December 2007

Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Ron "NEFF-U" Feemstar. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Dups

Come on, man. Stop creating the same article on multiple titles. Please read this moan. -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 18:15, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Did you actually read the above? Why on earth did you create "Just A Friend"? A) we already had "Just a Friend" and b) we do not create titles with " (quote marks) around them anyway. -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 19:14, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism

Now you have taken to pure vandalism. Just a Friend was about a totally different song, but you throw away the content and replace it with your own pet subject. Try again, creating Just a Friend (Mario song) for goodness sake. -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 19:29, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

  • I have blocked you very briefly. Please take time to consider what you are doing. This edit and this edit were both close to vandalism. In the case of the second one: a) I do not think we need to link to each song three times and b) if you must link, you place the quotes outside the link brackets thus: "C'mon". Is that really too difficult for you? You have already been told that we do not put quotes in titles. -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 19:45, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

You could try converting Just a Friend into a disambiguation page or just put "For the Mario song, see Just a Friend (Mario song)" at the top. Do not try and make the page serve two completely different purposes. -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 19:49, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Future Album, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Rocksanddirt (talk) 00:09, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Future Album

A tag has been placed on Future Album requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Jons63 (talk) 00:36, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Knightwritaz

A tag has been placed on Knightwritaz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. SmashvilleBONK! 19:34, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Drama Family Entertainment requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Bagheera (talk) 23:05, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Mario (singer)Mario.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Mario (singer)Mario.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:11, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

That resolution of the image you uploaded was too high. Album and single covers should be between 200px-300px, your version was 450px. Rappingwonders (talk) 16:03, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Mario.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Mario.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:14, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Mario's Fourth Studio album

An editor has nominated Mario's Fourth Studio album, an article which you have created or worked on, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mario's Fourth Studio album and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:59, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Mario Bom.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Mario Bom.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Σxplicit 03:14, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

In what source does it say who has written/produced each song? i have checked the sources none of which give a comprehensive list of producers/writers (Lil-unique1 (talk) 01:06, 28 September 2009 (UTC))

Greetings!

I saw the work you did on a discography page, and the really interesting layout here on your talk page! Hope you don't mind if I rip off some of the little icons you have here. Makes it more interesting to bother to look up policy, etc. Anyway, the point of this note is to ask for your assistance perhaps, or some suggestions for the discography on the Rory Gallagher article. I'm trying to rescue it from obscurity, as part of the article rescue team. Thanks!--Leahtwosaints (talk) 15:40, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Awards and nominations, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

redundant redirect (and misleading)

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Whiteguru (talk) 01:59, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

Please refrain from inserting position(s) for the Dutch Top-40 as you have repeatedly done in this and this edits. Be informed that all positions for the Netherlands listed for David Guetta's singles, are for Dutch Top 40, all of which are supported by this source. Orphaned non-free media (File:Bruno-Mars-Treasure.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Bruno-Mars-Treasure.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:BMSTINGGRAMMYS.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:BMSTINGGRAMMYS.jpg.

Thank you. Begoontalk 18:56, 26 October 2013 (UTC)

I noticed you removed the tag and altered the file description page.

Some comments:

  • You added a CC 3.0 tag. Only the copyright holder can release this image with that license - not you, or some guy on some website somewhere. The copyright holder would be the music video publisher/record label/TV company or the person who took the photograph if it isn't from a video. Where is the evidence that they have released it as CC 3.0? It's up to you to show that if you claim it.
  • The image is attributed to Kevork Djansezian / GETTY IMAGES at this page, and frankly I'd believe the Washington Post is far more likely to be correct in its attribution than your claim it was "licensed CC 3" with no evidence.
  • If you want to make a case that the image does not fail NFCC #8, for use as a non-free image, fine, you can try - but sticking a random unsupported free license tag on it does not help.

It's ok to not understand, and if you act honestly, people may even help you, but licensing is not a game where you plonk random tags on until one might "stick". Licensing is taken seriously here. Begoontalk 12:16, 27 October 2013 (UTC)

Hello Mario,

This message is to let you know that since Petergriffin9901 couldn't do the review for your GA nomination, I took over and reviewed the article here. Sorry to say that it failed this time. After you've spent some time addressing the prose/reference points I brought up, give this some time to settle so it's stable before renominating. An unstable article is an automatic fail for GAN. I'd spend at minimum a week or two working on this article before renominating for GA. Better luck next time.

