LG5 Draft Page - ARTPOP Vol. II wording

Hi - I have a quick question about the inclusion of the unreleased second volume of Artpop on the album's page. Though I think it's crucial to include this release on the page for it shows the potentiality of what this project could have been and the genesis of its creation, I think the current way the section is worded may confuse some people. Is there any way we can re-word it to make it sounds more straight forward? Jeremyblass (talk) 17:00, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

Hi @Jeremyblass: please do not add the Cheek to Cheek Tour info without any source. Now coming to the volume 2 info. We can include it in the first paragraph itself and re-write it to make it flow. Currenly also it does not read bad, but the source indicates 2012. What I would feel make it flow better is to talk about Artpop completely including the volume 2, then move to the re-invention and C2C and AHS and end with awards and performances and teasing of producers. Let me find a way to work it out. —IB [ Poke ] 17:03, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
Hello @IndianBio: - does the following draft work? It may be a little choppy but I think it's a good start. Take a look: Jeremyblass (talk) 17:21, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
Sorry please don't place huge block of texts in my talk page. I have deleted this. I have taken your suggestion into account and wrote the first section completelu. —IB [ Poke ] 22:59, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

DYK for List of accolades received by Evita (1996 film)

On 21 August 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article List of accolades received by Evita (1996 film), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Guinness World Records listed Madonna under the category of Most Costume Changes in a Film, for wearing 85 dresses in Evita? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/List of accolades received by Evita (1996 film). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, List of accolades received by Evita (1996 film)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

"Unexplained reversion"

I had already reverted ManuelButera (talk · contribs) multiple times elsewhere and warned him about changing the Portuguese chart to a template before it was shown at the source (as Portuguese peaks do not show up at the link provided by using Template:Singlechart). You revert people all the time without providing an explanation, so for you to do it to me because I didn't provide an explanation as one of a number of reverts to one user is really hypocritical. Ss112 17:14, 19 August 2016 (UTC)

Also, I'm pretty sure "Don't add peaks before they appear at the link destination" is easy to understand. That's exactly what you reverted me for weeks ago. The peak ManuelButera claimed was there by adding the singlechart template for Portugal is not shown at the destination (the place it links to): http://portuguesecharts.com/showitem.asp?interpret=Katy+Perry&titel=Rise&cat=s Hence, you can't use it. Using the singlechart template for Portuguese peaks at all should also not be done, considering none of Portugal's song peaks appear at the pages generated by that template. I honestly am starting to think you have a grudge against me. You didn't even actually bother to check out if what ManuelButera added was right or shown at the link, but yet you revert me for an edit summary you don't understand. Let whatever you have against me go, it's getting ridiculous. Ss112 17:31, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
Just letting you know, I've put in a request that the code for the Portuguese single chart template be changed to a year- and week-based one instead of linking to song and artist pages that do not show the peak. Edit: I know you came up with the idea for somebody to add the Portuguese single chart entry, but this shouldn't have been done on an artist- and song-oriented basis, as anybody would know from clicking on the songs on portuguesecharts.com they do not show the chart data there. Ss112 20:50, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
Final edit: Sorry for all the additions, but I've just looked further down each page and seen that the data is contained there on the Portuguese song articles. I was thinking for a while there you had coded that Portuguese chart erroneously and under the impression that song articles contain the information I thought only the weekly chart pages did. I was under the impression that because the portuguesecharts.com pages do not show statistic data in full before the international charts are listed, as other Hung Medien sites do, that it was nowhere else on the page. I apologise for my misunderstanding, but because I didn't spot that until now, I was under the impression because you reverted me across two pages, you were carrying on a grudge Ss112 21:05, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
@Ss112: hi, its okay buddy, honest mistakes can happen. And I have told you before, I have immense respect for your edits across numerous song/album articles and the great work that you do. And no bad blood ever haha. —IB [ Poke ] 11:04, 22 August 2016 (UTC)

DYK for Taylor Swift

On 23 August 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Taylor Swift, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. Madonna's "You'll See" song page

Please forgive me if I'm not handling this situation correctly. I'm new to wikipedia editing.

My edits to the Madonna "You'll See" song page were an attempt to bring the wiki article into accordance with the source already cited. No addition citation should be needed, as I didn't introduce new information.

Key: The song is in E minor, and the cited sheet music is consistent with this.

Vocal range: The voice goes up to a high C, not a C flat, according to the cited source.

Tempo and Chord Progression: These two items are not specified in the cited source. Does this mean they should be removed from the article, rather than corrected?

