Hello Mdann52

I want to ask you why my page is not placed at the backlog drive?--Pratyya (Hello!) 03:32, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

You have to manually add it to the list - sorry if the instructions didn't state that. Mdann52 (talk) 07:38, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
By the way What is the AFCBuddy? I've added my name to it's participants. But nothings happening.--Pratyya (Hello!) 09:09, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
It's basically a programme that counts the number of reviews made with WP:AFCH. It only runs occasionally, due to it being manual. I have no access to it at present, as it isn't being run by me. Mdann52 (talk) 11:05, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi. You tagged this article with {{db-person}} about ten minutes after creation, and the creator has asserted that the Bulgarian book source cited establishes notability. I don't suppose I could persuade you to downgrade this to an AfD as I think it's at least worth a redirect to Jagdgeschwader 5? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:35, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Can you please count my reviews? Due some problems that time I made many mistakes. So I've got many fail. For this reason I can't count my review. See my page -- Pratyya Ghosh.--Pratyya (Hello!) 04:22, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

What's the problem with that AFCbuddy or Excirial? Why every updating time he/she removes my name from the backlog list? Please watch this. You are the co-ordinator. Please watch the history.--Pratyya (Hello!) 09:14, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

Please speak to User:Excirial about any enquiries about the tool. I have no control or access to it, therefore am unable to comment on any bugs with it. The bus has already been reported as well. Mdann52 (talk) 11:06, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Ram Prakash Gehlote

Hello Mdann52. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Ram Prakash Gehlote, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: the Padma Shri award is enough to pass A7. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 14:08, 30 January 2013 (UTC)

I don't know whether the Padma Shri alone is enough for notability by way of WP:ANYBIO; the question is asked, but not answered, at Wikipedia talk:Notability (people)/Archive 2011#WP:ANYBIO being satisfied by Padma Shri?. A quick search verifies the award but doesn't turn up any more detail. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 14:21, 30 January 2013 (UTC)

AFC backlog drive - Duration

Hiyas there MDann52,

A quick and quite trivial regarding the AFC project's January backlog drive: The How to Help section states that it runs between "00:00 (UTC) on January 1, 2013 and before 23:59 (UTC) on Febuary 1st, 2013." which would seem to suggest it runs until February 1 23:59 (1 minute before February 2) (though I presume that it intends to run till January 31, 23:59). Just wondering which of these assumptions is correct so that we won't have any confusion over the total's AFCBuddy will generate as a final. Thanks in advance! Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 21:38, 30 January 2013 (UTC)

Take it as it is - It may cause inconvenience to 'someone' if it is changed. A few extra reviews won't be a bad thing. Mdann52 (talk) 13:26, 31 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi. I contested your proposed deletion of this article, for reasons explained in the edit summary: (i) though brief, I think it's a legitimate topic, as much as Prayers at United States presidential inaugurations is (which it was based on), and (ii) it was created as a result of consensus at CFD to delete the category 'American Inaugural poets' and turn it into an article instead. If you want to take it to AFD, go ahead, but I think all the participants in that CFD discussion should be notified. Robofish (talk) 13:36, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

Ok - I was unaware of the accociated article or the CFD discussion - if it was due to that, I have no problem with it. Mdann52 (talk) 13:38, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

re Allstar page

Hi Mdann52

I was wondering if you could advise, the Allstar page is being hijacked by a competitor (UK Fuels) promoting its own site rather than the official Allstar site and adding conjecture into the text - the negative articles have appeared on the competitor's site. We're more than happy to include criticism of the product where accurate, however there hasn't been widespread outrage, rather a customer issue has been exaggerated by said competitor. I've been reverting the copy back to the facts and linking to the official statement, is there anyway I can stop this competitor using the product page to promote itself?

