to expect Google maps to show the new rail siding to Aflao. A rail siding to Lomé port is also needed.

- Where is the junction of the new siding on the existing line to ?_____?

- There is problems with Google Maps Satellite in most parts of Ghana. It might take longer than expected to view rail sidings. But I quite remember I've mapped the company alright, let me check.
- How far is it from Diamond Cement to Lomé port? via Road I'll say appr. 30 minutes drive.
- Where is the junction of the new siding on the existing line to ?_____? Not known yet.
- How does one tell Google Maps, and Bing maps about this new line? But I thinks my Tracks app from Google can be used to trace via GPS of the device.

Railways and Cement and Wikipedia
Since railway sleepers are mostly made of cement (concrete) now-a-days, I am interested in BOTH railways and cement. :-) Aflao is thus doubly interesting. I particularly like wikipedia because wiki is succinct and indeed trim. Trim is a word that might mean "neat with all in order", as might be demanded of ships and boats, which are deadly if things go wrong. The internet itself is mostly like a " dog's breakfast", a chaotic shambles. Africa has big plans for new and renewed railways, though most of these plans are, according to RailwaysAfrica magazine, just "lines on maps". The Aflao cement siding is one of a very few projects actually built and unofficially opened. Thus Aflao is triply (three-fold) interesting. :-)

Let's start a page for Diamond Cement (Ghana) Limited (DCGL). The factory opened in 2002, so it has managed without a rail siding for 12 years. A few cross-references are needed.

You can self-appoint yourself as wikijournalist for Aflao, and are therefore accredited to ask questions and take photos at the Official Opening of the Cement Siding, where one or even two Presidents may be present. The various wikipages which you are helping to write are "Proof Of Accreditation]] ; we need to make the questions a bit more "Trim".

Opening Ceremony

The new railway siding extension from the Togo Railway system, while small, ought to contribute significant economic gains. [1]
The 2.5km siding ( ___ km in Togo and ___ km in allows cement clinker from the port of Lomé, Togo to the Diamond Cement Ghana Limited works in Aflao, Ghana; this is a total distance of ___ km. The distance from Lomé Port to the junction of the new siding is ____ km.
About 900,00 tonnes of clinker would be carried per year.
Ghana benefits from more efficient transport of clinker, while Togo Railways benefit from increase revenue.
The siding has been built to the Togo railway gauge of 1000 (the "gauge" being all-important the distance between the rails). The Ghana railway gauge is a different and incompatible 1067. Having incompatible gauges is like having to wear uncomfortable shoes that are too large or too small. :-(
Presumably, trains from Togo will run through to Aflao. Drivers might be of either nationality, so long as they can make the whole trip. Similarly, track maintenance for the whole siding might be done by workers from Ghana. Some of the workers at least would need to be bi-lingual. Efficient border customs controls should be provided.
While the new siding is brand new, the existing main line may have needed to be upgraded for this extra traffic. If so, what upgrading work was done.
The siding is expected to be officially opened by President 
John Dramani Mahama of Ghana in March this year. The President of Togo, 
Faure Gnassingbé, may also attend.
Here are some details and questions for technically minded.
The siding is made with concrete sleepers, perhaps using concrete made by Diamond Cement Ghana cement. ;-) The sleepers are:

Please try and get some pictures of the locomotive and its train of carriages and waggons.

Ewe page
Hello, and thanks for your note regarding the Ewe page. A great deal of the history page was copy and pasted from an outlier partisan source, with fantastic mythological characters (Noah et al) and historical events, without any attributions. As all of this is egregiously against Wikipedia guidelines on historical claims, I deleted the offending section. While I appreciate your rationale around the rollback, I had gone through protocol, and left my rationale on the talk page. I'm recommending a watch on the page.