Reference

Hi, Indian!. I have a question. What do you think about this reference, it is reliable?. Chrishonduras (talk) 18:32, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

Hi Chrishonduras, Yahoo! is a good website for reliable source, however the author in this case, someone called "Robert of the Radish", is definitely a user generated unreliable content. —IB [ Poke ] 13:19, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
Yes, That's what I thought. So, actually this reference parroted figures of singles like "Underneath Your Clothes" becoming including in the list of best-selling singles or on their own articles. Thanks, Chrishonduras (talk) 00:40, 27 August 2016 (UTC)

Cheek to Cheek

If you were reverting because of what you believed to be a formatting difference then you clearly made a very blind revert that reversed multiple other changes:

  • Writing credits for "I Won't Dance" amended to include Dorothy Fields and Jimmy McHugh
  • Duke Ellington credited as Edward Kennedy Ellington per liner notes
  • Note that "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" is a live performance
  • "Lady's in Love with You" does not include "The" at the beginning of the title per the back covers of Japanese and HSN editions
  • Addition of Japanese CD bonus tracks that were not previously included
  • Specify which countries the "international" version pertains to
  • International bonus tracks are not for all "physical" versions, only the CD (the LP uses the standard track listing, also added)
  • Note that one track was produced by Phil Ramone (not mentioned previously)

Also, regarding the formatting change, listing "Cheek to Cheek - x version" over and over again is ridiculously excessive. Chase (talk | contributions) 20:40, 29 August 2016 (UTC)

American Horror Story (season 6)

Would you mind not making edits with unhelpful comments like this. If you don't agree with something take it to the Talk page and we'll discuss. IF you would've done that in the first place you would've learned of my intention with the information in "Marking". After the show premiere's tomorrow and the theme revealed, obviously that whole section can be greatly reduced which I plan on doing. After. As of now, every bit of the information is tangible and as prevalent as that which comes before it. LLArrow (talk) 22:43, 13 September 2016 (UTC)

LLArrow, just because you think that information will be reduced after the first episode, does not make it comply with WP:UNDUE additions like what you have done to that para. The tag will stay then unless the section is reduced or rewritten to comply with MOS standards. And please do not exhibit this WP:OWN behavior. —IB [ Poke ] 07:38, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
How is that at all opinioned? I'm merely leaving all the information, although a bit bloated, out on the table for interested readers starving eyes. You've got to take into account the specificity of the article at hand. With AHS using such a strict means of publicity this year, people that peruse the AHS: 6 article are desperate to know more about the season, since there is miniscule, concrete substantive additions the reader will be looking to answers as to why there none about the season of the show. After thinking about it, since it is tripping on violation, I suppose the note isn't in error, but I do believe it is unnecessary, since it will be retooled after the premiere. I just wish we could become more collaborative, and discuss broad, general topics, such this, on the article Talk page. LLArrow (talk) 07:50, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
LLArrow I will apologize if I have hurt you in any way. I respect the huge edits that you have done for the article and truly want to collaborate. I just sometimes feel that you get too carried away and forget that we cannot feed every possible information to it (cue in AHS monster reference, lol). Also this comment was not a dig at your addition, I should have probably mentioned that the AHS6 producers are making this out of hand now. You merely added all the info, but which made it WP:UNDUE. I hope this explanation helps and you do not harbor any bad feelings coz I sure don't . —IB [ Poke ] 07:55, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
No, I don't harbor any ill feeling toward you, mostly because I don't approach Wikipedia from a personal angle. That being said, I didn't mean that I was upset with you, rather just frustrated with the situation. I quite enjoy working with you. You are one of the fairest and most just editors I know, and look forward to working with you further. LLArrow (talk) 08:28, 14 September 2016 (UTC)

Shifting subject; unfortunately for me, I won't be able to contribute/edit the AHS: 6 article or watch the premiere:( from tonight until Saturday. I'd appreciate if you'd keep a close eye on it, since I'd imagine, this season more than any other, will be inundated with disruptive changes/unsourced info being added/non-TV:MOS additions/etc. You may need reinforcements haha. There is a separate article called List of unreleased songs recorded by Madonna. Do you think it will be too much to include it here? —IB [ Poke ] 11:02, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
Songs that have third party info about having been recorded (such as if they leaked) can be included. I included "Burn" and "Mountains" and "We Found Love" on Leona's as there was third party info on them. But I didn't include songs which were just written which are included on BMI etc. as we don't know if they got recorded (even though loads leaked most got not attention).  — Calvin999 11:04, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
Okay then I will try to add the info from the page which have third party notability. —IB [ Poke ] 11:09, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

Yeah I just saw the link. Here's to hope we won't get multiple resistance. —IB [ Poke ] 15:05, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

I write this to you, as I got an email from this user, with him seeking help for defining the genre listed in the infobox of the article above. As I saw the dispute about it on the article's talk page, I decided it would be better if I would say my opinion to you, because I'm not very familiar with the other users.

There are two easy solutions to solve the genres-problem:

  1. All genres could be listed in the infobox, even if they're unemphasised by the reviewer or the publication; in this case this would be EDM, vaporwave, dubstep, trap and electropop (new reliable sources suggested by the user to me here (for trap) and here (for electropop).
  2. Only the "solid" genres could be added; in this case, there would be EDM, trap and electropop.