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by CamSuze1 (talkcontribs) 13:59, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi there. I have removed one of the links after analysing it, but the other one (the UK fuel card) one looks ok to me. I don't understand your claims of the page being hijacked - if you want to stop the IP editing the page, you should ask for it to be protected at WP:RFPP

Thanks Mdann52. Happy with the IP editing the page, no problem about varied opinion. However the story 'The introduction of such a fee was met with widespread outrage...' has only been reported by UK Fuels (http://www.ukfuelcards.co.uk/news/allstar-fuel-cards-price-hike-hits-customers-2996) - if you Google, it doesn't appear anywhere else, conjecture by a competitor. Customers have been communicated with via http://www.allstarcard.co.uk/statement Also, the link to http://www.ukfuelcards.org.uk/companies/arval-fuel-card.php is incorrect as the 'Arval' card does not exist any more. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CamSuze1 (talkcontribs) 14:34, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

History of Vojvodina

Why you deleted my comment from that talk page? I am not sock of Oldhouse2012. I am one of IP users, this is not forbidden, to edit as IP and then to register account. Can you tell me why you reverted my edits and deleted my comment. Please explain. Baća bez gaća (talk) 13:31, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

Peacemaker67 also deleted my comment from talk page: [1]. I think that this is not allowed. Baća bez gaća (talk) 13:33, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Why are you edit-warring to put these Wikiproject banners on, when it is clear that most other people are clearly against it? I feel that your editing behaviour also fits my interpritation of Oldhouse2012, but I will leave it to other users to discide if any action is taken. Mdann52 (talk) 13:36, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
I explained my edits in my comment that was deleted from talk page. I have only goal to make that page NPOV and to improve Wikipedia. Look, man, please try to read my comment and to make conclusions by yourself. Can you tell me why Wiki projects that I added are not appropriate and why WP Hungary that I deleted is appropriate? Can we discuss this with arguments and not with accusations for socking, ducking or what ever? And what other people? I see there only Peacemaker67 who is well known for his POV pushing in Serbia-related pages and for personal attacks against people who do not agree with him. Baća bez gaća (talk) 13:45, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Look, the page has been semi-protected, and I have applied for full protection. They are only banners - Most readers Don't even look at them. It just isn't worth edit-warring over. Just stop before you end up ap WP:ANI or WP:AN3RR. Just what is your reason for your changes anyway - I can't find any rational anywhere. Mdann52 (talk) 13:51, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
What is my reason to want NPOV page? Tell me, why page should be POV? Do you want to say that tag of other country added to Serbia-related article is not POV? If yo try to include article about Germany into category "Sweden" (for example), you should not be surprised that people want to remove wrong tag. What is a point of this? Can you tell me? Baća bez gaća (talk) 13:55, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Finally, do you think that full protection of page is a good solution? I am not vandal, but only good faith user who wants to make page NPOV. This is content dispute, so can we solve this in some normal way, with discussion and compromise? Baća bez gaća (talk) 13:59, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

I do feel that full protection is the best idea, as it stops the content dispute. Can you please discuss a solution with the other user involved, as I don't like getting drawn too far into other's content disputes. I have seen you reverted my revert on the page as well, but I was just about to do so... . If you need any help inding a solution to this dispute, feel free to come back and ask me. Mdann52 (talk) 14:03, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

Listen, this is the problem. The "other user involved" is a problematic figure well known for POV anti-Serb agenda and aggressive approach in support of that agenda. He will support any POV against Serbs and Serbia. Just see how he diminish number of Serb victims in Jasenovac and accuse opponent for vandalism: [2]. I doubt that I can discuss anything with him and if I convince him not to delete my comments from talk page I would think that I was successful. Can you mediate in this dispute or something like that? Baća bez gaća (talk) 14:14, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
@Baća bez gaća. I can't be any clearer. Either stop it or be reported. Any one of the editors previously involved in this same issue with Oldhouse2012 will almost certainly back me up here, and I doubt you will get any sympathy at ANI or ARBMAC. You are now ramping this up by making unfounded accusations about me being anti-Serbian (my track record of even-handedness and sticking to reliable sources is clear for all to see) and you are also showing signs that you are discussing and coordinating your edits off-wiki with like-minded editors. Hungary ruled parts of Vojvodina for centuries, clearly they have a role in this article. It is you that are trying to make this POV by removing Hungary, and then trying to muddy the waters by adding every Wikiproject that could ever have any interest in this article. You have added Wikiprojects that have clearly stated they are not interested in this article. It cannot be any clearer that you are a disruptive WP:SPA. If you want to edit WP, please be constructive and collegiate. Peacemaker67 (send... over) 23:06, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

your comment about my redirect request

Hi, at Wikipedia:Articles_for_creation/Redirects#Redirect_request:_Roots_and_Offshoots.2C_Afreaka.21_and_Afreaka you wrote

"This is a matter for the AFD, not for a redirect to be made."

