Parli italiano eh? :-) If you'll ever write a list like that, please alert me and I will contribute as I can. Following your criteria, obviously ;-) I've already worked a little with Erwan and I'll be happy to collaborate with you, too. Bold -International for that country. gk-goalkeeper; d-defender; m-midlefeld; f-forward

-Kazakhstan:- JHY UUJH

-Sergey Ivanov ;(f),born1980,Jagodina(2008-09) now playing in Irtysh Pavlodar(Kaz.). Doubt:Transfermarkt says that Jagodina transfered him in winter brake this season to Irtysh. Did he get to play any game with Jagodina? Or was it just "come and go" in the winter brake?

-Morocco:

-Oussama Essabr ;(f),born1989,Javor(2006-07). Doubt:only one site says this,I´ll try to find it.Anyway doesn´t matter couse Javor was in 2.league that year, but cheking wan´t hurt

-Romania:

-Momir Mileta ;(f),born1971,Cukaricki(2000-2002)nowadays in the technical stuff of the club. Doubt:wy did some site put him as romanian?

This list is far from completed. I´m still missing the most of the periods of 1990 to 2000 and the beggining(around 1920) until around 1960. This way you can see what players I already have and see if there is some missing. FkpCascais (talk) 00:57, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the welcome, although in a few days it's my 3rd anniversary here. Personally, no, I don't think lists of foreign football players are that illuminating, but de gustibus non est disputandum. I do have one suggestion: diacritics, please! Božović not Bozovic, Džudović not Dzudovic, etc. - Biruitorul Talk 05:29, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I was not here. This was the end of my holidays, so I will not be so present in the future. That's a good beginning. Just need to add your criteria, diacritics with a simple copy/paste. You did it very quickly, quite impressive. My list took me about a year to do!

To help you: Mihail Rac was born in Ruski Krstur. So probably a Hungarian from Vojvodina. I could not find the others in my guides. I'll do further researches. I'll also do a review of your list and correct it if I find mistakes. Cheers.--Latouffedisco (talk) 09:42, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I removed Tomislav Ivkovic: he never played for Croatia, only Yugoslavia.--Latouffedisco (talk) 10:04, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Looking at your criteria, Yvan Beck should also be in your list as he played for France.--Latouffedisco (talk) 10:16, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Milan Zvarik (not Manuel Zvarik) is Czech.Steven Bozinovski is Australian. Vilmos Sipos played first for Yugoslavia, then for Hungary, should be added. They can be added into the list. Dejan Vukadinovic is Serb. I can confirm you Roberto Karlos is Brazilian; don't know his full name and career.--Latouffedisco (talk) 10:49, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I can't be 100% sure but looks like he is Slovak (I made a mistake). He played for Slovak teams Spartak Trnava and ZVL Žilina.Look at our guy here [1]. By the way it should be written Milan Zvarík.--Latouffedisco (talk) 07:05, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I leave it like this...until new information appears. Those clubs are slovak, but there were also czechs making career in slovak clubs, so, its still really unknown... Thanx for the new guy! FkpCascais (talk) 19:43, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK, that's right, we can't be so sure. For our new guy, he was a Hungarian international. So it was not so hard to find him.--Latouffedisco (talk) 06:49, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have started a different list in my User:FkpCascais/Sandbox. It´s still far from done.

