Rollback[edit]

As an experienced editor, you can be trusted to use rollback in a safe and productive manner. You may want to read this page for more information pertaining to rollback. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback can only be used to revert vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback may be removed at any time.

If you do not want rollback, then contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some information on how to use rollback, you can view this page. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, just leave me a message on my talk page. Happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 00:25, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! Malinaccier (talk) 00:54, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Npnunda, for reverting the edits of the "anonymous" IP 71.157.172.78 on the Book of Concord article. This is the permanently banned editor Ptmccain[1], who has some way of changing his IP address periodically in order to continue to edit on Wikipedia. JPGordon had temporarily locked the article in order to prevent him from editing it. That lock had expired, and he thought that if Ptmccain stayed away, he would allow the article to remain unlocked. Evidently I will have to request that the article be locked again. However your care and watchfulness has thwarted this banned editor and his attempt to change this article. This article is his sole interest at the present time.--Drboisclair (talk) 05:09, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Consider a request made, and accepted. Semi-protected for 1 month. Pastordavid (talk) 01:40, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, just happened to be online, and trust Drboisclair's judgement on this one. (btw, it helps to put new comments at the bottom of talk pages). Drop me a line if you need anything else. Pastordavid (talk) 01:44, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Dumbbot removed the semiprotection that I was able to revert; however, I am not an administrator, so the Dumbbot might take it off again. I have been able to do some tracing of McCain's IP addresses using free websites on the internet, and the IP addresses all come out to St. Louis, Missouri, which is where McCain lives and works. I have commented on the page that you invited me to comment on. Thank you for your kindness!--Drboisclair (talk) 15:44, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Politicians in ID category[edit]

Politicans should not be placed in ID cateogry, especially since none of them are sourced as ID advocates. If they took a political stance on the issue one way or the other, it is irrelevant to their notability. To place any politician that has expressed some support or voted in favor of intelligent design in the advocate category would mean you'd have to place those that voted against it or expressed opposition to it in an intelligent design opponents category. I am trying to clean the category of these very dubious inclusions. If you did this for every issue, you'd have to put every Congressman that votes pro-life into the pro-life activist category and every congressman that votes pro-choice into the pro-choice activist category. These people that I am removing deal with many issues and the issue of ID is one which none of them are notable for. 99.150.113.218 (talk) 22:46, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My question on cites[edit]

I created my first article Jesse McGuire. Why, when I add the citations, does the categories disapear? I'm trying to add www.jessemcguire.com as a citation and I'm having problems adding the cite also.

cat pic question[edit]

Hi Npnunda. To add the image to your userpage, enter this: [[Image:GEDC0002.JPG|thumb|An optional caption.]]
The "thumb" parameter makes the image a thumbnail. To align it in a direction, replace it with "right", "left", "top" or "bottom". Also, you can adjust how large your image displays by pixels. For instance, you could replace "thumb" with "175px", "300px", or any other number. That adjusts the display size. --JamieS93 18:03, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List of living supercentenarians vandal[edit]

I agree with your assessment - I think it's a vandalism only IP. Unfortunately, I can't really block indefinitely, since we're really not supposed to do that (reasonably so, as IP owners tend to change). But if there's more vandalism, my next block will be for at least a month, so we can take a breather from reverting that junk. If it continues after that, maybe 3 months or a year. Cheers, CP 05:17, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AFD question[edit]

I nominated 2 articles for deletion. Someone removed the template. I readded it because it had not been discussed yet. Do I need to let somebody know that I nominated them? The articles I nominated are: ATEX directive and Equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres

When a WP:PROD is contested, it should be WP:AFD'd. ffm 23:56, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well I am an admin , but I don't always know what's going on! ;> If prods are contested and you don't feel up to taking it to AFD, then yea, just leave it be. I had a similar situation back in 2006. The article is still here today. Should it be? I don't know. =) Anyhow, if there's anything else you need, let me know. xenocidic (talk) 00:08, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sometimes the AFD process can lead to an article being greatly improved. While it's ideal not to have to do it this way, sometimes it's the only thing that will spur the work. happy editing, xenocidic (talk) 00:39, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict)Hi, just some advice, you should not remove the afd tag on the page unless you close the actual afd also. This is not a speedy keep since there are one delete !votes, so only way to close it is by WP:IAR which would be correct but, I will not do it. I will revert the removal of the afd tag from the main page. --Stefan talk 01:57, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The AFD tag should be at the article as long as the discussion is open at AFD, if you remove it you are making it hard for people that watched the article to see the AFD discussion so it is considered very bad style to remove it (people normally does this to try to stop the process), in this case since you consider the AFD closed as keep it is no bad intent, but the process is still not closed and can change so the tag should stay.
Someone can close the discussion and take the tag away, BUT instruction states that you should never close a discussion that you have been part of so really neither you or me should close. Speedy keep instruction also states that no one can close as speedy keep if there is outstanding delete !vote (which there unfortunately is). So the only way to close is to use WP:IAR, which since this is for the better of the encyclopedia would work, but I do not want to so it is better to leave it for normal close. Also as a side note, remember in the future that a badly written article is never a reason to delete, only a bad topic. --Stefan talk 02:42, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback[edit]

Your mass reversion of Buzz Lightyear was inappropriate. My edits were not vandalism--Aujourd'hui, maman est morte (talk) 01:45, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your idea of a personal attack needs to be reworked. I suggest you read Wikipedia:Personal attacks before you go around accusing me of attacking you. If I personally attacked you, it would have been quite obvious but that is not something I engage in around here. If you continue to label my edits as vandalism and accuse me of personal attacks I will approach WP:ANI about your disruption. The category could have easily been removed by removing the template in the action figure section. Do not label all other edits as vandalism because you are unsure of how to fix something, it's kinda rude. --Aujourd'hui, maman est morte (talk) 01:56, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Look we got off on the wrong foot, we are both just trying to help. If you construed my edit summaries (which must be what happened cause I really can't figure out where you thought I attacked you ) as a personal attack, I am sorry. The article is fixed now, I think, take a look, let me know what you think. I just took it as an affront to be called a vandal. I have been working on some of what I think are very important articles intensly the last few days, just kinda hurt is all, sorry I was so reactionary. --Aujourd'hui, maman est morte (talk) 02:05, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh how nice, thank you. I really am sorry, I inserted that template, I guess it was an attempt at light-hearted humor since a Buzz Lightyear toy went up with STS-124, I probably should have known better. The more I thought about how I had gotten all miffed, the more I realised how truly stupid it was. --Aujourd'hui, maman est morte (talk) 02:22, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

help request[edit]

{{help}} I am investigating some rather disturbing vandalism by a user. I found that Nigger Fucker redirects to David Allan Coe. I do not know how to undo this vandalism. Can sombody do this and report it? Thanks!! --Npnunda (talk) 18:57, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

:I have nominated the redirect for speedy deletion, hopefully an admin will take care of it shortly. Stardust8212 19:11, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually apparently that is a song by that singer so it wasn't an attack page as I previously thought and the page was merged and redirected due to an AFD discussion see: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nigger Fucker. I don't think there's actually any vandalism to be reverted. Stardust8212 19:16, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ATEX[edit]

If you have consensus on the talkpage, just go ahead and convert the merge page into a redirect. I don't think you need anybody to do that for you. Tim Vickers (talk) 04:31, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{help}}[edit]

how to people like User: Canadian Paul put links to there good articles or other things on the top of their user pages? --Npnunda (talk) 04:56, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You can see how he does it at User:Canadian Paul/Promotion, but be sure to update the "thefting" notice if you borrow it =). –xenocidic (talk) 14:30, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
