Changes

ARG, AussieLegend is making me mad. I like your suggestions? Can I make a few changes though? I just want to add a little description to the top, so people can still go back to the original page and stuff. Aussie said that mine was just a copy, but mine didn't have any extra info (which is what people want to see though an episode name & date. I feel it's too plain though. I have this new idea on how we can keep it simple. Can I make a page in my Profile and show you? it will make it look simple, and we can still have different season pages also. What do you think about Aussie's updates, she doesn't even get other people's opinions, and she does it herself with out other people's opinions.... - Alec2011 (talk) 02:09, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

I suggest working with AussieLegend on getting to something that is acceptable to both of you. I don't have strong opinions either way. Keep the discussion in the article discussion page so others can contribute. I would prefer that the article List of Hannah Montana episodes remain as just soft redirects and all further edits be either on the season page or the Hannah Montana#Episodes section though. Basically that article is there only for the edit history as required by the wiki GFDL license and could otherwise be deleted. I personally don't like duplication of the same information, though, as a general principle - it makes it extremely difficult to keep stuff consistent. --NrDg 03:01, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
I changed the Hannah Montana#Episodes back to the way it was before. There was alreday a link to each seasons page if you clicked on the season (that way the table stays nice and organized).
The changes i have in mind are simple changes with minimul duplication. I've seen other TV shows (with like 7 or 8 seasons) and I'm going to use some of there ideas (basic info incldes: name, date, and prod. code). It will keep i organized and stuff. I hope you don't mind, the List of Episodes Pages just seems so plain. I'll work with her to see if we can come up with an aggreement. - Alec2011 (talk) 15:35, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Logo?

How can I upload the new HM logo without it getting deleted? - Alec2011 (talk) 02:16, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Take a look at the image file for the current logo File:Hannah Montana Logo.PNG and look at the Summary and Licensing sections. Upload, using WP:Upload the new logo file (make sure the name describes what you uploaded). Ensure the new logo file has the same information that the old logo files has in the Summary and Licensing sections. If any of that is missing the image file will likely be quickly deleted. Change the link in Hannah Montana to point to the new image file. --NrDg 02:35, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
I note that you uploaded File:Hannah Montana Logo 2.PNG on December 22, 2008. That file was deleted because the article it was used in deleted the reference to it. Copyrighted images used under fair-use must be used in an article. I assume you wish to upload that image again. Is may me easiest to just go to File:Hannah Montana Logo.PNG and click on the line at the bottom of the page that says "upload a new version of this file" and replace the existing image. --NrDg 03:11, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
OK I get it (I'm sure you can see the differece in Season 3's logo. I'm going to pick another file though it's more HQ but smaller (if you know what I mean). - Alec2011 (talk) 15:36, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Why you asked me a sockpuppeter ha? I didn't understand, what is a sockpuppeter? I waiting for your reply ok!!!! THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS!!!!!- Dico (talk) 4:57 PM, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

As I said on your talk page - take this discussion to WP:PUI. Don't argue the point with reverts of the speedy decline and discussion in the image edit history. --NrDg 17:10, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Youtube?

Youtube isn't counted as a reliable source right? - Alec2011 (talk) 20:01, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

