Violation of 3RR[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Independence Day: Resurgence shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
All that said, I really do 'not' want to report you for three reverts in 24 hours, but you've got to learn to compromise. I notified you on the talk page prior to your third revert, and I've been more than fair and patient with you. I'm not sure why you haven't properly discussed the issue yet. That is what the talk is for. The most you will say in your summaries is that I'm being verbose. Really? I even did a word count to give you the benefit of the doubt and it turns out my edit is not only tighter than yours but it is less wordy than yours! After a cooling off period I will resume editing. Do it again, you will be reported. I'm assuming good faith, but enough is enough!174.29.191.40 (talk) 06:21, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Spider-Man (Miles Morales)[edit]

Hi. Thanks for all the work you've done on the Spider-Man (Miles Morales) article. However, please do not add material to articles without citing a source, as you did with this edit. I've worked very hard over the years to maintain the information in the article so that all of it is properly supported by citations. I've removed the info, but if you have a proper source you can cite for it, feel free to restore it with that cite. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 02:14, 7 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Massive, recurring edits to articles[edit]

Just thought I'd drop you a friendly line that while your improvements to various film articles are greatly appreciated, please take the time to check recent edits to an article before making your own. The reason is that on occasion, unhelpful edits such as vandalism have gone unnoticed, because you have swept in behind the unhelpful edits with edits of your own. In my watchlist, I see that the film was last edited by you, but unless I comb through the history of the article, I may not discover earlier unhelpful edits until long after they've occurred. Here is an example. Two edits here were unexplained removals of sourced content and should have been reverted. This would have been picked up by another editor, but less than 3 hours later, you came in behind those edits and made these changes which hid the previous edits from watchlists.

Please help protect the articles from blatant violations while you are in the process of improving them. Thank you. --GoneIn60 (talk) 09:30, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Misuse of categories[edit]

I think you misunderstand the proper use of categories in Wikipedia. They are for defining characteristics of the subject, not just something they happened to do in a storyline. If someone is talking about Jason Todd or Norman Osborn, they don't describe him as a "stalker" as one of the first (or even the first ten) things they say about him. Categories like that are intended for characters for whom their stalking is one of the first things people say about them. Just because you see a bunch of OCD crap cluttering up the categories section on some articles doesn't mean it's a good example to follow. Please cut it out, especially when people challenge the cruft you're adding. -Jason A. Quest (talk) 23:45, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wes Craven's New Nifghtmare[edit]

Hello: The copy edit that you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Wes Craven's New Nightmare has been completed. I made numerous edits to the Plot section, but did them all in one edit, for the most part so they are easy to check. I have not seen this movie, so you'll want to make sure the changes I made are acceptable. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Regarding this, I reverted you per WP:BLPCAT, and per this and this past discussion about putting Amber Heard in the bisexual category. As that latter discussion shows, the matter was taken to the WP:BLP noticeboard and consensus was for keeping Heard out of the lesbian or bisexual categories. There is also a WP:Hidden note in the External links section about this, which you likely saw; it states, "Per WP:BLPCAT, Heard is not to be added to the lesbian or bisexual category until she publicly identifies as either lesbian or bisexual. She has publicly identified as being a part of the LGBT community. While sources have identified her as lesbian or bisexual, she has yet to publicly specify her sexual orientation. See past talk page discussions about this." Similarly, per WP:BLPCAT, we don't put Jodie Foster in the lesbian category, but we have put her in the LGBT categories. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ultimate Marvel, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David Finch (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.) RE: Edits to the article Equilibrium (film)[edit]

