Article for Arunachal FC cricketers

I noticed that you had not created article for Arunachal Pradesh's cricketers Amit Kumar (http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/player/1170899.html) and Md Shoyeb (http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/player/1163663.html). They made thero debut in 2018–19 Ranji Trophy Plate Group. Normally you do create pages for all players making debut. There are many similar players in Plate group who made theie debut but do not have any article. Any specific reason or just missed?Shubham389 (talk) 06:59, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

@Shubham389: Thanks for this. Here are some of the reasons I might not have created them. 1) If they have DOB info. I usually wait until this is updated on CI, as sometimes it turns out to be two profiles that have been added for the same cricketer. 2) Some of the plate group cricketers are known by one name (such as this guy). Is that a common Indian name, or is that their full name, such as this guy? 3) I probably have just missed a few! I'll do a sweep of the Plate Group and create the missing ones. Drop me a note of the more high-profile ones, and I'll do them first. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 08:29, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
@Lugnuts: I will check and try to make a list. While I am not familiar with Mizo culture, I checked the name and confirmed through Sportstar News and Official team announcment notice that these are indeed single names. Shubham389 (talk) 10:18, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
Excellent - thanks for checking. I didn't want to assume it was the English equivalent of "Smith"!" Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 10:22, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
@Shubham389: - solved the mystery behind Amit Kumar. He wasn't on the scorecard as a debut at the time of the match, but has been updated at a later time. I've created his page. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 10:31, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

So currently did work for Arunchal and Mizoram's cricketers. All Arunachal cricketers have a articale. List of Mizo cricketers without a article:

If you are busy, I can start in 2-3 days. Shubham389 (talk) 14:56, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

Great - I'll sort them out later this evening. Thanks for your help. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 14:57, 3 October 2019 (UTC)
@Shubham389: - all done. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 16:50, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy Group B

Just a heads-up. All the abandoned games have been rescheduled (i.e. all games except yesterday's Himachal-Odhisa). 2 rescheduled games scheduled today also abandoned. Schedule of all the future games remains the same. Games have been rescheduled in off-days. As you wrote it's a awesome group especially since it had not rained in Vadodra since 30-Sep. Rescheduled games:

03-Oct-19 Elite-Group-B Punjab Odisha Abandoned
03-Oct-19 Elite-Group-B Maharashtra Uttar Pradesh Abandoned
06-Oct-19 Elite-Group-B Punjab Haryana
09-Oct-19 Elite-Group-B Baroda Punjab
11-Oct-19 Elite-Group-B Delhi Vidarbha
13-Oct-19 Elite-Group-B Maharashtra Himachal
13-Oct-19 Elite-Group-B Baroda Odisha

Shubham389 (talk) 13:34, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

Thanks! I'll sort that out soon. I worked through the Plate Group yesterday. Fingers cross for some play. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 13:35, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

As ever thanks

Hello L. I hope you are well. Thanks for this. I think some people have missed the meaning of the word "short" as they add these to articles :-) FYI the Criterion Collection release of Local Hero is wonderful. Have a great week. MarnetteD|Talk 16:19, 6 October 2019 (UTC)

Hi MarnetteD. I'm good thanks, hope you are too. Yes, short is short! I'm a sucker for any retro compilation shows, with the BBC showing "I Love 1981" last night, hence the edit. And Clare Grogan was in the greatest British comedy of all time too. Have a good week too. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 16:28, 6 October 2019 (UTC)
Clare was absolutely the greatest Kochanski in that greatest comedy!!! She is also a delight in Comfort and Joy. Cheers. MarnetteD|Talk 16:33, 6 October 2019 (UTC)

Shigeo Takahashi

This is a strange one. I have moved Zenjiro Takahashi to Shigeo to match the Japanese wiki, since 高橋 成夫 is definitely not Zenjiro. Instead Zenjiro Takahashi appears to be a different person who plays water polo with the name 高橋 善次郎. The Japanese wiki points this to the Shigeo article since they also use sports-reference as a source. I suspect that they're mistakenly conflating two separate people into one entry like with Ko Nakamura and Toyoko Yoshino, so Shigeo Takahashi is only a swimmer. —Xezbeth (talk) 12:07, 7 October 2019 (UTC)

Thanks again for your work in this area. Always appreciated. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:12, 7 October 2019 (UTC)