Hum, who are these guys ? I need to do some researches about them. I'll tell you if I find something.--Latouffedisco (talk) 07:12, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Don´t bother. I imagine, it´s not very clear in the text, that they made part of the begining of the club. There are also 2 italians. In the meantime I found more players to the lists, a german(DDR) in Vojvodina in the 80´s, don´t you have him in the albums? And that Anthony/Alfons Delicat is from Ghana, Panayotov apears in the WC62 squads in Bulgaria squad as C.Zvezda player, etc. I´ve put the question in the discussion page of football about international players becouse I used to put the players as they apear in those lists, without thinking that they may not be acurate. Now I must chek all the lists again... I´ve also simplified the criterium part of the lists. FkpCascais (talk) 15:19, 11 May 2009 (UTC) FkpCascais (talk) 15:23, 11 May 2009 (UTC):Hum, Wetzer player for Hyères FC of France in 1932-33 coming from a Romanian club and left for another Romanian club. Played later, I think, for BSK. Otherwise, your list seems correct : Jure Primorac signed for Celik Zenica in 2006, he is the son of Boro Primorac, did you know? --Latouffedisco (talk) 17:13, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hum, after some further researches, it looks like Wetzer played for BSK in 1924-25. Cheers.--Latouffedisco (talk) 17:15, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanx for the info. I didn´t had much time lattely, so the only time I got was to finish my sandbox list. Now is much complete. The unoficial OFK Belgrade website where all the history of the predecessor club BSK is , is now temporarily closed...???...so I´m having even further problems trying to find more about that period. There, as I remember, said that Wetzer came to BSK from ,I can´t remember wich Bucharest club, as already a renamed international player, but didn´t specify the exact years that he spend in the club. In the Yugoslav First League seasons sometimes are written the champions teams of each year with the best 11 of the winning club, but when BSK is champion the section is missing. I know wy, becouse it was a croat that made those squads only for croat champions, of course. In that website there were the winning 11´s of the BSK so I wanted to complete the seasons, but the website is now unreachable for me...grrrr!!!! Hey, great goal of Rennes this weekand! But only 1-1. FkpCascais (talk) 05:29, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Wetzer came from Unirea Timişoara and left for Chinezul Timişoara. His career is quite complicated...--Latouffedisco (talk) 06:48, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You meen, came to France? In his wiki page mentions first BSK and then other foreign clubs. I´ll try to find somehow the exact years/Year he was in Belgrade. Sometimes BSK is written like Beogradski SK . Yes I knew Jure was the son of Boro but many websites put him as french. What I´m really doing in my sandbox list is to put all the candidates, like for the albanian list, I´m puting the kosovar players that are going to be excluded at the end, just so I want confuse them. FkpCascais (talk) 18:44, 19 May 2009 (UTC) FkpCascais (talk) 18:31, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Jure Primorac has probably dual citizenship. He must have came to France while his father played and coached in France. For Wetzer: Chinezul Timisoara - Torekves SC (1921) - Unirea Timişoara - BSK (1924-25) - Chinezul Timisoara - Ujpest FC - Juventus Bukarest - Ripensia Timişoara - Hyères FC (1932-33) - I.L.S.A. Timişoara - Rovine Griviţa Craiova - Electrica Timişoara.
Somebody changed the text of the history of FK Bor and now it says that Galoa, the player/menager in 1920, was part of France NT !!! Don´t forget that foreign names in serbian are written as they sound, so they may be written very different than the original. So he may be Gouloua, or something, but I have now homework for you. To discouver who is this guy, and did he really played for France NT, please. Thanx in advance. I have also found a lot of new players since the last time we have spoken, chek it out. FkpCascais (talk) 01:59, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hum, his name should be written Gallois in French (a quite common family name, which is said quite close as Galoa), but no Gallois appeared for France. Plus, lots of things were added to FK Bor article, but we have no references, so it has little credit by now.--Latouffedisco (talk) 12:03, 6 June 2009 (UTC)== sources for Serbian league football history ==[reply]

Hi FkpCascais,

I'm sorry I don't think I can be very helpful with providing any additional sources. If you're still looking for sources or information, you can try posting your question on a popular English speaking football forum - Serbian Football on xtratime.

Good luck finding more references, and keep up the great work on your new articles! // laughing man 15:35, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Strani igraci u Zvezdi[edit]

Pozdrav, sad sam video tvoju poruku. Pozdrav, --Vitriden (talk) 13:32, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Engelmann[edit]

Unfortunately, no, I don't know him. But it is rather unusual for an East German to have played abroad, even more so in Yugoslavia, given the countries not-so-close relationship to the Warsaw Pact states. Can't find anything on the 'net either. Sorry. Madcynic (talk) 10:31, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Many thanx from FkpCascais[edit]

Hi! Thanks for your contributions. You are doing an excellent work. Regarding your questions, I will answer below.

  • Caxias-SC is a club from Santa Catarina (hence the "SC"), and the club name is Caxias Futebol Clube.
  • Roberto Carlos and Marco Antônio are very common names in Brazil so its hard to tell who those players are.
  • Osvaldo Montero is probably not Brazilian (in Brazil we have the surname Monteiro, Montero is a Spanish surname). So he may be from Argentina or Uruguay.

