October 2018[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. 75.182.115.183 (talk) 21:54, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did on Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. This violates Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. 75.182.115.183 (talk) 21:58, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@75.182.115.183: He was sworn in today. See this source since you keep thinking that I don't know what I'm talking about. – JocularJellyfish TalkContribs 22:00, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Read WP:CITE. Sources belong in the article, not your talk page. And the source doesn't say he has been sworn in. It says he will be. I didn't say you don't know what you're talking about. I said you need to cite a source. Please do so. 75.182.115.183 (talk) 22:02, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
He has been sworn in. There are multiple sources. JTRH (talk) 23:57, 6 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Neil Gorsuch and other Supreme Court members[edit]

Perhaps you should wait until a consensus is built for replacing nominator with appointer. Right now, nearly all of them are using nominator. GoodDay (talk) 00:45, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator is the correct term. JTRH (talk) 11:05, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@GoodDay: I will refrain from changing the parameters until a consensus has been reached. Where is the relevant discussion being held? – JocularJellyfish TalkContribs 00:31, 9 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@JTRH: That will have to be seen after a RFC. – JocularJellyfish TalkContribs 00:31, 9 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
There's currently on Rfc on this matter at Brett Kavanaugh article. GoodDay (talk) 00:33, 9 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

After pondering a bit more on the matter, I made a tiny change at List of current judges of the United States courts of appeals. I removed 98k worth of tables and trancluded our existing tables in, which eliminates the need to regularly update the article at all. Now the question has NOT been answered on whether that list is actually needed, but at least I have solved the updating problem. I have posted an updated comment at the AfD. Safiel (talk) 02:30, 13 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Safiel: Thanks for the fix. I still think that the page is unnecessary, but the AFD should run its course before anything else happens to the page. – JocularJellyfish TalkContribs 02:51, 13 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Federalist Society membership[edit]

Hey JJ!

Good job on your articles and contributions. Much appreciated. Just food for thought, when you add Category:Federalist Society members and if the information comes from the committee questionnaire, make sure to cite the questionnaire as your source so the inclusion of the category isn't challenged later. Trust me, I've run into that issue myself.

Happy editing! Snickers2686 (talk) 19:37, 14 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