Help with IP editor who is repeatedly adding incorrect data

Hi there. On the Nepal national cricket team article, I have seen the same IP address edit the stats three times in the last few days. They keep adding non-existent 'no results' to the infobox and results summary section. The references clearly show Nepal have played 26 T20Is (as of today), including 3 no results, but they keep adding three further no results. I have been changing it back and adding comments in the edit history but it is getting annoying. Is there anything that can be done about the IP user? Bs1jac (talk) 13:17, 7 October 2019 (UTC)

Actually the IP address today (twice) is 49.244.20.16, but it was another beginning with 49.244 previously. Bs1jac (talk) 13:18, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
@Bs1jac: If it continues, then the best thing is to request for page protection. Just play the game, let it run for a few more days, and it it continues you have the evidence to get the page locked for a time. The next step would be looking at an IP rangeblock. Your signature and WP:HTML5

I noticed that your signature uses obsolete WP:HTML5 formatting. Specifically, the HTML tag <font>...</font> was deprecated with HTML 5, and obsolete HTML tags run the risk of creating readability issues in the near future when old HTML tags get retired from MediaWiki, so editors are trying to fix formatting issues whenever possible. To fix it, I took the liberty of amending the HTML tag to '''[[User:Lugnuts|<span style="color:#002bb8;">Lugnuts</span>]]''' [[User talk:Lugnuts|Fire Walk with Me]], which renders as Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me Please let me know if that works for you, or if you'd like, I can try to format it another way. Cheers! OhKayeSierra (talk) 04:56, 8 October 2019 (UTC)

Short Descriptions

Hi Lugnuts, I'm familiar with the short description documentation, but I've seen varying interpretations of just how short they should be. For Transit (2018 film), I'd propose "2018 German drama film" as a compromise if you think "2018 drama film by Christian Petzold" is unreasonably long. How does that sound? Sdkb (talk) 07:27, 10 October 2019 (UTC)

Nein. Per the info page - "The short description should be as brief as possible". Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:30, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
Well, right in the next sentence it mentions a "target of 40 characters", which my proposal stays under.Sdkb (talk) 03:39, 11 October 2019 (UTC)
"A target of 40 characters has been suggested..." So who suggested it? And when? I'll suggest 15 characters. Or 9 characters. Or 12. So still nein. I refer you back to the first part - "The short description should be as brief as possible". Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 05:46, 11 October 2019 (UTC)
It sounds like you're rather stuck to your particular interpretation. Per WP:JUSTDROPIT it's not worth my effort to fight you on this, but if others come along, I encourage you to try being a little more flexible. Sdkb (talk) 20:09, 11 October 2019 (UTC)

Shpageeza League

Hi - Do you know if the 2019 edition of the 2017 Shpageeza Cricket League has an article? The event is halfway through and I havn't found anything but don't want to duplicate. This is the 'regional' level t20 in Afghanistan that was first T20 status in 2017, then I don't think happened in 2018. Bs1jac (talk) 19:20, 10 October 2019 (UTC)

Pretty sure it hasn't, was just surprised that you had missed one! I'll start it now. I only recently noticed that Afghanistan now has a three-day first class event and a list A event for selected provinces, as well as the regional level 4-day, 50 over and t20. Bs1jac (talk) 19:23, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
Hi. Yes, I noticed it started a few days ago, but thought it was more franchise-based with overseas players, so I wasn't that bothered about starting it TBH! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 19:25, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
The last edition had overseas players but, but this time there only seems to be the odd overseas player involved. They now have the Afghan Premier League which is the IPL/BBL/CPL/PSL style franchise league, leaving the Shpageeza as more of a purely domestic event. It is official T20 though, just like the T20 Blast, so worthy of an article. Confusing structure with the APL, then these regional teams playing FC, LA and T20, and also some provinces play a seperate LA event and a 3-day FC event; A bit like in South Africa I suppose. Would you mind having a quick look at the debutants in case there is anything you need to add to the existing player pages? Also there is one so far that doesn't have an article and another just called Ibrahim that I am not sure about. Bs1jac (talk) 20:51, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
Actually I see you found the same guy during one of Afghan's recent LA competitions, and just left it the same as I have, i.e. unlinked. Bs1jac (talk) 21:09, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for your work on this. I'll keep an eye on anyone who debuts. Nice work! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 05:44, 11 October 2019 (UTC)

