Speedy deletion of Santangelo family[edit]

A tag has been placed on Santangelo family requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Connorflanagan (talk) 11:06, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree woth hat you said about the admins being "drunk with power". Usually I find admins on the Net to be pretty good, or they're out of a job soon. Katana Geldar 12:32, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Adoption[edit]

If you'd like, I can adopt you. Basketball110 My story/Tell me yours 04:26, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Great, I noticed you liked Mash and 'Are you being Served?. Where do we start? Katana Geldar 05:05, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

:D Well, first off, do you have any questions? Basketball110 My story/Tell me yours 05:21, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
For starters, how do I create templates? I'm working on a series of articles on the novels of Jackie Collins (she's a hack I know, but there's nothing about them on here so I can do it) and I'd like one of those templates to put at the bottom of the page (once I'm done with the project). Katana Geldar 05:34, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
You could use an existing template, if there is one, or use codes to create something. Most of the times, other templates are used in templates. Do you mean a succesion box (like on Rick Carlisle)? I should be offline very soon, so if you don't hear from me today, that is there reason. Cheers, Basketball110 My story/Tell me yours 05:40, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's what I meant, like that Rick Carlise article, whoever he is. ;) So it's kinda linke infor bozes and userboxes then, you find one that suits then "borrow" it? I'm only seriously starting to wiki recently, though I have used the Wookiee which has the same software (just not as fun) Katana Geldar 05:43, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I've seen an example that I can "borrow", the question now will be getting it it's own page. How's that done? Do I just type in "Template:WhatIwanttocallit" in search?Katana Geldar 06:01, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
You copy the code from the other one (template, or just code on the page), paste it onto "Template:Whatyouwanttocallit" and change what information is different (e.g. name of person, people involved). Before making it a template, I suggest creating it at User:Katana Geldar/Sandbox. When you are done, I'd like to see it, if that could be "arranged". If you need any help, just call... I should be over yonder. Basketball110 My story/Tell me yours 16:53, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Re: It me etc.[edit]

Well, I'll have a look at those articles. If they meet the criteria for speedy deletion, just mark it with {{db|reason}}, and an admin will come along and delete it. About the sig: the color can be changed by adding the following code into the space in "My Preferences:"

<font color="#Color here">TEXT HERE</font>

Basketball110 My story/Tell me yours 21:51, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, how about this... you tell me what colors or whatever you want, and I'll put the code together and test it. Basketball110 My story/Tell me yours 00:35, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How is that? If it's okay, just copy that code into the area on "My Preferences." Basketball110 My story/Tell me yours 03:03, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Is the box in "My Preferences" checked right under the place to put the sig? If not, you need to check it. About the articles. I think they are notable. If you disagree, I would suggest an AFD where users reach consensus on whether or not the articles should be deleted. Basketball110 My story/Tell me yours 13:49, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, i've came across this by snooping through other peoples messages... sorry, bad start to this message... Anyway, your sig, may I make a suggestion? Normally in a signature there is also a link to your talk page. Makes it easier, strange but it is annoying... probably my problem really, anyway, what i am suggesting, is that because your user name is double-barrelled, maybe you could use the first part for your user page, second part for your talk page? For example:
 [[User:Katana Geldar|<font color="#008080">Katana</font>]] [[User_talk:Katana_Geldar|<font color="#008080">Geldar</font>]]

Gives: Katana Geldar

Note that the Geldar part links to your talk page (which is why it doesn't work right now.), so it splits it up, and gives a link to both your user and talk page. Just a suggestion. Regards, Grant ← κεηηε∂γ (talk) 08:06, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the tip about my signiture, I edited as you said/ i'm still fairly new to wiki, as you can see. Katana Geldar 09:36, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Aye no bother, to be honest its not neccesary, you can have your signature any way you want. Just a suggestion. Also, welcome! Im pretty new too. Been registered for a while, but only really getting involved lately. Anything you need help with, message me and I will do my best to help. See ya around ← κεηηε∂γ (talk) 10:00, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

<undent>Also, there are other things you can do with your sig, for example, sub and sup (sub and super im sure that means). Here is some sup text and here is some sub text. Maybe some bold text? or italics? or bold and italic or strike through. Maybe an arrow ↑ ↓ ↔ or ♠ ♣ ♥ ♦ or † ‡ ¿ ¡ etc... Some people have borders round their sig, though i've never done it... test with a sandbox and go nuts! :D ← κεηηε∂γ (talk) 10:10, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:DarioSantangelo.JPG)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DarioSantangelo.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:49, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Purplegate"[edit]

Out of curiosity, what in these changes do you call vandalism? 78.34.141.87 (talk) 03:59, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you didn't clean up any vandalism in your above-cited edit (instead, you restored e.g. your own initial typo of "debarcle"). Nevermind though, I was just nitpickingly pointing out that vandalism has a very specific meaning on Wikipedia, as you're probably aware. 78.34.145.131 (talk) 07:41, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Um, yes, this was vandalism, but you didn't remove any of it, other people did. 78.34.145.131 (talk) 09:48, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just noticed the edit times and figured as much. At any rate, not a big deal at all, I just have a propensity for nitpicking. Have a nice time & see you around. 78.34.145.131 (talk) 10:10, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Puberty Blues (film), and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Puberty Blues. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. MadmanBot (talk) 11:49, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You like my move and rename idea? --Katana Geldar 12:18, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes and no. Lette does not include the book at her own website but "Puberty Blues (novel)" may possibly be considered a joint work by Lette and Gabrielle Carey. Perhaps. Or something like that. Maybe.--Shirt58 (talk) 13:03, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, she does include it. Some ways down the page, but it is there. And there's more merit in making Puberty Blues about the novel and Puberty Blues (film) about the film as it's an adaptation. I almost moved it over but undid it, as I wasn't sure if that would be ok. --Katana Geldar 13:16, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 09:18, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
