IPv6 adoption

I removed some material from the lede of the IPv6 adoption article, and you promptly reverted me for "unexplained removal of content". I explained the rationale for the removal in the comments; some of this material dates back to 2016, and the IPv6 world has changed beyond recognition since then. Speedy deletion declined: Draft:Chanhassen Dinner Theatres

Hello Nagol0929. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Draft:Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article needs to have been created after the user was blocked to be eligible for G5. Thank you. SmartSE (talk) 12:53, 14 April 2023 (UTC)

You just declined the above draft. As registered users have access to tools IP editors don't, could you possibly check that draft for copyright violation and either mark it up as such or nominate it for speedy deletion as such. It's been my experience that repeated use of the royal "we" generally is a good indication of copy paste and if not it's an almost certain indication of COI editing. Table of Contents removal

Hello, you recently encountered an anonymous editor who removed the table of contents of a Wikipedia of a book you are interested in. For your information, before that, he did the same to another, General Relativity (book). Visit the talk page to see the on-going discussion. I am inclined to believe this counts as disruptive editing. Nerd271 (talk) 13:57, 26 April 2023 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted

Hi Nagol0929. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. signed, Rosguill talk 17:07, 23 May 2023 (UTC)

Confusion?

You reviewed my new page TÜRASAŞ a few minutes ago, i'm just confused on how it seemes like an advertisement? It's a goverment organization so how could i be advertising it? Thanks Eticangaaa (talk) 22:26, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

It just seemed advertising by the way you added the products. Nagol0929 (talk) 22:35, 30 May 2023 (UTC)
Though looking at how it is a government entity then you can remove the tag. Nagol0929 (talk) 22:36, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

Please slow down

Please take your time when reviewing articles; I've noticed that you're often reviewing multiple articles per minute. For example, you reviewed Hukam Ali (an article with no reliable sources whatsoever!) less than a minute after D.League. It often takes me 5+ minutes to review a single article, since I'll often need to tag, review the sources, search for additional sources, etc. If you're ever in doubt about an article's notability, you can always leave it for someone else, instead of marking it was reviewed. Thanks. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 22:41, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

Sorry about that. I’ll be sure to slow down. Nagol0929 (talk) 13:16, 2 June 2023 (UTC)

New Pages Patrol newsletter June 2023

Hello Nagol0929,

New Page Review queue April to June 2023

Backlog

Redirect drive: In response to an unusually high redirect backlog, we held a redirect backlog drive in May. The drive completed with 23851 reviews done in total, bringing the redirect backlog to 0 (momentarily). Congratulations to Hey man im josh who led with a staggering 4316 points, followed by Meena and Greyzxq with 2868 and 2546 points respectively. See this page for more details. The redirect queue is steadily rising again and is steadily approaching 4,000. Please continue to help out, even if it's only for a few or even one review a day.

Redirect autopatrol: All administrators without autopatrol have now been added to the redirect autopatrol list. If you see any users who consistently create significant amounts of good quality redirects, consider requesting redirect autopatrol for them here.

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team, consisting of Sam, Jason and Susana, and also some patches from Jon, has been hard at work updating PageTriage. They are focusing their efforts on modernising the extension's code rather than on bug fixes or new features, though some user-facing work will be prioritised. This will help make sure that this extension is not deprecated, and is easier to work on in the future. In the next month or so, we will have an opt-in beta test where new page patrollers can help test the rewrite of Special:NewPagesFeed, to help find bugs. We will post more details at WT:NPPR when we are ready for beta testers.

Articles for Creation (AFC): All new page reviewers are now automatically approved for Articles for Creation draft reviewing (you do not need to apply at WT:AFCP like was required previously). To install the AFC helper script, visit Special:Preferences, visit the Gadgets tab, tick "Yet Another AFC Helper Script", then click "Save". To find drafts to review, visit Special:NewPagesFeed, and at the top left, tick "Articles for Creation". To review a draft, visit a submitted draft, click on the "More" menu, then click "Review (AFCH)". You can also comment on and submit drafts that are unsubmitted using the script.

You can review the AFC workflow at WP:AFCR. It is up to you if you also want to mark your AFC accepts as NPP reviewed (this is allowed but optional, depends if you would like a second set of eyes on your accept). Don't forget that draftspace is optional, so moves of drafts to mainspace (even if they are not ready) should not be reverted, except possibly if there is conflict of interest.