Hope I could help and satisfy the user's message. Best regards, Cartoon network freak (talk) 12:02, 22 September 2016 (UTC)

Confusing edit-summary

Could you clarify what "MOS:DECADERANGE" is in this edit of yours? You didn't link it, and MOS:DECADERANGE is red. DMacks (talk) 10:27, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

Hi @DMacks:, very interesting observation. The mos I was meaning to link is MOS:DATERANGE, and when I look at it now, the date ranges are asked to be displayed in full. I can swear on everything that it wasn't the case previously. We would use the last two digits of the year if a date range was in the same decade, for example 1881–86 and not 1881–1886. When and how this was changed I don't know really. —IB [ Poke ] 10:59, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
That makes sense now. You are not losing your mind at all; until a few months ago, it actually did say what you recall. But then an RFC happened in July (see the italicized note at the start of the MOS:DATERANGE section), with consensus to use full numbers for the end of the range in almost every case. I know a few MOS have been slow to update, so I would not have been surprised if you would have uncovered one that still did recommend the now-superseded format. DMacks (talk) 21:31, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

There has been a response to your review here; please return as soon as possible to see whether the fixes are appropriate, and to add to the review (I'm assuming it's still a work in progress). Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:03, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

I've no idea what is your problem bruv. You reverted my edit in Adele discography and at the moment the same song is in the Singles section table and Other charted songs table. Recording studios on "Alejandro"

Hello, IndianBio

First of all, sorry for my poor english, but I'm from Spain. I've reverted your edit because my reference to the only recording studio for "Alejandro" comes from here (click on cover image, please). Amsterdam's FC Walvisch was the only recording studio where the song was recorded. So is claimed in the liner notes of the single and of the The Fame Monster album.

The record place stated on the infobox from the beginning was FC Walvisch, until the user Jonathan Tessier added Sonic Vista Studios in 29 March 2014. He was guided by the publi-info contained in the official web of Sonic Vista Studios, but nothing is confirmed that the sessions produced quickly on this studio (before a live event from Lady Gaga in Ibiza) has landed finally on the comercial release of "Alejandro". So, the liner notes on comercial single and album must be considered solely the info for Wikipedia.

Anything else, I'm on the spanish Wikipedia, but will visit this site for possible messages. Greetings from Spain. --Paso del lobo (talk) 19:02, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

Thank you for this detailed explanation. I missed that the other user added the info. And seeing my The Fame Monster CD booklet, you are correcct. —IB [ Poke ] 04:38, 14 October 2016 (UTC)
Thanks to your understanding, Cedric. Greetings to you and your beautiful country, India. --Paso del lobo (talk) 08:27, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

Evita soundtrack GA review

Hi IndianBio,

It's now been three weeks since you last commented on the GA review for Evita (soundtrack). Are you likely to be able to start addressing the queries there soon, or should I close the GA and let you reopen it when you have more time?

Thanks,

Caeciliusinhorto (talk) 10:40, 15 October 2016 (UTC)

Hi @Caeciliusinhorto:, the way that my schedule is (I'm travelling) I won't be able to do justice to the review comments and the article. I would request you to close it as failed for now, I would address and renominate in a better time. Sorry for this hassle. —IB [ Poke ] 13:28, 15 October 2016 (UTC)
That's okay. Hope your travels go well. Caeciliusinhorto (talk) 13:34, 15 October 2016 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Evita (soundtrack)

The article Evita (soundtrack) you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Evita (soundtrack) for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. OK Cedric, since you were the one who redirected the page earlier, I am asking your opinion on this. This song is notable (Gold in 2 of the biggest music markets and has a music video too). But I am afraid there is a lack of good sources to really give meat to the article. So Do you think this article is worth the time and effort, its kinda becoming a barrier for Title to achieve good topic status.--MaranoFan (talk) 05:12, 14 October 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by MaranoBoy (talkcontribs)

Hmm... Any specific reason you didn't reply to this? I feel shaded lol.-MaranoFan (talk) 15:30, 15 October 2016 (UTC)

"Swine"

IB, I get the impression you don't live Artpop but do you have any thoughts about "Swine" being nominated for GA status? Any interest in co-nominating? Sorry if I've asked before, I am just looking for articles that would not be too hard to promote to GA status. --Another Believer (Talk) 14:36, 12 September 2016 (UTC)

@Another Believer:, you are correct that Gaga does not impress me that much anymore and Artpop was definitely not my favorite. But I can work on Swine after I finish some GA reviews and nominations. Lets say remind me next week and I will whip up content for it? —IB [ Poke ] 14:39, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
That would be so helpful! Thanks, IB. Here's hoping her next album is of more interest to you. :) ---Another Believer (Talk) 14:41, 12 September 2016 (UTC)

Just a reminder, as requested, if you are interested. :) ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:03, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

"Gypsy" might also be fairly easy to expand. ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:00, 17 October 2016 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Beautiful Stranger

The article Beautiful Stranger you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Beautiful Stranger for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already been on the main page as an "In the news" or "Did you know" item, you can nominate it to appear in Did you know. Congrats! Well done. ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:00, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