Bruno Mars

I have noticed you have reverted my edits on Bruno Mars. It is clear that you are not vandalizing the page, but they are becoming disruptive. The instrument section is meant to show the musicians primary instruments, not every instrument they have ever played. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Infobox_musical_artist. Many multi-instrumentalists, like John Paul Jones, Brian Jones, Prince, Sting, and Paul McCartney have their primary instruments included. Before I revert your edits, I would like to know why you think the exhaustive list of instruments should be included. Thank you very much for your time. Dobbyelf62 (talk) 21:43, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

Treasure

Hi! Why did you undo my edit on "Treasure"? The song reached number 22 in Italy during the week 29 of 2013, and I provided the official website of FIMI as a source. Unluckily it is not possible to include a direct link to the chart, because the link would be http://fimi.it/classifiche#{"id":1614,"s":"3"}, but since it contains quote, it would break the page (and encoding it with %22 doesn't work, as I explained here). Still, this is an official source, and I don't understand why it should be removed. --Stee888 (talk) 20:53, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

The URL I provided pointed to the "Charts" section, which, as you said in your comment, does not support the chart position for the song, but the reference also includes a note explaining how to reach the correct chart, which supports the chart peak Stee888 (talk) 22:29, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
I'm sorry, I didn't noticed the note, please add it again I will check it. Thank You MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 11:16, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
Thank you, I made the change again. The note is automatically generated from the template. Hope we find a way to use the direct link, to avoid this kind of problems, but I still don't know if it's possible to solve the technical problem. --Stee888 (talk) 17:47, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
Very unlikely, since the automatic link redirects to "charts" and they only take into consideration the top 20 in Italy. Keep up the good edits. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 18:38, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

The Good Article Barnstar
For your contributions to bring "Grenade" to Good Article status.  — Calvin999 18:09, 9 August 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for your work on this list. Looks like you are converting the list into a table much like the featured lists for songs recorded by some other artists, which is great! I hope you are able to expand the list. Do you intend to promote it to featured list status? Keep up the great work! ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:24, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

For now I only intend to complete the list, but yeah on the long term, still much work to do. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 10:11, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
Gotcha. Well, it is coming along nicely! ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:23, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
Thank you. By the way, Mars has recorded songs in which he has not taken credit (unknown reasons, before he was famous) such as: "Her World Goes On" by Justin Michael & Kemal. Should I list those as well? MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 14:20, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
Great question. I don't know anything about this, but it might be worth adding a section beneath the table discussing uncredited recordings and possibly a list of those songs as well. This way the information is included but separate from his table of credited songs. The list looks really great -- I hope you will nominate it for Featured List status when you feel it is complete. Going through the nomination process will also result in some feedback regarding his uncredited songs. ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:37, 25 September 2015 (UTC)

100 million is the combination of singles and albums in total

To MarioSoulTruthFan, please look and read the source carefully (http://www.eugeneweekly.com/20140807/music/mission-mars)/Eugene Weekly

Not only has he released two chart-topping albums — 2010’s Doo-Wops & Hooligans and 2012’s Unorthodox Jukebox — sold over 100 million copies of his singles and albums.

And please look at his certification sales in the List of best-selling music artists, it has been reach 76.8 million and the 100m-claim is more reliable than 108 million

I put that source to encourage another reliable media to follow.. Please undo again, I need your consideration. Thanks Politsi (talk) 15:44, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

Ok, I will undo the edit. But further down on the "Legacy" section it has 68 million singles and 12 million albums. Should we leave at that? MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 15:47, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

We should change that also, actually Mars will be put on the 100m-list at the List of best-selling music artists when Mars's certification reach 78 million but we need a source from a broadsheet daily newspaper which is more reliable but it doesn't mean Eugene Weekly is not reliable, it is still reliable but we have to encourage another source to count the same (100m-sales) calculation of Mars's claim sales. Politsi (talk) 16:35, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

I believe I have understood that. However, those sales of 78 million based on certifications are only for his singles or also for those where he features? MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 16:46, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

All of his features and all of combination from singles, albums, video, digital download of Mars. an Expert editor / Harout72 handle on update calculation. Politsi (talk) 17:25, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