Asking for help regarding an editor - possible edit war

Hi Lugnuts,

I would like to seek help regarding a user, DiscoSlasher, who has been I thinking warring with me at the Jojo Rabbit page. He thinks it's not a Fox Searchlight production but the fact is that only Disney has been distributing Fox films now that they own Fox. Meaning Fox Searchlight is now only a production company, not a distributor. Similarly, he has removed the US as a country of production despite me adding four sources to prove it's such. We have reverted our edits at least three times in a 24h period. In my second revert, I told the user to take the issue to the talk page but he didn't and reverted to the version as he wanted. I would need more help regarding this issue, if possible. Daerl (talk) 07:49, 11 October 2019 (UTC)

Hi. Best not to revert any more edits and use the article's talkpage to discuss. Also drop a note at the film project to get more eyes invovled. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:55, 11 October 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice, but another problem is that I told the user in an edit summary to take it to the talk page for discussion but he refused to do so and just reverted my edits. How can I co-operate with him if the other user won't? For what it's worth, I made an entry in the article's talk page already but no one has yet to discuss it, including DiscoSlasher himself. I will make another entry at WT:FILM, that being said. Daerl (talk) 08:26, 11 October 2019 (UTC)

Fun fact

@Lugnuts and Bs1jac: I hear people say South Africa and New Zealand are the worst chokers in cricket. But if you look at 2019 Caribbean Premier League, Guyana seems to surpass them. They won all the matches except the final. And also they played the finals the most times and never won the trophy. Human (talk) 02:20, 13 October 2019 (UTC)

The old saying: To finish first, first you must finish! For the record, I count New Zealand as being consistent, and not chokers. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 06:09, 13 October 2019 (UTC)
And now India seems to another team in the chokers list, viz 2015 WC semi-final loss against Australia, 2016 ICC World T20 Semi-Final loss against West Indies, 2017 Champions Trophy Final loss against arch-rival Pakistan, and now 2019 WC Semi-Final loss against the Kiwis. Aditya tamhankar (talk) 09:27, 14 October 2019 (IST)
@A Simple Human and Bs1jac: Cricinfo filed this under "Another T20 tournament"! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:00, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
Not another franchise thing! At least this one won't interfere with real club/international cricket as the players will all be retired already! Bs1jac (talk) 12:05, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
I'm going to call it early and say this will end up like the Euro Slam one and eventually not happen. You read it here first! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:07, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
@Lugnuts and Bs1jac: Something like this did take place before with retired players. Funny that the ESPNcricinfo article says it will feature teams from only test countries and doesn't feature one from one of the first test playing nation England. Human (talk) 12:57, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
We don't waste our time with such things... Maybe England Legends are going to play New Zealand Legends at The Hundred (without boundary count-back of course!) Bs1jac (talk) 13:03, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
@Bs1jac and Lugnuts: I wonder how this T10 thing is running so smoothly. I thought it'd be an instant fail. Let's see how the Hundred does although I'm against it. Human (talk) 15:33, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
Ditto. No interest in T100 or T10. Although the T-1000 playing T20 might be fun to watch. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 15:35, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

ICC name change

May I know why did you move the ICC Men's world cup and qualifiers article to the previous name. You gave example of 2019 Worldcup, which is not relevent. The name is changed form 2020. All ICC tournaments will be now seperately distinguished, the male tournament will be Men's and female will be Women's. The official logo which is used in the article itself shows MEn's T20. Where is controversy? What are you trying to say, even the reference one give you all information about name change. Dey subrata (talk) 11:59, 19 October 2019 (UTC)