Hope that helps.

Hi! Check this discussion for Brazilian websites. Futpédia is very good for players who have played (or are currently playing) in Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, Campeonato Paulista, Campeonato Carioca and Copa do Brasil. You can also check Sambafoot, but it is not as reliable as the other pages (it is a French site). AFAIK there is no website listing transfers that happened before 2002. Also there is no website listing the Brazilian footballers separated in countries where they play or played. Hope that helps. Abraços, --Carioca (talk) 21:15, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguating links[edit]

Hello, just a small thing about your football player articles: please don't link the name of the country to "Macedonia" – that page has been turned into a disambiguation page again, and the country page is now again at Republic of Macedonia. It is okay to have the text displayed as "Macedonia" (as long as the context is clear), but please pipe the link to the right article, by saying "[[Republic of Macedonia|Macedonia]]" or "[[Macedonia (country)|]]". Thanks, --Fut.Perf. 08:55, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I am a Hungarian kid, and interests the football! There are rather many so Hungarian players, who are born in Serbia, unfortunately and does not obtain the Hungarian citizenship. This is somewhat more complicated so because of this. I construct the sheets being about the players continuously (from a book), but if there will be players like that between it I put who belong into your list into it then!Well I can recommend some web pages with a Hungarian language from which I am fastidious...

Hi Filip, I see you've created a few(!) pages this month. Svetislav Glisovic[edit]

Hi Filip! I never created his article in the past because of this doubt. In my book, (given at the list of foreign ligue 1 players), he is noted as a striker coming from BSK Belgrade, with no stats, unfortunately. It looks like it is confirmed here. My hypothesis is that he probably joined Stade français, but stayed there a little time, probably before the end of 1946, and then took the coaching duty of Red Star Belgrade. As he died in Paris, he is connected to France in some way...--Latouffedisco (talk) 10:24, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

According to this he played two matches for Stade Français. I looked for informations about his coaching career; it looks like he went to Aris Thessaloniki F.C. (years unknown, probably around the 50's or 60's), and maybe Grasshoppers Zurich (1958, but I'm not sure, I can't find his first name).--Latouffedisco (talk) 17:53, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Croatian footballers[edit]

Hello,

I really appreciate your effort not only to create the articles but also to add the appropriate WikiProject banners. Since most of these biographies are relatively brief and cover lesser-known footballers, I'd say that in 90% of the cases {{WikiProject Croatia|class=Stub|importance=Low}} would fit. {{WikiProject Croatia|class=|importance=}} is also fine if you have doubts about any of the parameters. Note also that for many of these footballers {{WikiProject Yugoslavia|class=|importance=}} would also apply. Of course, you're by no means required to add these, but if it's not too big a chore, it is certainly appreciated.

As for Mar(i)jan Zovko, I could not dig up much. Judging by vjesnik.hr, it's Marijan, but there are instances of Marjan too. My hunch is that Marjan is correct, but I'm not really sure. GregorB (talk) 15:25, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