That's great. What if I told you that I found two sources one claims 100 million sales as singles, the other claims 12 million as albums. They are very reliable, hard to find more reliable sources (Guardian and the San Diego union tribune). If we put them together they make up for sales over 120 million and we have the Eugene one as back up, can we do that? MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 17:29, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

No... Please don't do that, we must avoid inflated sales figure for Mars. The source from Eugene Weekly is quite enough at this moment and don't add any 80 million claim source again because it is no longer reliable. 100m-records is the best calculation of Mars's claim sales. Politsi (talk) 12:42, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

Ok, maybe before the next album we get a report of the current figures of albums and singles or everything (himself, and other songs he has written and produced) at once. I won't add that source again, it's fine. So if it's no longer reliable that means you will change it on List of best-selling music artists? Thank You MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 12:50, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

In the List of best-selling music artists Mars still placed on the 80 million claim figure since we have to wait for another more reliable source better than Eugene Weekly, please look at the talk discussion between me and Harout72, when Mars certification pass the 80 million mark and still no other reliable source, we will put him at the 100m-list with source from Eugene. Let's wait and don't change Mars's 100m-claim in his Bio. Politsi (talk) 13:03, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

I have seen the discussion. It will change to 100 million if the sales mark reaches 80 million on the "Total available certified units". Did Harout72 that handle on update calculation considered Uptown Funk? Because if he didn't, the certified units are going to "rocket"? MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 13:24, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

Talking to the Moon (song)

Hello MarioSoulTruthFan: The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Talking to the Moon (song) has been completed. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

You will notice that I archived one of the article’s citations (#1). I suggest that you archive the rest of the URLs as time allows. This ensures that the article's references are available "forever" and that it doesn’t develop “dead links” over time. The site I use is https://archive.org/web/. Simply copy the URL in the citation and paste it in the box on the archive.org site and click save. This creates a copy of the original page and provides you with a new URL to add to the original citation. If you look at the URL I've archived you'll see the syntax. You add the new URL to the end of the original citation like this: |archiveurl= http etc|archivedate=13 February 2015}}. Not all websites allow archiving - CBS TV news and the NY Times are two I've come across, so there's not much you can do about that unless there is an alternate citation you could use.

Kind regards, Twofingered Typist (talk) 22:00, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

Thank you, I was aware of that cite. I will do such. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 22:01, 24 April 2016 (UTC)

I Will Possess Your Heart GAN

I don't think your quick fail of I Will Possess Your Heart was appropriate. Most of the issues you mentioned are easily fixable textual issues, and a handful are MOS issues that are explicitly not part of the GA criteria. I'm willing to improve the article according to your guidance. You haven't brought up any issues that can't be fixed in an hour or two; in this situation you should await revision rather than quick-failing the article. Antony–22 (talkcontribs) 11:31, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

@Antony-22: The article you nominated needs expansion. That isn't something you can do within an hour or two, it can take days/months. You need to re-write a bunch of stuff and create new sections with more information. A sample of a song would be great along with chords of the song, vocal range, tempo...you may find it in musicnotes.com and so on. Sure, improve what I said and I can't stress this enough but take a look at other GA and FA articles, they have nice structures that you can use. Furthermore some parts of the article are unreferenced, I believe I raise that issue and that qualifies for a quick-fail. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 11:41, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
(edit conflict) I don't agree. The GA criteria explicitly do not cover MOS issues except the five listed in criterion 1b, none of which require certain sections to exist. Also, the footnote to 3a explicitly states that GA articles do not have to cover every major fact or detail. I believe the article does currently cover the main aspects of the topic. It certainly does not cover every aspect, but that not required by the GA criteria.
Furthermore, quick fail is intended "solely to deal with the occasional frivolous nomination.... Unless the reviewer is dealing with a "drive-by" nomination at which the nominator does not intend to respond to the review, quick fail should normally not be used." This article does not fall under that situation.
This is not an FA review. GA reviews have limitations to their scope. Beyond this, I see no comments in your review that can't be fixed quickly. Antony–22 (talkcontribs) 11:57, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
All the prose is referenced. The required references for the track listings and charts can be found rather quickly. Do you intend me to fix these issues and renominate the article this evening? Antony–22 (talkcontribs) 11:58, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
Why are we even discussing this? First of all it was not a quick fail, a quick fail I would't even review your article in the first place. I REVIEWED every single section of it. I said the structure of "FA", not he material in there. On a side note, I should/could give you time to fix (waiting), but I'm not obligate to it if I don't think it could meet the criteria. Also no reference on the genre of the song, which should be included in the main article. If you know you need all of that why didn't you include it in the first place? I don't believe you can expand the article in one day, but me my guest I'll more than willing to review it again. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 12:11, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
Yes, it was an immediate fail, even if you provided a review. If you believe that entire new sections should be written, should should either specify them or point me to the non-MOS page that lists them, and justify that they are in fact required by the GA criteria. Antony–22 (talkcontribs) 12:20, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
Even Wikipedia:WikiProject Songs#Article content doesn't require all the things you're asking of me. Where are you getting all this from? Antony–22 (talkcontribs) 12:26, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
"An article can, but by no means must, be failed without further review (known as quick failing)". Therefore it wasn't a quick fail. "In all other cases, the nominator deserves a full review against the six criteria..." → I'm not obligated to give you time once again. I just think it had too many mistakes at that point, I'm sorry. I specify them, in each section you had. I asked you a "Chart performance and charts". There you have it, in the wikipage you provided with criteria. One that is not there is "Background", for instance you have information of a section suitable for that topic, instead of "Composition" topic. Address all the issues I raised and re-nominate the article. Happy to provide you anther review. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 12:36, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
You omitted "...and is given a chance to address any issues raised by the reviewer before the article is failed." Anyway, I don't wish to belabor this. I'll improve the article and renominate at a later time. Antony–22 (talkcontribs) 12:43, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

