Hi Marisa!

To begin, a Boston cream doughnut is one of my all time favorite treats, so I was really looking forward to peer- reviewing your work!

To begin, I really enjoyed the history that you included about the doughnut! I had no idea when it was created. I did not know that states could have their own designated dessert, which I found to be very interesting fact! Also, it seems like there are some really great sources you have acquired!

When looking at including images to my own article, I realized how difficult that can be, so I was happy that there were pictures along with your article to help me crave the doughnut more.

One suggestion I might have for you would be to include a little bit more about the status of the doughnut in places other than Massachusetts. For example, are they made outside of the United States? Are they as popular in other states? Are they a staple at places like Dunkin Doughnuts or other places that are specifically known for their doughnuts? Peer Review[edit]

Hey Marisa! Awesome article! You did a great job adding in more information pertaining to the history of the donut and digging deep into its relationship with Massachusetts. I had no idea it was the state's designated donut- great fun fact! I completed the wiki template (link: User:Marisajones/Boston cream doughnut/Tmaraki Peer Review ) for you to take a look at. The main thing I would edit next is creating sections to organize the content you found. You have a substantial amount of info on the history of the donut that it could definitely have its own section. I also thought it would be fun to have a section about how the donuts are made and maybe include nutritional value, or like Cgooby mentioned above, how loved are the donuts outside the states. But, with the organization you'll have a solid article. Awesome job! [[User:Toshie Araki |Tmaraki]] (talk) 06:29, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Marisa,

What a unique subject to pick! To be completely honest, I have never had a Boston cream donut nor a slice of Boston cream pie. Therefore, I had no idea what the ingredients were or if they had any cultural significance. The article did a great job at laying out the basics first, like what it is made of, how it is prepared, and how it relates to Boston cream pie. I think you have a strong lead but I think you could make the first three paragraphs flow together a bit better. I like that you added a section about the controversies associated with the donut because I think that is something not a lot of people know, and it takes the article to another level. You have a lot of good references, just make sure to add titles to them eventually! I think you did a great job remaining neutral throughout the article, but making sure to include the viewpoints of others in a non-biased way. There are a few places where you need commas and other punctuation but all totally fixable. GREAT JOB!