In some cases it is a reliable source - it depends on who uploaded it.
Usually it is not a usable source as we can't trust where the video came from, whether or not the uploader modified it and most stuff we want to use is a copyright violation of the uploader which we can't link to.
If the source is trusted, like Disney uploading a trailer for a future movie, TV episode or music video on their YouTube channel then YouTube is a valid external link and trusted reliable source reference.
In the case of a grab of a future episode promo from a TV series not posted by the network we can't use it as an external link as we would be linking to a copyright violation. We can use the information contained there though but should reference the source of the video, not use the YouTube video. I would probably replace the youtube link in a reference with a note saying that the info was from a promo and specify when and where the promo was broadcast. If the person adding that note is a trusted editor there should be no problems. --NrDg 20:22, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
I have uploaded the promo for an up-coming 2 part HM episode, it aired on Friday, June 12 @ 7:25/6:25c. Also remember how I have the Forum Schedule person (who still updates with the episodes on the forum). We both know it's a relable source. Anyway, the 2-part episode airing is called he Could Be The One. Is that what you mean? - Alec2011 (talk) 20:25, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
If you have seen the promo you can use the promo as a reference, best if it has been broadcast and you can specify an exact time and channel where you saw it. Give details between the ref tags. <ref>Promo for up-coming 2 part HM episode. Promo aired Friday, June 12, 2009 @ 7:25/6:25c on Disney Channel</ref> for example. Given that you are an established user with a good reputation most editors will trust you to be telling the truth so it is unlikely that that reference would be challenged. --NrDg 20:37, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Should I add the promo link too? Also, Disney only ordered 30 S33 HM episode, however on the schedule it said Prod. Code# 331. now on Showfax it shows there is a two-part episode called: Un-Jake My Heart Parts 1 & 2. I'm feeling that the Un-Jake episode is the episode the schedule meant to say, because if it was 331 then Disney would have to edit the episode in about one month (which isn't that likely). What do you think? - Alec2011 (talk) 20:42, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
We can't use a link to an upload of the promo as that is a link to a copyright violation. Use only ref to when promo shown unless you can link to an official Disney version of the promo. --NrDg 20:55, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Showfax only has planning info, not completion info so can't be trusted for episode titles or final ep content. Production codes are likely correct but they may not have assigned or shown 331/332. It only takes a week to do final edits on an episode if they want to. --NrDg 20:53, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
OK I added the info. i hope it doesn't get deleted. - Alec2011 (talk) 21:06, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
I noticed that you added the same ref 4 times. Use <ref name=promo>...</ref> for the first use then use only <ref name=promo /> for all other uses. That merges the refs into one line in the ref section. --NrDg 21:10, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
OK, I changed it. Can we both keep an eye out on it? Also, here's the promo I uploaded to my site's Youtube Channel: <Can't have links to copyvios even in talk pages> - Alec2011 (talk) 21:14, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
There are a lot of copies of this on youtube - I just couldn't find an official one. There is a poser going as DisneyEnterprises but that is not real. Would be really nice if we can find the original official Disney video on a Disney site.--NrDg 21:23, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I'll keep checking Disney Channel. Com to see if I can find it there. - Alec2011 (talk) 22:06, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Gerald Gonzalez, again...

This user, well, needs no explanation at all. Grammar and habit-wise. Block 'em while fresh, my dear. Blake Gripling (talk) 05:24, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

I've been watching. Probable but don't want to pull the trigger until I see more. --NrDg 05:26, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

thanks

Thanks for blocking the 231Yoko sock! Nice work. Tony (talk) 08:08, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

The Editor's Barnstar
Great job cleaning up the List of characters from iCarly article! The article looks much better now than it did two days ago! I would not have the patience to wade through that 65K article, so I appreciate your work. 青い(Aoi) (talk) 03:01, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the barnstar.
I was cleaning up after edits by some socks of a indef blocked user and this was the hardest hit. I didn't want to revert to before he started so kind of had to go through and clean up. Still more to do including a merge back of 4 characters that were split out without discussion and demonstrated notability. --NrDg 03:11, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

P&F List of Episodes Page

I find the List of Phineas & Ferb episodes page is very unorganized and needs to be improved and edited. So far, I've made a new Episodes Overview Chart listed at the top of this page:[[1]], you can see that i've added both Disney Channel (DC) and Disney XD (DXD)'s premieres for both. Since DXD is airing Season 2 before DC, I've made that change (the one on the P&F page is mixed with both DC and DXD premieres, so I edited it.

Also, you can see that I've also added a new column to the page too. Since there's two airings (and space) I added it to show when it aired on DXD and when it aired on DC. I also added new colors so you can see the difference in the different seasons. First though, I want your opinion, and then I'll start a Disscussion page. - Alec2011 (talk) 05:40, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Looks fine to me. Make sure you get other editors opinions on the discussion page before making any major changes. --NrDg 14:05, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
OK, I made a discussion on the List of Episodes Page. - Alec2011 (talk) 17:59, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Adding an external link to a music video

Hello, I need help to perform a task on the song article for "Let's Do This". I attempted quite a few times to add an external link to the music video for the song and once the page was saved nothing appeared on the music video section in the infobox. And I looked at other song articles which had an external link, but since they are from Youtube and this one is from Disney, the format is different. Here is the link: "Let's Do This" Music Video. Hopefully, you can help me. Thank you. Please respond on my talk mage. --Ipodnano05 (talk) 19:49, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

When you have an = sign in a parameter for a template you need to specify 1=whatever or parameter name=whatever at the beginning so that the template expansion works correctly. --NrDg 20:27, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for helping me with the problem, I had no idea. --Ipodnano05 (talk) 20:49, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