I don't understand what you're trying to tell me. Are you saying there should never be these redirects, that I should ask for them in the AfD forum, that I should wait for AfD to finish before asking for them, or something else?

I think the article about the band is likely to survive the AfD process. My request to have the misspelled article about the album deleted was declined,

There's no way duplication should result in deletion here. If the consensus is to keep the content in the parent article, this should be a redirect. Or, the content might be moved from the parent article to here. EIther way. But deletion? No

(emphasis added)

I meant more that we should wait for the AFD to conclude before adding any redirects - if it is deleted, it is just more work for a deleting admin to do. Mdann52 (talk) 11:01, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

Ruzzle

Please take a look again at the article. I think you misunderstood my intention. The game is already so popular that it seemed strange to me that wikipedia hasn't an article describing it. Now i think is NPOV and for sure not promotional. --Paul Gascoigne (talk) 14:17, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

re Slactivism

Greetings. I am Anders Colding-Jørgensen and I have edited the text of the Slactivism article, to reflect that the experiment I did in 2009, and which Morozov refers to, is more often called the "Stork Fountain Experiment", than det Colding Jorgensen experiment. And I think I added my first name also. I think that's quite constructive. It's not really that important to me - but I'd rather see it changed back.

PS Thanks for maintaining Wikipedia for all of us

Hi. Regarding this edit, "start" (all lowercase) is fine. The bot checks the page every five minutes, on the fives. You edited the /Status page at :33, so the bot wouldn't check the page again and notice a change until :35. You edited the page a second time at :34 (to change "start" to "Start"), but the bot would've run with either. (Internally, the bot actually converts the status text to all lowercase as a first step.) Hope that helps. --MZMcBride (talk) 15:44, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

Coke Studio (Pakistan) and its seasons

Per my comments at AIV, I deleted 4 out of the 5 season articles attempted by User:Saba Hameed. The fifth was started in May and, though incomplete, wasn't a duplicate of the main article. I've also told Saba Hameed to discuss their attempt to Fork the seasons at this article's talk page. I think this may be a new user who does not know what's what 'round here, and could use a bit of guidance. Of course, I also protected the deleted articles, just in case. Page: Hamid Senni

Hello, I have just created the page "Hamid Senni", but got a message explaining that it will be deleted. As it is the VERY First page I have ever created on Wikipedia, what is the information I need to remove so the page becomes OK. My initial understanding was that as long as there are references, all should be okay. Would very much appreciate your help and advise on this one. Many thanks Best Hamid (as VisionEnabler) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.210.36.176 (talk) 12:36, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

Edit War

Hi Mdann52- I just received a message from you regarding the edit war currently going on between me and (assumedly) people affiliated with Julie Menin over edits made to her page. I have been trying to update some of the information on her page, all of which is factual (supported by sources that I have formatted according to the guidelines and included in the page) and appropriate for the consistency of the webpage. It is apparent that the people deleting the information want to keep Julie Menin's page as positive as possible -- she is currently running a campaign for Manhattan Borough President -- which would seemingly defeat objectivity that Wikipedia strives to preserve. I obviously don't want to be blocked from editing, but I also feel as if the information is being subjectively deleted and I don't think that's right. Let me know if you have any advice/tips. Thanks! Maxx Attaxx (talk) 22:15, 6 March 2013 (UTC)

The only reason I warned you was because you were the only one to get close to 4 reverts. I would advise you to discuss on the talk page, and if that fails, seek Dispute resolution. I have reviewed the edits, and restored your version for the time being. Mdann52 (talk) 11:01, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

Monster plot summary

Hi, Mdann52. Regarding your recent revert of good faith edits to Monster: I understand the WP:ALLPLOT policy, but the Monster page is not all plot. In fact, all it was really missing was a synopsis. Marcussilas5 is a student in my class (though you wouldn't know because he failed to tag the Talk page with the Educational Assignment tag, so I will now) who is working on trimming down the plot summary to a reasonable length. Can we let the long plot summary stand for now? It seems like being bold to have some plot summary and have it be too long than to have none whatsoever. Thanks. --Roseclearfield (talk) 20:22, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

