Week 4/ JuggleY

For this week, I assigned myself a new article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O'Neill_School_of_Public_and_Environmental_Affairs, and because it is my school in my undergraduate school, it is a very good school which ranked NO.1 major in US. So I would like to want more people to know this nice school. The link to the diff is https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=O%27Neill_School_of_Public_and_Environmental_Affairs&diff=prev&oldid=1081784522 . I find it is very useful to add the citation because more people could know what we could like to express although it is only small changes in it.JuggleY (talk) 17:20, 9 April 2022 (UTC)

JuggleY, Your edit does not fulfill the Wikipedia policy of using reliable, third-party WP:INDEPENDENT published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy WP:RELIABLE. Please find and cite a more reliable source, such as an academic journal article or other high-quality reference and then ping me here when done. Please note: blogs, corporate websites, reviews, press releases, and opinion pieces generally do not count as reliable sources. --- FULBERT (talk) 21:11, 9 April 2022 (UTC)

Week 5 / Ida1234567

For this week, I worked on this article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postpartum_depression#Prevention. Since I think PPD is quite common in recent days, understanding how to prevent PPD is essential. I researched how to prevent PPD and backed up the existing material with research. I learned a lot through this process, editing wiki is not as easy as I thought. Here is the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Postpartum_depression&action=history--Ida1234567 (talk) 20:04, 9 April 2022 (UTC)

Week 4 / Ida1234567

For this week, I worked on the article under the area of psychology, here is the link to this article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Procrastination#Psychological_perspective. Week4/Yh3907

Hello professor,

For week 4, I selected articles about feminism and added an in-text citation to the liberal feminism section. You can find the difference between revisions with this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Feminism&type=revision&diff=1082005614&oldid=1081576011

What I learned in the process was that I became more familiar with adding references for an article, and understand that Feminist movements are social movements that cross-class and racial lines. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yh3907 (talkcontribs) 21:42, 10 April 2022 (UTC)

Week 5 / YC5039

Hello, for week 5, I assigned myself Bisexuality as the article that need to be edited. I found this article from the SuggestBot, and I noticed that even people are more familiar with LGBT group today, but most people know more about homosexual instead of knowing bisexuality. Thus, in order to understand this group more, I choosed this article. In this article, I added a citation about the definition of attraction for bisexuality. Here is the link of the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bisexuality&type=revision&diff=1082183011&oldid=1081778118 Through searching, I learned that for this group, attraction exists in various forms and is not limited by gender. In addition, the group's definitions and perceptions of themselves are diverse, and their behaviors and identities are not necessarily consistent. YC5039 (talk) 20:05, 11 April 2022 (UTC)

Week 6 / Sut6777

Hi Professor,

this week I added contributions to two articles.

The first article, linked here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oktoberfest, is about the Oktoberfest and I added that 2014 was the year in which the most beer was consumed at the Oktoberfest. The diff page is linked here:https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Oktoberfest&type=revision&diff=1081608302&oldid=1079383616.

The second article, linked here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meta_Platforms, is about Meta Platforms. I added that they acquired a start-up called Presize. I have linked the diff page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Meta_Platforms&type=revision&diff=1082538705&oldid=1082003789

This week I learned about things that are not "good additions" to a Wikipedia article as one of my edits was reverted by a Wikipedia user. I added to the Krispy Kreme article that they announced to peg prices of a dozen glazed doughnuts to the average price of a gallon of gas, in the light of soaring gas prices in 2022. I added this as I saw that the original Krispy Kreme article featured Krispy Kreme's 2021 promotion where they were offering one free glazed doughnut to customers who were fully vaccinated. But the Wikipedia user reverted my edit because it "is a sales gimmick and not something that will last for the long run." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sut6777 (talkcontribs) 21:24, 13 April 2022 (UTC)

For this week, I worked on the customer service, here is the differ https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Customer_service&diff=1082697467&oldid=1082412104 I learned that customer support has been insightful on some of the strategies for improving customer relations. Hello professor,

This is Erica, and I hope you are doing well. The article I assigned for week 5 is about Confucianism, which is a very interesting topic that can help everyone know more about East Asia's culture. Confucianism is a doctrine of the moral and ethical norms of human society, which can lead us to look at society and human nature from a moral perspective. Here is the version link of the article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confucianism

I added the definition and citation for the Three Obediences and Four Virtues on Women in Confucian thought sessions, which you can find from the difference between revisions as shown in the link below. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Confucianism&type=revision&diff=1082877061&oldid=1082653777 Yh3907 (talk) 16:41, 15 April 2022 (UTC)

Week 6 / Ida1234567

This week I worked on two articles, the first one is about social behavior: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_behavior#The_development_of_social_behavior Here is the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Social_behavior&diff=1082870559&oldid=1075699818 The second article is about sexual harassment: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_harassment#Impact And here is the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sexual_harassment&diff=1082878466&oldid=1078948086 During the editing process, I have a better understanding of how social behavior develops across the lifespan.--Ida1234567 (talk) 16:49, 15 April 2022 (UTC)

Week 5/Alitea10101

Hello professor, this week, I assigned myself a new article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kopi_(drink). I was inspired by the fact that many other southeast Asian cuisine Wikipedia pages are lacking scholarly resources. Many of them have not been updated in years. I really like the Singapore coffee Kopi and whenever I drink it myself I do feel a bit attached to the local food culture. I added a citation saying that the coffee option can reflect how localized the foreigner is. Here is the difference: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kopi_(drink)&diff=prev&oldid=1082908742Alitea10101 (talk) 21:01, 15 April 2022 (UTC)

@Alitea10101 Nice edits. In the future, do not remove any of the articles you assigned yourself in the Dashboard. Current with Week 5. --- FULBERT (talk) 21:09, 16 April 2022 (UTC)

Week 5 / JuggleY

For this week, I decided to add the citation for the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, a 2012 multiplayer first-person shooter video games, the article website is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Counter-Strike:_Global_Offensive#Gameplay ,the reason why I selected this article is because this is my favorite video game and I just wonder more people have a complete view in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The link to the diff is https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Counter-Strike:_Global_Offensive&diff=prev&oldid=1082994282 .During searching and editing the article, I have a deeper understanding for this video game.JuggleY (talk) 10:17, 16 April 2022 (UTC)

the link to the diff updated to https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Counter-Strike:_Global_Offensive&diff=prev&oldid=1083023889 JuggleY (talk) 15:14, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
@Ferret Your edit was partly reverted -- see the comment below. As some of it was kept, Week 5 is still done and current. FULBERT (talk) 21:14, 16 April 2022 (UTC)

Hi FULBERT, JuggleY. I've reverted this source addition again, though I did keep with some changes the addition to the lead. The source in question uses Wikipedia itself as a source, so it's citogenesis. We already have the relevant award sourced in the article prose. -- ferret (talk) 15:25, 16 April 2022 (UTC)

Week 5/ Bf2207

Hi professor, the article I chose this week is still from the art field, about the artist Yoshitomo Nara, here is the link to this article:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoshitomo_Nara. In this article's description of the artist's auctions, I found a lack of credible sources of information, so I've added relevant credible sources of auction information. Here is the link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Yoshitomo_Nara&diff=1082983396&oldid=1070568350.Bf2207 (talk) 08:24, 16 April 2022 (UTC)

Bf2207, This is not the most credible of sources ordinarily, though ok for now. Current with Week 5. --- FULBERT (talk) 21:15, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