I know, hence why the "...". One more time, not mandatory. Of course, "ping" me by then I will provide you another review. Good luck. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 12:46, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

Bedtime Story

Just wanted to say that yes, i was really disappointed in your failing the article, and yes I was pissed, but there's no bad blood between us. Since you said in the GAN page that you understood that the failure was wrong. I do hope to work in the future with you (maybe on some Bruno Mars article), just not on Bedtime Story anymore. Thank you and hope you understand. I have seen your work and its really really good. —IB [ Poke ] 09:44, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

@IndianBio: Well, there are also other Madonna articles and I had already reviewed "Joan of Arc" so very likely to be working again in some articles you may nominate. That's a "no" article, I guess (Lol). Sure, I would be glad to have some help every now and then. Thanks, you are not beyond me, if I may be honest you work is even better than mine. Your Opinion is More Important than You Think Barnstar
Thanks for your second opinion on Talk:Fall Out Boy/GA2. Getting second opinions on GA reviews is notoriously difficult, and I was amazed with how quickly you responded to my request. Not only were you incredibly helpful in giving advice on satisfying the NFCC, but you also helped reduce the file quality so it would satisfy the criteria. Anyway, here's a barnstar so you know just how important you were to the GA process and the article's promotion. Wugapodes [thɔk] [kantʃɻɪbz] 14:09, 16 June 2016 (UTC)

Bruno Mars images

Hi MarioSoulTruthFan. I have recently removed three images used in the music video section of the Unorthodox Jukebox first three singles. All of them fail WP:NFCC#8 as in they can be easily replaced by free images from commons and removal is not detrimental to reader's understanding of the article. We are not supposed to add non-free images for decorative purposes. —IB [ Poke ] 11:24, 21 July 2016 (UTC)

@IndianBio: you are right. Thanks for noticing the issue and addressing it.

Why?

Why did you remove all the publishers from 24K Magic? Is there reasoning behind it, because it isn't making sense. livelikemusic talk! 15:23, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

There is no need for publishers in the articles nowadays, even if you try to upgrade the article to other status. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 15:24, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

Where does it say they are not needed "nowadays"? I have never seen that discussed or mentioned, in any article I have seen. livelikemusic talk! 15:24, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
I have, just can't remember the article. It was a review of a GA article, but we don't need them and some were incorrect. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 15:31, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
I have seen plenty of GA articles that continue to include "publisher" parameters, and nothing is ever said about their inclusion. livelikemusic talk! 15:34, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
Neither about their exclusion it's just easier to format the references without the publishers parameter. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 15:35, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
I would disagree with them, especially if you're using the automatic "cite" editor, but it's whatever. livelikemusic talk! 15:37, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

Too fast closure?