Just as a follow-up, I couldn't help myself and trimmed down the synopsis. What do you think? --Roseclearfield (talk) 20:33, 7 March 2013 (UTC)
That's fine. I wasn't aware that they were part, otherwise I would of let it be - my WP:AGF skills have been getting a bit thin recently... Mdann52 (talk) 11:02, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

Jessica Lappin

Hi Mdann52,

I was on the Julie Menin wikipage, and believe you made a mistake. This page is constantly being vandalized by user Maxx Attaxx, who has written favorable remarks on the wiki page of Jessica Lappin, and disparaging remarks on Julie Menin's page. Lappin and Menin are both running for Manhattan, and I think that all the stuff Maxx Attaxx has been posting is politically motivated.

Best, Sportsman9830 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sportsman9830 (talkcontribs) 13:50, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

The best avenue to get help with this would be at WP:DRN. I restored their version as it was reliably sourced. Please note that we also assume good faith, so calling their actions Politically motivated isn't really helpful. Mdann52 (talk) 13:53, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

I think the good faith assumption goes out the window when you see that Maxx Attaxx has been posting on the pages of both political candidates for the same office. It may have had a "source," albeit those sources did not cite sources, but there are plenty of similarly disparaging things written about Lappin. In order to prevent wikipedia wars, administrators such as yourself need to step in. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sportsman9830 (talkcontribs) 14:06, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

Last time I checked, I am not an Admin :/. As I said, the edit looks ok - feel free to go to WP:DRN; They are the experts in resolving such disputed. Mdann52 (talk) 08:46, 10 March 2013 (UTC)

John Carteret Pilkington

Isn't Wikipedia meant to be collaborative, with entries decided democratically? When it is full of ill-written articles about total nonentities, it seems odd to reject someone who has the following entry in the current Oxford Dictionary of National Biography:

“Better known as Jack, Mrs Pilkington's younger surviving son, John Carteret Pilkington (1730–1763), tried to follow in his mother's footsteps with his own boyhood memoirs—a less skilful, less high-spirited, and factually less reliable work, originally advertised as ‘The Adventures of Jack Luckless’ (printed proposals, 1758). Padded out with his mother's correspondence with Lord Kingsborough, her last patron in Dublin, this appeared two years later in London as The Real Story of John Carteret Pilkington, complete with an impressive list of subscribers and dedication to a daughter of Jack's namesake John Carteret, Earl Granville, who had been lord lieutenant in Dublin in the year of his birth.

Escaping from his father's custody about 1741 Jack had found refuge with his mother's uncle in Cork, but then turned to the stage as a boy soprano and struck out again on his own. At various times he attached himself to the eccentric Richard Poekrich, inventor of the musical glasses; to the composer Thomas Arne, in whose troupe he sang and acted in Dublin during 1743; and to a travelling nobleman, Charles O'Neill of Shane's Castle (senior representative of the Clanaboy O'Neills), who allegedly professed his devotion to the boy, offered him a lifetime annuity, but finally dropped him when his voice began to break into a ‘hoarse disagreeable tenor’ (J. C. Pilkington, Real Story, 149). The Real Story ends in 1744, when Jack left Ireland for Scotland.

By 1746, after brief stints as a naval volunteer, Jack had fetched up in London with his mother, whom he accompanied back to Dublin in 1747. By the 1750s, now married, he was back in London writing miscellaneous verse for magazines, following his late mother in and out of the Marshalsea prison (not once but three times), and picking quarrels with Foote and the theatre manager David Garrick. Please tell me...

what can I do about this AfC submitter's sandbox...

which redirects to

and they have tried to submit new content at their sandbox but there's a redirect there instead (and, yes, yes, I think the new content will still be Declined) but I need some help on what to do about the redirect. I did tell KateRivera and her IP that they should edit the standing AfC on the subject, but they really need to be able to access their sandbox and I just need someone to tell me what I am supposed to do so I can fix this. Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 16:43, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