For the same reason the cricket teams are sans the "men" part of their names. It's the India national cricket team, not the India men's national cricket team, for example. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:01, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
Does not matter, if its India men's team or India team. The official name is now ICC Men's T20, that what matters.(Primary justification) And it does not create any kind of confusion rather more clear that the tournament is of men's (secondary justification). If you had any problem in displaying the "Official name" then you should have gone for WP:RQM not me because you have confusion with official name(God knows why). For you clarification let me give you some examples. AFC U-19 Championship previously called as AFC Youth Championship, or FIFA U-20 World Cup previously know as FIFA World Youth Championship. These does not make thing confused rather clear. Dey subrata (talk) 14:47, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
The men's article for the Cricket World Cup is at Cricket World Cup. The women's article is at Women's Cricket World Cup. Using your FIFA example, guess where the men's article is at? Yep, FIFA World Cup. The women's article is at FIFA Women's World Cup. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 14:51, 19 October 2019 (UTC)
I am not talking about if FIFA world cup writing men or not. I am saying about OFCCIAL NAME, you can't use any other name then offcial, it as simple as that. FIFA world cup is FIFA world cup because its offcial. ICC Men's T20 World Cup because its official. And I don't see any confusion in it or it must be due to patriarchal mind set. I just created Draft:Tawny Banh and Draft:Khoa Nguyen. There are so many table tennis Olympians without articles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.149.246.163 (talk) 18:09, 26 October 2019 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for this. There are approx. 40 people who played table tennis at the Olympics, but don't yet have an article. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 18:12, 26 October 2019 (UTC)
  • Interesting. Is it the most ignored sport on Wikipedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.149.246.163 (talk) 18:14, 26 October 2019 (UTC)
Well in terms of missing Olympians, it's actually quite a way down the list. Speed skating (200+), weightlifting (120+), handball (100+), water polo (90+) and archery (70+) are the top five right now. I've added several thousand missing biographies over the years. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 18:18, 26 October 2019 (UTC)
  • Wow, quite impressive. It's equally impressive that you know the numbers of missing articles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.149.246.163 (talk) 18:28, 26 October 2019 (UTC)

Short version

  • was reading wp:stub talk page
  • saw that stub is supposed to be after cats.
  • went back to when I started doing them for films
  • saw you reverted some
  • I followed your lead as an example - and removed stubs from a fair number of them.

You're more generous than I would normally be, but I figure you've been working on the film project a lot longer than I have, and produced a ton of content for it. So I tried to follow suit. Not sure why I felt a need to come tell you - but Cheers anyway. — Ched (talk) 00:52, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

Rats I was afraid of that L. Lets try this one though it may have the same problem. Do you have the DVDs? The commentaries by the cast and crew are almost as funny as the episodes themselves - especially for those first 12 episodes. Cheers. MarnetteD|Talk 17:22, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
That works - thanks! Yes, I have the DVDs, including the ones that came with the little Starbug and skutter toys, hehe. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:24, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
Sweet. Those toys weren't part of the DVD releases over here :-( Speaking of the skutters it was very naughty of the Ironman films to not have an acknowledgement of the Red Dwarf designers in their credits. MarnetteD|Talk 17:35, 29 October 2019 (UTC)

This is horrible. One of my favourite cricketers (because I'm also a Bangladeshi) has been suspended for two years. A bad news to start a day with (It's morning in Canada). Human (talk) 13:49, 29 October 2019 (UTC)

Morning. Yes, very sad (and surprising) news. Quite shocked to see that come through. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 13:52, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
This was certainly a shocker... feeling sorry for Bangladesh fans. Unfortunately there still seems to be a lot of it going on, but for a high-profile captain like Shakib to be involved it is certainly more surprising than the problems that the UAE squad are having! Bs1jac (talk) 12:55, 31 October 2019 (UTC)

@Bs1jac: The difference is that the UAE players actually did fixing, whereas Shakib denied the booker but didn't inform anyone. Anyways ICC might reduce it to one year after he admitted his mistake. Human (talk) 15:57, 31 October 2019 (UTC)

The top scoring batsman and the most wicket taking bowler in the match for Hong Kong's innings wouldn't have changed regardless of the result so why did you delete my edit and add it back again for yourself Ek1607 (talk) 19:04, 30 October 2019 (UTC)

Because WP is not a live-news ticker. Updates are made at the end of a completed innings, not mid-innings. And this edit was made five minutes before the end of the match. Yes, Oman were almost certain to win from that point, but they still could have lost. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 19:06, 30 October 2019 (UTC)

I've added the table for final standings as well with teams ranked from 7th to 14th. Hope you don't have a problem. Ek1607 (talk) 19:14, 30 October 2019 (UTC)

Misplaced external link

In this edit you changed a correctly formatted reference into a misplaced external link. Please don't do that. --David Biddulph (talk) 10:53, 3 November 2019 (UTC)