Pro tip: Did you know that visual artists such as painters have their own SNG? The most common part of this "creative professionals" criteria that applies to artists is WP:ARTIST 4b (solo exhibition, not group exhibition, at a major museum) or 4d (being represented within the permanent collections of two museums).

Hello Nagol0929,

The New Page Patrol team is sending you this impromptu message to inform you of a steeply rising backlog of articles needing review. Rollback granted

Hi Nagol0929. After reviewing your request, I have temporarily enabled rollback on your account until 2023-10-18. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
  • Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Anarchyte (talk) 13:52, 18 September 2023 (UTC)

Amrit Kaur

Dear User:Nagol0929, thank you for reverting the blanking of referenced information at the article about Amrit Kaur. Request on 17:19:13, 20 September 2023 for assistance on AfC submission by Therealdocmartin

Hi there thanks for reviewing my article. I would still like to develp it further and think it is of great historical interest. The almanacs have been cited multiple times in historical research and are a valuable resource for historians and genealogists. I would like to add cover art and more info on the almanacs. Only one of the almanacs is available in full text online (I added this under external links) while the rest appear as listed in state and university library collections or in sale lists of antiquarian book sellers. I would be grateful for any further advice on how to ensure the article meets wikipedias guidelines.

Therealdocmartin (talk) 17:19, 20 September 2023 (UTC)

@Therealdocmartin, I need more independent and reliable sources. Nagol0929 (talk) 11:31, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
Thanks. I have now added references to 2 high quality sources and resubmitted. The references are dissertations published by the university of stellenbosch (full text available online) which both discuss the importance of the almanacs. The first dissertation is in German language:
Hellberg. (1954). Die deutschen Siedlungen in Suedafrika seit der Mitte des neunzehnten Jahrhunderts (Translation: The German settlements in South Africa since the middle of the nineteenth century). Stellenbosch : Stellenbosch University. P254 (Doctoral Dissertation) Available at https://scholar.sun.ac.za/items/9397e683-f4ed-4f92-9713-08f69f6c26b0
The relevant text (translated into English by google translate with minor corrections by myself is below)
"In addition to these magazines, there are also the South African annuals called “kalenders”. The first of these annual Volkskalenders, published by Pastor G.W.Wagener for the year 1890 has already been reported.
The second annual calendar published in South Africa was the "Sud Afrikanische Volkskalender”. This was published twice by the German book publisher Hermann Michaelis, based in Johannesburg (formerly in Cape Town)for the first time for the year 1912, and then again for the year 1913. The The first Volkskalender was a book of almost 400 pages.
The edition for the following year was enlarged by almost a hundred pages. In the preface to the Volkskalender for the year 1913, the editor states that he was so encouraged by the uptake of the Vo1kskalender in 1912 that he decided to expand it to a book, which all German households would welcome every year. Apparently, however, the publishing cost of the second edition of the Volkskalendar was not so cheap, as an edition for the year 1914 cannot be detected."
I can provide further extracts and translations to the other section I referenced if necessary. Therealdocmartin (talk) 12:04, 22 September 2023 (UTC)

Improve the page "List of Jewish international organization leaders"

How do you think I can improve the page so it gets accepted as a new article? Baruch Benedictus Spinoza (talk) 06:31, 21 September 2023 (UTC)

@Baruch Benedictus Spinoza I don’t know if the list itself shows notability. Look at WP:LISTN. Nagol0929 (talk) 11:31, 21 September 2023 (UTC)

New pages patrol newsletter

Hello Nagol0929,

New Page Review article queue, March to September 2023

Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews!

October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here.

PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.

Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.

Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge.

In 2017, sponsored Sergey Danielyan's project "Dreamers" to music by the French band Daft Punk. Three young choreographers were engaged to work on the production: Maxim Petrov, Vladimir Varnava and Ilya Zhivoy. The production had its world premiere on 4 April 2017 as part of the Mariinsky International Ballet Festival at the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg, and went on to be performed at the Segester Center for the Arts, USA, and the K.S. Stanislavsky and V.I. Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Musical Theatre. In 2021, sponsored the staging by world-renowned Canadian director Robert Lepage of “The Master and Margarita”, based on Mikhail Bulgakov's novel of the same name. It is a work of grandiose technical design with many visual special effects and the most complex costumes. The technique of illusionism was used, allowing objects to appear and disappear, become transparent and transform from one into another. The duration of the performance was 5 hours. For the performance more than 100 sets of transformer costumes were created for the characters, whose roles are performed on stage by only 13 actors. The premiere took place on 09 December 2021. Also in 2021, Mr Khachaturyants sponsored a new contemporary dance production of “Carmen”, featuring the Royal London Ballet's prima ballerina, Natalia Osipova. The production was choreographed and directed by the charismatic Dili Veldman. In addition to Natalia Osipova, ballet dancers Jason Kittelberg and Isaac Hernandez were involved in the production. Dave Price worked on the musical component, taking fragments of Bizet's original score as a basis, he managed to create a very unusual score, which is a fascinating combination of the past and the present.