Nvrmind, I went ahead and deleted the left-behind redirect and left notes at the IP's & the named account's talk pages. Shearonink (talk) 00:32, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
And I also have a question about the Drive Awards. Would it be possible for the 175 Articles for Creation Barnstar to be animated like the 125 Tireless Contributor Barnstar? I know I have no chance of catching any of the top three participants but I really like the fact that my present star rotates... Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 00:36, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
It's something that is out of my technical capabilities - the AFC barnstar is a image, while the Tireless Contributor one is actually an amination file. I will see what I can get done though. Mdann52 (talk) 11:01, 22 March 2013 (UTC)

I think I put the wrong page for submission

Hi, I tried making the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Donor_Committee_for_Enterprise_Development_(2) which you turned down as looking like an advert. In fact I had been quite stupid. I had meant to submit this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Donor_Committee_for_Enterprise_Development. I made this in early Feb, then as no one had reviewed it, I thought I had not put it for submission, so tried to put it for submission, and then must have put for submission an old attempt at the page I had made, which you rightly say isnt great. Could you look at the one I meant to send? I spent a lot of time and think it should be fine, but of course more than happy to edit with any comments. Thanks again :-) Ashleyaak (talk) 18:16, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

ADGB Trade School

Hey,

I'm new to Wikipedia and still figuring out how to edit properly, so please forgive me if I don't do something correctly.

I've been looking at the Allgemeiner Deutscher Gewerkschaftbund article and I believe it needs a section added about the architecture of the trade school. Currently there is a heading for 'ADGB school after the war', the school itself however was designed and completed before the Nazi's seized control. The building is one of the most significant examples of Bauhaus architecture and the design reiterated the Union's ideologies, to improve the quality of the article, there should be a section explaining the architecture. At the moment I don't think the article makes sense, as it talks about the school after the war but there is no introduction to the school beforehand, so is therefore not chronological.

Backlog drive

Dear Mdann52: I started reviewing at the Afc a few days ago, and Nimuaq suggested that I join the backlog drive, even though it was almost over. I tried to follow the directions, but as far as I can see my reviews are not being counted. I tried leaving a message on the backlog drive page but there was no response. Am I just being too impatient? I reviewed over articles with the script, plus at least ten manual declines of sandboxes. —Anne Delong (talk) 12:22, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

As you do not seem to have replied to this message, can I take it that you have no comment? If so, you are presumably happy about the notability of this subject? In which case, I will shortly put the article up.

Family of Secrets

Hi. Thanks for the helpful review of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Family_of_Secrets. You say "We generally don't allow YouTube or Amazon reviews as reliable sources."

I've removed the link to the youtube collection of interviews. I assume the PBS/WGBH, Ron Reagan, and C-SPAN links in the Media section are OK.

Re Amazon: Mindful of that word "generally", and given the stature and relevance of Mr. Graboske as chief archivist of the Nixon presidential material, mightn't we consider this an appropriate exception to the general rule? The publisher put the quotation on the cover of the paperback edition. Though WP:RS doesn't mention cover blurbs, I felt uncomfortable citing that as the RS; but this does provide the publisher's affirmation of the reliability of their source -- Graboske's two Amazon reviews.
Bn (talk) 19:40, 14 April 2013 (UTC)

To be honest, Wikipedia only allows professional reviews to be used as references. I am aware of several users who have been recently blocked for inserting non-professional reviews into articles, therefore am unlikely to budge on this. If you can find any professional reviews, they will be infinately better than the Amazon ones. The rest of the links look ok. Mdann52 (talk) 12:51, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
"Professional" is a bit confusing, as clearly the criteria do not require that reviewing be the writer's profession; that would preclude virtually all scholarly reviews. Some of the criteria for RS fall away or are of diminished importance when we consider reviews as RS. For example, I don't think that even scholarly reviews are ever peer reviewed--mine in the field of linguistics never have been. Nor is editorial oversight very strong, depending on the expertise and reputation of the reviewer. The strength of this particular pair of reviews is in Mr. Graboske's credentials for expertise in some of the central matter of the book.
So the issue is where the reviews are published. If a review by Graboske were published e.g. on George Mason University's History News Network <http://hnn.us/roundup/36.html> would that suffice?

