I am recommending that review of this draft be deferred for a week to allow an AFD to run. There is a stub article Robert Holloway about another person, but it has no references, and I have nominated it for deletion. If it is deleted, we will not need to disambiguate this stub. Thabks very much User:PigeonChickenFish! Kudos to you for your great worker and please pet me know if I can ever be of any assistance. If you have interest Draft:Walker Business College could use some help getting into mainspace. The film Draft:Calling Australia is an interesting subject but I didn't find great sourcing for it. Draft:Cleveland Colbert and Draft:Charles A. Finley are others.. FloridaArmy (talk) 19:58, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
@FloridaArmy: Hi! I was able to work on these. Firstly thank you for identifying and starting these drafts, the topic of African American history has been overlooked here (and elsewhere). I hope we can get more of these drafts through to the WP main space. I wanted to leave you some notes here about these ones - Draft:Walker Business College is still missing some information about the dates of operation. I was struggling on this article because the citations (despite being RS) had conflicting dates. I basically needed to step back from Walker Business College for the moment. Calling Australia is now a WP main space article. Draft:Cleveland Colbert and Draft:Charles A. Finley had a lot of citations and details added, they could probably use a little more info to take them out of start class but they should both meet GNG. Thanks for letting me help! I am always here to help, just ping me! PigeonChickenFish (talk) 04:20, 14 September 2022 (UTC)

User:Timtrent Wow, I mean the second high school for African Americans in Baton Rouge, Louisiana's state capitol. Entire articles cited about its struggles and a state takeover and changing it into a Charter, and efforts to find an operator, and efforts to return it to local control, and at least one football state championship, but hey, I've long pointed out the African American subjects are VERY difficult to include on Wikipedia. FloridaArmy (talk) 19:29, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
I admit my decision to be borderline, but I believe I am the correct side of the border.
You ought, by now, to be aware that I am not biased either for or against African American topics. Low below, my friend, low blow.

Draft:Horace Jackson (filmmaker) - how many rabbit holes do you fall in?

Hi FloridaArmy, I started some digging into this one which, as you know, already has three films that are likely notable but do not have articles. The sources also lead to Wendell Franklin, the first African American to be a member of the Director's Guild. That is, at this point, at least four articles. You do this the ALL THE TIME. Do you also fall into these rabbit holes? Anyway, I am going to try to hunt down some more sources for Horace Jackson and expand the draft, which I imagine is going lead to me more potential subjects. Do you recall off hand if Jackson is still living? S0091 (talk) 19:18, 22 September 2022 (UTC)

It happens all the time User:S0091. Not far above here is a school that I came across working on another subject. One thing leads to another and to another. These are subjects we've ignored.

These are a few that come to mind:

When the films are redlinks, and the high schools they went to are redlinks, and the shows, and often the communities they're from, it makes it that much harder. I didn't mean to give User:Timtrent a hard time above but sometimes I do get tired and frustrated. Please let me know if there's anything I can help with.

The subject of Victory films, war propaganda, is another I just stumbled on. Fascinating. A government film on Japanese internment? How do we not have an entry on that? Or the Draft:Alabama State Sovereignty Commission? I was actually thankful when a source noted a Georgia Sovereignty Commission but upon investigation it didn't get the super majority it needed to grt established. When an entry already exists or I can merge / redirect it, ilI let out a sigh of relief. FloridaArmy (talk) 19:40, 22 September 2022 (UTC)

I (personally) would not categorize it as "ignored" but rather the editor base has "not yet discovered" these subjects. Not the mention, everyone is a volunteer and there's only a limited number of us, each with varying interests and skills, which that limits what be can done. I will get to cracking on the Jackson draft hopefully within a week. I let my newspapers.com access expire so need to renew it. S0091 (talk) 20:44, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
