Wonderment at U.S. Constitution[edit]

A couple years back you helped save the U.S. Constitution article from my overwriting, shortening it by taking much of my contribution and placing it into the History of the U.S. Constitution article, for which I am grateful.

Now, over the last couple weeks, Drdpw is doing yeoman work in rewriting the United States Constitution article. No consensus is established for his reorganization, but there does not seem to be any objection beyond my occasional lone remonstrance. It seems to me the article is losing its topical organization of the text, resulting in a mere listing. The table of contents is becoming a wall of enumeration without conveying any sensible information for the general reader. Each section heading contains only one paragraph.

I like much of Drdpw's actual text writing, summarizing the description of amendments in one voice without the back and forth of previous wiki-edits. But I would appreciate any explanation or justification beyond that already made by Drdpw, --- that his reorganization makes the U.S. Constitution article table of contents resemble Lists. I do not find that persuasive, I would appreciate your help in understanding why the Drdpw revision is better than the previous framework. I am happy to concur with the new outcome if I am overlooking something, I was just wondering what I am missing in my editorial insight. Thanks in advance. New HABS backlog[edit]

Have you and I been the only people moving the backlog of images from the Historic American Building Survey, vaguely categorized as bing "New York City?" Because for the record, if you thin this is bad, you should see Philadelphia. Chicago is also big; Newark and Savannah are smaller. So, we've got a mass of roughly categorized, mostly urban, USA pictures. Hey; it could be worse. I think the majority of Commons pix uploaded in the first half of the year had no topical or geographical category at all. So, we shall pick up our little shovels and shovel them down to smaller cats and new ones. Slowly, in my case. Hmm; is this the right place to discuss it? The relevant city Wikiprojects, I guess. Too bad there's no such thing in Commons. There, it's the talk pages of the categories or of our fellow habitual cat wranglers, each of which is too small, or Village Pump which is too big. Merge consideration[edit]

I'm actually thinking of merging the article on the Queens County Farm Museum into the article on the Cornell Farmhouse as a separate section, just like I did with the Queens Office of the Register into the Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning. Oops, I got distracted by other fun including my probable visit to Tottenville tomorrow. Anyway vice versa is the right way. The house is operated as part of the Queens Farm Museum. Apparently someone got confused by the red paint on the west and south sides of the house and yellowish on the east, and called one of them "Adriance" and the other "Cornel". When I visited there with a biker gang a month or two ago (same bunch tomorrow, come to think of it) they looked like different sides of the same house.