That's very creative the way you made the subject line for the invisible barnstar for AFC: "An Barnstar for You!" (link)

You mean it wasn't on purpose? Actually, I was disappointed to not see it titled An <--!Invisible -->Barnstar or better yet some font that would display as pale grey or white. On the other hand, too much formatting in a section-break might break the wiki, since section breaks are expected to be part of anchor ("#") URLs. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 14:27, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi,

I have created a page about a theatre and film producer which has been declined as it is seen as self promotion. I am trying to work out how to get around this as I am writing about a film and theatre producer, I am not them.

I have added in links to press articles and interviews - I just wanted your help on getting the post live and to see if there is more I can do. The post is:

I was wondering if you can offer some advice on getting the page live. I have linked to international news outlets which quote her and reference her, just wondering if there is more I can do with the article.

Look forward to hearing from you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Connalgadaffi (talkcontribs) 13:59, 28 April 2013 (UTC)

An article you approved at AfC

The article Talk:St. Dominic Catholic Church (Miami, FL) was nowhere near ready for mainspace when you approved it. I had just moved it from the writer's sandbox to AfC. I was still busy cleaning it up after that move when you approved it. Since your approval of the article I have: 1 - Corrected the incorrect L3 section headings to L2; 2 - Removed a number of completely unacceptable "references" in the form of personal interviews and other communications. Please take note of the guidelines for reviewers and do not approve drafts that are so obviously not ready for mainspace. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 18:42, 30 April 2013 (UTC)

Western & Southern

Western_&_Southern_Financial_Group As you can tell from my contributions, I am trying to avoid libelous and uncited opinion filtering into this article. There are a variety of claims that have no citation here, including the value of the Anna Louise Inn, it sold "reluctantly", etc. References to corporate greed and other potentially libelous opinions have no place no the corporate site. MicheleYD (talk) 12:53, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

The information you are removing is sourced. I am yet to finish checking the sources, but whatever they say should stay. Also, I don't get what you mean by the "Corporate Site" - no-one Owns Wikipedia pages. Mdann52 (talk) 12:56, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
MicheleYD is continuing to edit that page and remove information that has been sourced, despite your warnings. XtoTheFifthPower (talk) 16:39, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
Here is an example of editorial, not fact: "Further adding to CEO John Barrett's characterization as insensitive and greedy..." - that is editorializing. I wouldn't approve of someone adding "Further adding to CEO John Barrett's characterization as one of the most philanthropic individuals" to every positive part of the story either.MicheleYD (talk) 18:14, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
Here's another one "Auburn neighborhood - considered to be a shabbier part of the city" Shabbier? Says who?MicheleYD (talk) 18:14, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
Here's another one "often been critical of the Anna Louise Inn while inaccurately referring to its residents as recovering prostitutes and stating they just don't belong in the neighborhood" Really? Where are these quotes cited? I believe these are made up.MicheleYD (talk) 18:14, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
That quote can be found here[1] towards the end of the article. The reference must have gotten lost in the edit warring, I will put it back.XtoTheFifthPower (talk) 20:14, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
And the Anna Louise Inn site itself says that this deal is a win-win. Where is that statement?MicheleYD (talk) 18:14, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
I'm looking for some fairness and fact in this article rather than just editorial because someone has an agenda.MicheleYD (talk) 18:14, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

Ehhh, maybe filling this guy's talk page with a big argument isn't the best way to discuss this. I think we should take this to Talk:John F. Barrett and Talk:Western & Southern Financial Group I'll just say that saying John F. Barrett has been characterized as greedy in a sourced article isn't editorializing. If you'd discuss this on the Talk pages maybe we could hash this out in and find some neutral ground. Instead you continue to make edits that remove significant portions of sourced information (and have been warned for doing so), and react angrily when we revert it.