“Carmen” premiered in Edinburgh in December 2021, the ballet was then performed in London and received the highest praise of all British critics - a case unprecedented in the history of dance theatre. @CN Digital Work: Regarding the Philanthropy section, you have again cited numerous sources that do no mention Khachaturyants at all. They verify that the artistic works exist, but not that Khachaturyants had anything to do with them. At best, I was able to find one source that noted: Генеральный партнер спектакля: Ашот Хачатурянц [General partner of the performance: Ashot Khachaturyants]. This is not sufficient sourcing to make such elaborate claims of his philanthropic activity. Also, since we now know your motiviation (About my motivation: I work for the ALTHAFEN Foundation (www.althafen-foundation.com) gGmbH, which knows Mr. Ashot Khachaturyants from the charity sector and would like to win him as a donor. Finally, since this is a dicussion about a particular article, it would best be held on that article's talk page. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:36, 5 October 2023 (UTC)

Gibby TV Show

I saw that the Gibby TV show was leaked on YouTube. Is YouTube as a source acceptable? [2] I'm probably doing the wrong thing. I'm sorry of I am. This is for editing the article for the original iCarly series. Cwater1 (talk) 14:39, 6 October 2023 (UTC)

@Cwater1 Yes in some circumstances youtube is an acceptable the only reason I didn’t accept the pending revision is because you did not cite any source. However I would gain consensus on the article talk page to figure out whether this would be notable to add. Nagol0929 (talk) 14:48, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
That wasn't me that added it originally. I was looking through my watchlist and saw iCarly and then checked revision history and difference. Cwater1 (talk) 15:16, 6 October 2023 (UTC)

Ohev Sholom Congregation

Hello, I am the Executive Director of Ohev Sholom Congregation. We were formally know as "Ohev Sholom - The National Synagogue". I am trying to adjust the Wikipedia listing to remove the references to "The National Synagogue", but you reverted the information back. What do I need to do to help us clear up the Wikipedia listing? This change was done for security purposes, especially in light of the current world turmoil.

Additionally, as of July 2023 we have a new rabbi, Rabbi David Wolkenfeld. We would like to add him under the listing and limit some of the information about our past rabbi, Rabbi Shmuel Herzfeld. The poor IP editor went to ANI, seemingly because they just didn't understand how to use article talk pages. —andrybak (talk) 20:40, 16 October 2023 (UTC)

You are referring to a blog by sanjeev singh just to target a particular community which is wrong. On the other end you are counting brahmins and tyagis as one just to make them 17 % which is wrong, they both are not same. There are many articles which mention jat population to be 17%, counter to which you have just one blog by sanjeev singh to spread your false narrative. Review of Draft:Steam_Dredge_Groper

Hello Nagol0929, I wish to improve the draft article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Steam_Dredge_Groper so it may be accepted, but I am unsure how to proceed. The sources are all reliable secondary sources and the information is not opinion, it accurately reflects the newspaper reporting as cited. The public interest in this ship is that it created a crisis in confidence between the Queensland Government and the Scottish ship-building industry which, arguably, catalysed the growth of ship-building in Australia. This latter is widely shared opinion and thus not in the article, but the elements I have included are factual. It would help me to understand specifically what would need to change. Thanks! Pbd2001 (talk) 07:20, 7 November 2023 (UTC)

Hello @Pbd2001, Right now it’s formatted and read like an essay. I would make it more encyclopedic by looking at other articles and reading how they’re wrote. Additionally I would add sections as it would break up the essay. Finally I would make the subject of the article more clear because how it is right now it was hard for me to identify the subject of the article. Nagol0929 (talk) 12:41, 8 November 2023 (UTC)