Your closure was too fast for an article that doesn't have any glaring issue with it. I wouldve definitely addressed your issues if given the 7 days. I hope that you would reconsider your decision and reopen the GA nom. I guarantee you it'll be fixed easily. That is of course your decision, but I pray.--MaranoFan (talk) 16:48, 13 October 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by MaranoBoy (talkcontribs)

Seven days would not give you enough time to expand the article. There is no critical reception section as the whole article is filled with some serious issues. I gave you a full review I could have easily failed the article without even reading it, under the "It is a long way from meeting any one of the six good article criteria", more specifically "Broad in its coverage". I was nice enough to review it and fail it afterwards. At least now you know what you have to do in order to improve it. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 17:02, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

So how is it called "announced to be the second single" ? He has already announced that he will release another song that's included in his pre-release album 3-4 days ago through the social platform and released the audio of the song this Friday. If it isn't called "the second single", what should it be called? Promotional single ?lysvincent (Sthg wrong with my edit?Tell me!) 13:14, 5 November 2016 (UTC)

Yes, that is it. It was not announced as the official second single. No radio adds, no video, nothing is just a promotional single. Most artists do it. It may become the second single sometime in the future, but its just too soon to tell. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 14:03, 5 November 2016 (UTC)

OK, you are so brilliant, so tell me, what's the difference between promotional single and a single, and how is it called a promotional single?lysvincent (Sthg wrong with my edit?Tell me!) 13:23, 18 November 2016 (UTC)

Why the sarcasm? Be polite and I tell you. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 13:27, 18 November 2016 (UTC)

No, I didn't. Believe it or not.lysvincent (Sthg wrong with my edit?Tell me!) 15:24, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

@Lysvincent: I find it hard to believe. An official single is one that has radio dates, promo, released on digital retailers everything. Promotional single is something that is used only to release before the album to bring pre-order of the album up (usually) and give a taste of what else is in the album such as "Versace on The Floor", that will not prevent it from becoming a single further down the road of course. You should not forget that can have a video as well. Nevertheless, a promo single never has official radio dates or a statement released by the label saying its a single. Some radios may give it some airplay time but won't be much and some publications won't even bother to cover it. Am I making myself clear? MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 15:44, 19 November 2016 (UTC)

Yes of course :) Thanks a lot.lysvincent (Sthg wrong with my edit?Tell me!) 11:48, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

So there's no guideline for it or is it elsewhere? --Jennica / talk 01:04, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

Right. "There is no standard format for how these different types of groupings should be arranged". Nevertheless, I'would rather present it this way, since all personnel that recorded the song is one place. See S&M, which is an FA and presents wiki's best work. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 01:11, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

Okay, I was just getting clarification. I was not trying to start something, for the record :) --Jennica / talk 01:16, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
I got it, but next time please ask me or see other FA's articles, they are a good source for clarification and give out nice tips to follow. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 01:20, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

David Bowie GA songs

Oops! You're right I totally got them all wrong. My apologies! I'm not sure the right way to fix it (since there's a bot involved, and all). If there's something I can do please let me know! 87Fan (talk) 22:53, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

@87Fan: I already did it for you, its ok, no stress but next time please get them right. It may take some time to be placed under the right spot. By the way GA nomination always on the top of the page, doesn't matter what on the top of page, GA always first ;). MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 23:04, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

Ceritification capitalization

Hi. I was trying to find documentation on this but I truly believe it should be capitalized. It was discussed on the MOSALBUM talk page a long time ago. It is capitalized and trademarked on the RIAA website. --Jennica / talk 20:48, 15 January 2017 (UTC)

@Jennica: "if you want to say "They received an RIAA Gold plaque" then fine, but normally lower case would be fine, as they are awarded in many countries by many bodies (and historically in the U.S. by record companies themselves)." This is not his discography page, in his discography page they all have been capitalized. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 21:42, 15 January 2017 (UTC)

GANs

I would just like to note that I will be inactive from Wikipedia for about the next three days, so I still do have intention of fixing them but I will not have computer access then. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 10:39, 26 January 2017 (UTC)

You honestly think that's better?

I liked the look of the way it was. Are there Wikipedia mandates for it? If so I'll do it but I'd prefer not to if I don't have to. It makes it much more complicated to work with without any really excellent reason. dannymusiceditor Speak up! 15:27, 31 January 2017 (UTC)

@DannyMusicEditor: Every single article uses that, from GA's to FA's. That's the standard, simple. Difficult to work, why? Its much simpler and easier with the type of certification table. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 20:29, 31 January 2017 (UTC)
