Please be sure you are reporting vandalism

Re your recent post to WP:AIV [1] on IP 84.13.135.249 (talk · contribs): please be sure you are making accurate reports of vandalism. While you say "vandalism after final warning", the IP only has one warning from ten years ago (2006), so that is completely false, or disingenuous at best. The five edits you must be referring to are all additions to music genres. While there are genre warriors out there, and many are disruptive, the edits are not vandalism. Please consult the definition used at Wikipedia (WP:VANDALISM). False or exaggerated reports waste admins' time, and erode their confidence that WP:AIV is a worthwhile board to check when looking for things that need admin attention. Thank you. I saw the WP:LTA reference in your report. The IP has only two edits from Dec 2006 (the edits that connected it to account User:CharlieJS13 presumably), then five edits from this month, ten years later. I don't see how you can still connect that IP to the banned account. In any case, even if that means you don't need to post warning templates before reporting, you shouldn't be saying "vandalism after final warning" in your report. A brief glance at the IPs talk/contribs jumps to the conclusion "false or exaggerated report". Administrators volunteer their precious time, and decide for themselves what issues they will pay attention to. So again, it's important to reserve WP:AIV for only blatant cases of vandalism, so that admins don't start to ignore it as a pit of boys crying wolf. I hope you can appreciate my point of view. Genre warriors are frequently disruptive and frustrating. I'm not accusing you of being wrong, just injudicious. Willondon (talk) 13:01, 24 March 2016 (UTC)

P.S. I saw your note at WP:AIV about IP 92.5.76.227. This is further evidence that you are right. But I'm suggesting that your report of WP:LTA might be more appropriate at WP:ANI, and that the description you gave at WP:AIV could be seen as misleading. I do my best to preserve WP:AIV as a place to report clear cut cases of vandalism that require little investigation or judgement on the admin's part. Rebel Heart Tour

Being a regular contributor of Spanish wikipedia (I'm latin american myself :) ), since we can't use audio files and such, we tend to overdo it with the pictures on the different sections hehe. Again, I apologize. Hi. I am wondering if you have ever been to the United States or know anything about the people and the topics that you edit on Wikipedia? It is a valid question since you seem very active in some areas where you would otherwise be entirely unfamiliar... Please let me know if you were in New York City in the 1970s or 1980s, perhaps? Madonna sandbox, pics and infobox

Hey! How R u!! It was so awesome to come up with those Tears of a Clown Pictures wasn't it? I also wanted to ask you, I began working on this expansion :D, can I count with your help?? Also, regarding the neverending Madonna infobox picture, the same user that owns the tears of a clown pictures on flickr, uploaded some great pics from the final Australian shows (March 2016) Now we can't use the clown pictures, as Madonna is in disguise on those. But I think one of these 4 could work if cropped correctly. What do you think??

In the report at AIV you claimed that Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/MariaJaydHicky showed that 73.81.147.39 is a confirmed sock. I do not see anywhere in that SPI that 73.81.147.39 has ever been reported much less confirmed as a sock of MariaJaydHicky. Can you clarify? -- GB fan 16:38, 25 May 2016 (UTC)

@GB fan:, it is behavioral evidence of MariaJayDHicky. The user has long since been a disruptive one, doing mass genre changes, false content addition etc for which he was indeff'd, finally banned. This IP showed the exact same behavior from the socks of MJDH, and when reported, started disrupting it. I admit I called him asshole, cause he/she keeps coming back and disrupting. A number of articles have to be reverted now, but yeah, the IPs blocked. It was kind of WP:DUCK actually and I'm thinking whether to file and keep it as an audit that this was another IP? I understand what you are saying, but your AIV report said that the SPI confirmed the IP was a sock. Please be more careful about how you write it in the future. Collins says, "She gave me a piece of music to finish and at first I didn't know if I'd failed the audition..." which strongly implies that he worked or on the album, it is a scrapped track. I'm fine. Chrishm, I have always found issues with the images that you add to articles. Firstly you have a tendency to add images which only you have uploaded, secondly you don't check if the images are facing away from the article or not which per MOS you should, and lastly, you should check that the images don't overlap into next sections when seen through a widescreen monitor. —IB ^{[ Poke ]} 08:08, 31 May 2016 (UTC)

Why do you think that an actual artwork does not identify the song more than a scan of a CD? I'm really failing to understand this concept of trying to replace everything with 7" single covers which do not even identify a content/release. Because an extra cover has not been approved, we end up fighting over whichever should be a sole image a lot. I really think a home country image is more preferable. Using an image from overseas would lead a reader to believe that the song was not individually released commercially in a home country... or would believe that the article is amateurishly edited, especially when a caption is not included. I replaced the promo image with the overseas commercial one at Down So Long. Even I replaced the promo or overseas CD cover with the commercial US cassette one in Vision of Love, where we edit warred. No matter, I guess I failed to convince you otherwise. Furthermore, according to sources, supplies of picture sleeves for individual songs/singles in the pre-compact disc days were limited and costly. To my perspective, picture sleeves apply to mainly albums and were produced into millions of units for mainly albums. Singles? I read that picture sleeves were used mainly for "promotional use only", e.g. given to radio stations and club DJs (?). The sleeves for singles were produced mainly in Europe. Adjustment of caption in Love Don't Live Here Anymore

I don't know whether I should make a big deal out of image captions anymore, especially when you eliminated that part about identifying the edition. I see people changing images or never identifying whichever edition they added. Even I saw people switching from JPEG to PNG, allowing room for image modifications (or remodeling). I added the edition identity to prevent image changes and to encourage praise for authenticity of physical products. Usually image changes on the Madonna articles are done en masse by the sockpuppet of an extremely disruptive user known as ElPilotoDi (talk · contribs) who was banned but still comes back in socks. Cornerstonepicker that is exactly where it fails WP:SYN, you are making A+B = C. Consider a case, CSTF sold 321,000 the first week, another 500 within the tracking period, and 220,000 in second week.