From this stage I'll continue in English, not because I dislike the Slavic languages but because these discussions are supposed to be clear to all English speakers. Crazy isn't it, no worldy language has borrowed more words than English; let it borrow some more - borrow jebem oca, kurac and jedi govno and the language will further be enriched whilst the rest of us talk freely! :)
From the beginning, whatever direction we all take we must all be in agreement with each other. That means with users Kedadi, Anna Fabiano, Dab, the lot. Emotions often run high when sensitive issues are the topic and as you know, anything remotely Balkan related carries all kind of bitter sentiment. Regading the Herzegovinian footballer where I gave the Cyrillic: I only gathered from his name and his location (Gacko) that he is Serb. Nowhere else does it say it. Remember, being Serb simply implies that the individual identifies as Serb, not that he was born to parents both of whom declared Serb. Bosnian demographics place Bosniaks at about 50% but only 45% of the entire population (Turks included) are Muslim by faith. The 5% non-Muslims declaring Bosniak could very well come from Orthodox and Catholic familes. In addition, the family/relatives of the individual identifying as Bosniak may themselves declare Croat, Serb, Yugoslav, or anything they so wish. Once we know for sure that an individual considers himself Serb, a Serbian nameform is (as far as I am concerned) mandatory. This means Cyrillic and its Latinic counterpart if the headword (article name of individual) is different. As for persons born in Serbia or Yugoslavia, a Slavic form of some kind is again a requirement because it reflects the individual's official name at birth. Nobody escaped a Serbo-Croat Latinic translation certificate, not even those in Kosovo. The trouble Filip, is that some editors see this all as patriots making their mark on inappropriate articles. Not the case though. I have had feuds here in the past including one recently. I withdrew from my stance on ex-presidents and their presentation before things got uglier. But for this it is different, those names are additional accurate information; particularly useful for persons interested in names and their origins. As such, when it is the Albanian, Croat or Bosnian or anyone born outside of their catchment areas, I make the same effort to ensure that their nameforms are included somewhere. For example: Murat Yakin (Turkish), Krist Novoselic (Croatian) and Fatos Bećiraj (Albanian), others too. I have faced resistence on some of these too but principles must be observed and that way, nobody can make accusations against you. You rightly pointed out the Hungarian footballers and I too have seen the presentation for Serbian Hungarian politicians too. As for my little story in the user page, I guess you could say that the names chosen for everything does indeed reflect my disdain for world leaders and countries on the whole, the childish fuss they make and their unwillingness to act maturely. I have a Portuguese friend whose surname is Carvalho, and it had been he who explained to me caralho (his name minus one letter)! I make no secret of it: Ben Zona is Hebrew for son of a bitch and Bat Zona is daughter of a bitch. Everything means something in some language and nothing nice. That's my respect to real world statesmen! :-) Evlekis (talk) 18:00, 3 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, FkpCascais! You're doing a great work creating articles about footballers, but unluckily you seem to wikilink football to Football association instead of association football, which are obviously completely different things. How to fix that? The best way is, probably, via a bot... Whytye (talk) 18:52, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, of course you could just copy and paste right wikilink into the articles manually. Another possibility is using a semi-automatic tool like AWB, however I've never used such a tool since I don't have enough mainspace edits (they require 500) currently. But for you it looks like a good reason to start, cheers! Whytye (talk) 21:21, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lajos Jakovetic[edit]

Actually, I removed Category:Football (soccer) managers from Jakovetic's page because he was already categorised as both a Serbian football manager and a Yugoslav football manager. Unless the person's nationality is not known, there should be no articles in Category:Football (soccer) managers. – PeeJay 09:38, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The positional categories are definitely meant to be used, but since people can be sub-categorised as managers by nationality, we tend to leave Category:Football (soccer) managers empty where possible. If the nationality is unknown, then by all means use Category:Football (soccer) managers, but there's no need if you do know the nationality. Also, I think you should only input years if you definitely know the start and end years. If you only put in years that you're certain of, it gives a mistaken impression. – PeeJay 21:08, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Recent accusations[edit]

Hi FkpCascais, how is it going?

We had a dispute over birthplace naming for a Serbian football player who was born in Pristina. From your POV it was written: Priština, SFR Yugoslavia while from my POV it should be: Pristina, Kosovo (then SFR Yugoslavia) or Pristina, SFR Yugoslavia (present-day Kosovo).

...

To back it up, I'm going to use two examples of Serbian tennis players whose articles follow the structure of what I've just said, take a look at: Ana Ivanović and Jelena Janković.

Thank you. kedadial 13:44, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

...

Shiptari, would not be offensive if it wouldn't be used as something bad in Serbian subculture. I saw the movie "Rane" and the Slovenian guy there is called Siptar when they are throwing stones at him.

Youth careers[edit]

Hi there FKP, VASCO (also) from Portugal here,

About your message, i also agree with your approach. It goes like this, in my opinion: some players, like Cristiano Ronaldo, Diego Maradona, Dragan Stojkovic, Raúl González, reach the first division of their leagues at 15, 16 or 17, but most players in the world "upgrade" to the seniors at 18 or 19. Until then, it's youth career, i agree with you completely. So, if Nikola Zigic played for that modest team from 1998-2001 (aged 18-21 years), it had to be senior, not youth, even if it was in the 5th or 6th division, but i think some people have a great problem understanding that, others are just vandals...

Last week, a similar thing happened to me, when an editor moved Liédson's first two clubs (very modest, they don't even have a WP article) to youth section, i have already reverted.