And to Mdann52: sorry this fight ended up on your talk page.XtoTheFifthPower (talk) 20:08, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

MicheleYD - just a word of advice. Please discuss the changes on the talk pages, otherwise you will get blocked for edit warring. No-one wants this to happen, but it is there as a last resort if this issue can't be resolved in a civilized way. Mdann52 (talk) 10:00, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
Mdann52: hey could you do me a favor and weigh in on the latest episode of this? as multiple parties requested (and we discussed on the talk pages), i created a complete separate page for a controversial topic to discuss both sides of the anna louise inn controversy. one user User:Dkaplan73 continues to undo those changes so he can post the anna louise inn article on the western page and the ceo's page. i do not believe that's appropriate under these circumstances. thanks MicheleYD (talk) 19:43, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

Nadal

Mdann, thank you so much for making my requested changes at Rafael Nadal. That was very nice of you. While you were apprarently making those edits, I revised the wording a bit on one of the sentences, for accuracy. So can you please change the last part of the sentence that says "and has prompted many tennis experts to regard him as the greatest clay court player in history." to "and has led many sports journalists and commentators, and former and current players, to regard him as the greatest clay court player in history." (This is in line with the good wording used as Roger Federer. I explained this on the talk page, that "tennis experts" is vague, subjective (what exactly qualifies as an "expert"?), and too limited. Thanks again. --76.189.109.155 (talk) 15:39, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Btw, I removed my edit requests from the talk page before any replies to them. You've already handled it and I didn't want to unnecessarily clog up the talk page. But if you think they should be returned, that's fine, but they would need to be closed. Thanks. --76.189.109.155 (talk) 15:49, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Thanks (again), I see you made the updates! I wanted to get your opinion on two things. (1) Do you think the first paragraph of the lead is too long? I'm thinking it would make sense to split that paragraph after "greatest clay court player in history.[18][19][20][21][22]", so that the sentence starting with "Nadal has won twelve Grand Slam singles titles" begins the second paragraph. (2) Also, I noticed in the first paragraph of the lead at Roger Federer, that instead of listing the many cites after the last sentence (about his being the greatest player of all time), they instead do an "[a]" note so that the many links don't take up all that space. So do you think the sources for the two sentences you edited in the Nadal article, which contain three sets of many cites (a total of 19!), should be turned into notes [a], [b], and [c]? I appreciate all your help on this. --76.189.109.155 (talk) 18:16, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
I'm not sure if you talk on here because you haven't said anything, but I see you attempted to make notes to replace the long list of cites. But now it's messed up. It says, "He has been called one of the greatest players of all time.[12]" instead of "[a]" and having a "Notes" section below. The Federer article shows {{#tag:ref|See at the beginning of the set of cites in the first paragraph, and |group=lower-alpha}} at the end, which produced the "[a]" note. Then they put a == Notes == header above the "References" header and put {{reflist|group=lower-alpha}} right below the Notes header. --76.189.109.155 (talk) 19:48, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
It also has "His success on clay has earned him the nickname the "King of Clay"[19]". Instead of the [19], it should be [b] and appear in the Notes section below. --76.189.109.155 (talk) 19:50, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
I see what the problem is. Those two sets of cites are opened properly, but they are not closed properly at the end of each set. --76.189.109.155 (talk) 19:54, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
The Notes section already exists near the bottom of the article because there were already other notes in the article. So the coding just needs to be corrected at the beginning and end of each of those 3 sets of sources. --76.189.109.155 (talk) 19:58, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
It's been sorted while I was offline. Sorry I didn't talk on here; I was on mobile, and you can't edit User talk pages on mobile :/ Mdann52 (talk) 10:04, 13 June 2013 (UTC)

Hi, in the last AfC newsletter you sent out, you didn't close the <small> tag, breaking a ton of pages. Please try and be more careful in the future. Legoktm (talk) 20:47, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Fixing now, thanks for the note. Mdann52 (talk) 21:01, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

AFC backlog drives

Greetings, Mdann52. Since the next AFC backlog drive is due to start in little more than a week, I figured I should bring this up beforehand. When the March backlog drive concluded I remember inquiring a couple of times about the distribution of awards to the participants. I was told that you'd given them out a couple of weeks into April, but I never received mine. I completed 17 reviews, and the minimum required to receive an award is supposed to be 15. Was there something wrong with my entries? Trout me, and then just trout me, till I can get my troutifaction! (talk) 13:04, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

@Wilhelmina Will: No idea why I missed you; I'll sort it out now :D Mdann52 (talk) 13:05, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
