COA vacancies[edit]

Hey, I see where you put there are two court of appeals vacancies. Barrett is obviously one, who's the other one? Snickers2686 (talk) 00:43, 27 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Snickers2686: Judge Juan R. Torruella passed away earlier today. – JocularJellyfish TalkContribs 01:09, 27 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Barrett taking office at the Supreme Court[edit]

Please note that although Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed by the Senate on October 26 and took her constitutional oath administered by Justice Thomas at the White House on the same day, she only took office after she took the judicial oath administered by Chief Justice Roberts at the Supreme Court. That took place on October 27.

@Sdrqaz: I understand that, but the list of federal judges... page uses the FJC Bio for dates, and per that site, she received her commission on October 26th. – JocularJellyfish TalkContribs 19:49, 27 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@JocularJellyfish: Thank you for pointing that out. I have created a new section on the talk page of the article to resolve these differences as I feel it is unbecoming of the page to be inconsistent with other pages such as the judge's own page.