I also agree that, since we are both mainly interested in soccer and we are both Portuguese, we can help each other when needed. And i also think we can talk in Portuguese, even at EN.WIKI, at least i am not worried if i do so.

Zato sam ovo Svetsko prvenstvo posebno izdvojio i napisao podnaslov "As Serbia". To je sigurno bolje nego sto je bilo, ali vidim da je neko to opet spojio, i stavio podnaslov "As FR Yugoslavia, Serbia and Montenegro and Serbia", sto smatram da je jos bolje, samo se ja nisam toga setio :-). Hello. I was hoping you could help me with this article. I've looked on the web to see if such a person ever played for Karnten (guardian.co.uk has no record of him), Dobrudzha (pfl.bg has no record of him) or Niki Volou (epae.org has no record of him). I'd like to remove at least the information about these clubs since it is almost certainly wrong. However, I am also wondering if the entire article is wrong. The person who created the article is not someone that makes hoaxes, so perhaps the information about his early career in Serbia is correct (but I don't know where to find sources for it). Please let me know if you agree or have any other suggestions. Thank you. Jogurney (talk) 14:31, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent work. I figured that the article was about a real player, and someone had just vandalized it to add the Austrian and Greek clubs. I'll try to improve it as well. Thank you. Jogurney (talk) 20:06, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again. I am going to remove the years and stats because I cannot verify them. I'm also trying to see if the pfl.bg site has any record of Gavran playing for Varna. With respect to the unreferenced tags, I always remove them when I add a reference. Someone complained to me once, but I think it's better to remove the tag so people know that other articles need work more than this one. Also, if I know there isn't enough information in the references to support the entire article, I change the tag from "BLP unsourced" to "BLP sources" which shows it has at least one reference. Best regards and thank you for your help. Jogurney (talk) 20:37, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's explains why the pfl.bg site has no record of him. The archive for the second division only includes 2006-07 and later. Varna was last in the second division in 2005-06. Thank you. Jogurney (talk) 20:48, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I found an article from a Bulgarian sports site that says he played in the Austrian second division, so the Karnten information may be correct. I wish I could find more evidence of it. Jogurney (talk) 22:10, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've moved the club's article. Thank you for updating the club's page - I didn't realize the two clubs had merged. Best regards. Jogurney (talk) 22:30, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Obrigado[edit]

Meu caro FKP, VASCO aqui,

Well, It's uneasy to find English sources for this kind of player. But I've added the source for his international stats from a perfectly reliable source.--Latouffedisco (talk) 13:01, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I can tell you that the Nemzeti SC was a Hungarian football club, which was dissolved shortly after WWII and founded in 1906. They were based in Budapest and sometimes you can find NSC Budapest on the internet, which refers to the same club. But I'm sorry I don't have the dates of birth/death of Spitz. Maybe you could ask User:Gabute who is Hungarian, but he is rarely here, unfortunately. Cheers.--Latouffedisco (talk) 20:45, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Simplicidade[edit]

Abraços, --Vasco Amaral (talk) 21:03, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Defaultsorting of Brazilian footballers[edit]

Hi! Well, according to this, probably Rudison should be sorted as Ferreira, Rudison Nogueira, but ideally I would move the article to Rudison, as he is the most notable person known as Rudison (it is something like Ronaldo, instead of Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima), Doing this would fix the problem with the Defaultsorting. Unfortunately, AFAIK, there is no special rule for sorting Brazilian names. Perhaps a discussion regarding this issue could be started here. Hope that helps. Old Yugoslavia (until 1941) derby: BSK - Jugoslavija[edit]

Oh my god! That's sooo hard to find something, I tried to find something but It's very hard...I can tell you that you're probably right with Rudolf Wetzer. I'm so confused and I don't have some books right now, but, using my memory none of them is related to France, except Wetzer... Again, sorry. Best regards.--Latouffedisco (talk) 17:29, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for you. Well, having a quick search, I found no "Platz" playing for Austria...Do you think about GK Peter Platzer? He was too young at that time to play (born 1910), in my opinion. Cheers.--Latouffedisco (talk) 08:06, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Resposta[edit]

???[edit]

Meu caro, VASCO aqui,

Cumprimentos lusitanos, VASCO - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 00:11, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I just wanted to thank you so much for making the Dušan Belić page!!!