@David Biddulph: Ahh, my mistake. I was reverting the previous personal attack. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 10:57, 3 November 2019 (UTC)
I see that you had similarly added misplaced external links at Deaths in June 2019 and at Deaths in 2019, for example. Please don't. --David Biddulph (talk) 11:05, 3 November 2019 (UTC)
They look fine to me. You can use WP:REFILL to expand them, if needed. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:09, 3 November 2019 (UTC)
It is not my job to get them right. Please read about external links and about references, if you have not done so already. --David Biddulph (talk) 11:15, 3 November 2019 (UTC)
"It is not my job to get them right" ditto for me. I fix dozens of refs with WP:REFILL without the need to use personal attacks or complain about it. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:17, 3 November 2019 (UTC)
There is a difference between a misplaced external link and a bare url in a reference. Edits like this, and this, and this are all misplaced external links; they are not references. To point out your repeated errors is not to make a personal attack. --David Biddulph (talk) 11:28, 3 November 2019 (UTC)
Well this is clearly a personal attack. I reference everything I add. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:02, 3 November 2019 (UTC)

Nepal vs MCC

Hi. This is to let you know that a couple of players made their first class debut in this match. Human (talk) 23:21, 6 November 2019 (UTC)

Hi. Not 100% sure these are first-class matches. CI was showing the 50-over matches between MCC and Nepal as List A, but changed them to other. It should be more clear once they've been completed. I suspect they are not FC, and can have 14/15 players per side in an innings. I've got my eye on the scorecard, and will see what happens. Thanks! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:48, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
Ahh, the MCC states it DOES have FC status! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:59, 7 November 2019 (UTC)

Hey, I was wondering if anyone would regard it as too trivial. But I included it precisely because it is included in the List of Australia Twenty20 International cricket records. It won't always be there, of course, but it will be in the source for the conceivable future: it goes right down to seven balls remaining![1] StAnselm (talk) 22:36, 8 November 2019 (UTC)

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

Adding reviews to film reviews

I added some of what Stanley Kauffmann wrote about to the article François Truffaut: Stolen Portraits. I saw you edited the article afterwards and that you also created it.

Sometimes I have been adding parts of reviews of Kauffmann and the recently deceased John Simon. I own books written by each of them and used to read these critics for many years when they wrote for The New Republic and National Review respectively.

Besides the books they have written, I have using The New Republic's archives and rottentomatoes.com for Kauffmann reviews. A couple of things-

1- Should I use critical response or reception for the title of sections only containing film reviews?

2- Is it all right to use rottentomatoes for a source?

Thanks for any input. Simon passed away on Sunday BTW....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 23:38, 26 November 2019 (UTC)

@WilliamJE: - thanks for your updates and input to the article. Short answer to your questions: Yes and Yes. More info can be found at the Film MOS here about the section heading and sourcing. Critical response is fine. Thanks again. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 08:22, 27 November 2019 (UTC)

When you retargetted Tommy (album) from Tommy (The Who album) to Tommy, you may have overlooked WP:FIXDABLINKS. The change broke 369 links. Most have already been fixed, by hand, by others; but, I know from experience how much work that involves. Narky Blert (talk) 02:21, 28 November 2019 (UTC)

Henry van Straubenzee

Hi there. About this edit, could you have a look at the note I left on the talk page here? That explains why I put the hatnote. Currently, people searching for Henry van Straubenzee from certain popular search engines will get a conflation of results. I was thinking that the hatnote would help clear up any confusion. FWIW, the younger Henry van Straubenzee is mentioned in his brothers' articles: Thomas van Straubenzee and Charlie van Straubenzee. I do think at least mentioning the grandsons in the article would help, even if the hatnote is going too far. Do a search engine search for 'Henry van Straubenzee' and see what you think. Every time, around this point in the year, a batch of news stories emerges about the Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund events (and various royals attending it). And if you look at the pageviews, the peaks on people viewing that article coincide with memorial events or mention of the younger person in the news in connection with the royal family connections. Carcharoth (talk) 17:58, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

Hi. Per WP:NOARTICLE we shouldn't have a hatnote to a non-existent article. I don't think it's a WP (internal) problem about what external search engines bring back in their results. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 18:16, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
An example from today's main news (in the UK) is this vile individual. Lots of searches for him via the main search engines for news stories, while our only article with the same title is for an American academic. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 20:52, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
That is a good example. On reflection, you are right here. No hatnote. I'll see what content is appropriate for the articles (the memorial events get enough coverage that some mention of those in the right places might be justified). Carcharoth (talk) 23:40, 7 December 2019 (UTC)