Hello. I have just reverted an edit made by you on the article Equilibrium (film). You added the article to the category "films about assassination" but from the plot summary it appears that assassination is an element of the plot, not the main theme. We can discuss this if you feel my revert was in error. Thank you. DesertPipeline (talk) 00:48, 26 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I found suspected serious copyright violations at the article; it's not your fault-it was added by an IP editor in 2015. I've largely rewritten the text, removed a lot of waffle, and reported the issues to an admin here. Feel free to review my work but please don't restore any of the suspect text unless or until the copvio is refuted. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 05:05, 3 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Jumanji (logo).png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Jumanji (logo).png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Can you help me out on improving this file page? Not that I have a problem with the image so far. I just don't know what issue it came from. Jhenderson 777 16:11, 31 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The current image you uploaded of Wells is actually that of Thawne having stolen his appearance. Wouldn't it be better if we used a picture of an actual Wells, like Harry? I was confused over which one to use, hence I resorted to using the collage, even though it doesn't show all Wellses. --Kailash29792 (talk) 06:08, 1 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Charlie's Angels (franchise).png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Charlie's Angels (franchise).png.

Thank you. ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. A tag has been placed on File:Starfire (Koriand'r).png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F10 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file that is not an image, sound file or video clip (e.g. a Word document or PDF file) that has no encyclopedic use. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ديفيد عادل وهبة خليل 2 (talk) 11:46, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Image without license[edit]

Unspecified source/license for File:Red Oil Wontons (红油抄手).jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Red Oil Wontons (红油抄手).jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:15, 18 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Behavior that's becoming disruptive[edit]

NeoBatfreak, I know you put a lot of time and effort into Wikipedia, but in some areas, you're going a bit overboard. At Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom for example, there is a thorough discussion on the talk page. If you have something to add about changes that are needed to the plot, please do so there. Edits like this one and this one are so minuscule in nature that I have to wonder why are you bothering to make those changes? Why is it that every few weeks, you'll come back to make more of them? Can you take one good look now, get everything off your chest in a discusssion, and move on for good from that section? Is it possible for you to move on? Please pay attention to the talk page and edit history; I strongly advise that you don't ignore them. --GoneIn60 (talk) 17:00, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Power Rangers Unite.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Power Rangers Unite.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Notice

The file File:Arachnophobia (soundtrack).jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Arachnophobia (film)#Merchandising. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons. You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page. Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:52, 21 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE.

-- Marchjuly (talk) 04:47, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Editing infobox teleivision[edit]

Recently there have been at least two occasions where you have added an image to the infobox of television articles where spurious code was added that both stopped the image from displaying and placed the article into an error category.[2][3] I've fixed both but can you please check your edits to make sure this doesn't happen again? The most obvious indicator is that the image you just added isn't displaying, which is a clear sign that something went wrong and that something needs to be fixed. --AussieLegend () 08:52, 20 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

RonBot (talk) 17:10, 20 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Boy Meets World (Season 7) cast members.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it. Michael[edit]

Where did you get that image of Michael Myers. You listed as Nick Castle from 1978, but that looks like a drawing/painting, not an actual still from the movie. The image itself didn't have a source connected to it.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 18:55, 25 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm fairly certain that's not an actual photo of Nick Castle, but a drawing/painting. It looks like it was taken from this photo, which is no where near as clean as that one you uploaded. Even the largest version isn't that clean.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 14:24, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
To be clear, if you want to propose a new infobox image (we don't need multiple images of him on the page), then put some suggestions in the article talk page and everyone can look them over and decide which they think is best.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 14:25, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Home Alone 3 -Music from the Motion Picture.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Home Alone 3#Soundtrack. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE.

-- Marchjuly (talk) 13:40, 25 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. A tag has been placed on File:Stephen King's THE SHINING (mini-series intertitle).jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated. ‑‑V.S.(C)(T) 04:09, 31 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge[edit]

Hello: The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge has been completed. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Regards, Twofingered Typist (talk) 16:14, 1 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note that I think the article needs to be expanded. Some of the discussion (which probably needs to be taken out) of the original script suggests that the script was rewritten but none of that information is in the production section. Good luck!

The file File:Justice League New Frontier (soundtrack).jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Justice League: New Frontier#Music. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE.

-- Marchjuly (talk) 05:29, 10 January 2019 (UTC): The above also applies to File:Justice League Crisis on Two Earths (soundtrack).jpg. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:32, 10 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