Rashid Khan (Nepal)

This player had an article before and it was deleted as it failed WP:GNG. Now that he made his T20I debut, I think his article should be recreated. All other international players of Nepal has article except this player and i think he might be selected to play in the upcoming tri series in 2020 featuring Nepal. Human (talk) 23:35, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

Also the player Raja Farzan has been selected in PSL and he made his T20 debut in Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy. Similarly, another player Abdul Nasir is also selected in PSL and he has played first-class and List A cricket before. Human (talk) 03:38, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
Morning! I've created Rashid Khan's page. Looks like he'll be part of the bronze medal winning squad too, unless there's a very big upset! Please can you give me the cricinfo pages for the other two, and I'll create them later today. I was looking at the PSL yesterday, but wasn't 100% sure which CI profile was correct. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 09:05, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
@Lugnuts: Uh no. Forget about the second player, it's someone else. But I'm pretty sure the first player is this one here. He played for Lahore Qalandars in Abu Dhabi and got drafted into the same team. Human (talk) 17:46, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
Thanks. The article already exists here. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 18:14, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
Yes but it was created a few hours ago. And it doesn't have the CI profile link. Human (talk) 19:04, 7 December 2019 (UTC)

Dilbar Hussain

The article Dilbar Hussain has been created again despite failing WP:GNG. I noticed that there was a discussion for deletion of this article previously. I also think the creator of this article is a sockpuppet of User:Fayyaz Anwar as there name is similar and both created the article. I notified this to User:Spike 'em and just letting you know. Damon Runyon's short story "Dancing Dan's Christmas" is a fun read if you have the time. Right from the start it extols the virtues of the hot Tom and Jerry

This hot Tom and Jerry is an old-time drink that is once used by one and all in this country to celebrate Christmas with, and in fact it is once so popular that many people think Christmas is invented only to furnish an excuse for hot Tom and Jerry, although of course this is by no means true.

No matter what concoction is your favorite to imbibe during this festive season I would like to toast you with it and to thank you for all your work here at the 'pedia this past year. Best wishes for your 2020 as well Lugnuts. MarnetteD|Talk 18:07, 16 December 2019 (UTC)

Chinese films' database

I don't have sufficient knowledge about Chinese films or websites. Is there any place where I can find out the names of the the producers, production companies and distributors of the film Sheep Without a Shepherd, so that I can add it in the infobox. 137.97.37.58 (talk) 10:00, 27 December 2019 (UTC)

Hi. I'm not that familar with Chinese cinema either TBH. But drop a note here to see if anyone else can help. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 15:13, 27 December 2019 (UTC)

Attendances column on 2019-20 BBL Page

Can you please explain why you decided to revert it when it has been used in every BBL season so far? Or is it that you suddenly make your mind in 2019 that you have to change certain things on the Wikipedia (which eventually did not come to your mind in 14 years of your Wikipedia career)? 42.110.128.172 (talk) 03:13, 28 December 2019 (UTC)

That brought back memories

Hi L. So that Deadweights stuff wasn't as elaborate as this treat User:Rhododendrites/Chaney from a few years ago but it was in the neighborhood :-) Cheers and have a good weekend. MarnetteD|Talk 12:40, 28 December 2019 (UTC)

Wow, that's crazy! Almost as crazy as the Deadweights hoax being around for twelve years. Have a good weekend too. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:45, 28 December 2019 (UTC)
Thanks L. The amount of research everyone who worked on that one put in was amazing. MarnetteD|Talk 12:53, 28 December 2019 (UTC)

Harry Carey actor

As a watcher of old movies I was interested to see that the Beyond Christmas (1940) movie isn’t credited anywhere amongst the actors or the film itself...I often search the actors and see what happened to them via Wiki. Anyway thought it should be: Also Stars the actors: Richard Carlson Jean Parker C. Smith Central Dibs (talk) 21:56, 28 December 2019 (UTC)

1970 asian games hockey

It is requested that information provided about baldev singh is not the actual baldev singh who represented indian hockey team in 1970 asian games. I corrected it but it was considered as vandalism. Kindly correct it as i am sending you the proofs and the information i corrected on email. Thank you Baldev Rand (talk) 16:37, 30 December 2019 (UTC)

Hi. If there's another subject with the same name, then the article should be started at Baldev Singh (field hockey, born 1943). Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 16:40, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
