We are working to create a new task force within the WikiProject to deal with topics related to the Pittsburgh Penguins. It hasn't been created yet; but it aims to expand articles based on former and current Pittsburgh Penguins players and articles. Good luck!

Featured Topic Drive

By Maxim

The original featured topic drive, initiated by Scorpion0422, has concluded succesfully. National Hockey League awards is now a featured topic, with 24 articles in total. Of them, 20 are featured lists, one is a featured article, and the other three are trophy articles that were too short to become featured lists. Eight users signed up to help out, shown here. The next Featured Topic hasn't been decided upon, and the ideas and organization for it fell apart. If you have any ideas, don't hesitate to share them at WT:HOCKEY.

Notes
  • More editors are needed to help out with the newsletter. The newsletter creator doesn't have an infinite nor perfect supply of ideas, and thus he might omit some interesting news.
  • Portal:Ice hockey is being considered for featured status.
  • Should Chris Pronger have been suspended for more than eight games for stomping on Ryan Kesler? Vote here!
  • Help Patrik Stefan -- one of the greatest NHL draft busts -- become a GA status article.

Vancouver Canucks task force[edit]

Hey! I noticed you spend a bit of your time on Wikipedia editing Vancouver Canucks related articels. I have been thinking about starting a Vancouver Canucks task force under WikiProject Ice Hockey for some time now, and am now going into the stage of gathering interest, seeing if anyone would actually be interested in joining. I've made a temporary page for the task force at User:Nurmsook/Vancouver Canucks task force. Basically, I just need to get enough members before I actually launch the task force. I still have to create some templates and alter a few that already exist once I get enough members, so hopefully you will be interested! If you would like to help out, please add your name to the list at User:Nurmsook/Vancouver Canucks task force#Participants. Thanks! – Nurmsook! (talk) 00:01, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have gone ahead and launched the task force. It can be found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice Hockey/Vancouver Canucks task force. If you'd like to add a userbox to your userpage, feel free to add {{User WikiProject Ice Hockey/Vancouver Canucks}}. Basically, for the first little while here, I'll be tagging all applicable pages with the task force option on the talk page. From then on, it'll just be general improvement of the Canucks related articles. Feel free to take any route you please with this task force. Hopefully we can make some great improvements to these articles! – Nurmsook! (talk) 22:42, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ottawa Senators Career Leaders[edit]

Go ahead and update the table. 1. Make sure it's correct. 2. Find a source to replace the one listed. It was part of getting the article to GA. Too bad someone messed up Alfredsson and Fisher. I have reverted it to a version I know was ok. Alaney2k (talk) 13:52, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

could you please do me a favor?[edit]

Hello,

I am a master student at the Institute of Technology Management, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. Currently I am wrapping up my master thesis titled “Can Wikipedia be used for knowledge service?” In order to validate the knowledge evolution maps of identified users in Wikipedia, I need your help. I have generated a knowledge evolution map to denote your knowledge activities in Wikipedia according to your inputs including the creation and modification of contents in Wikipedia, and I need you to validate whether the generated knowledge evolution map matches the knowledge that you perceive you own it. Could you please do me a favor?

  1. I will send you a URL link to a webpage on which your knowledge evolution map displays. Please assign the topic (concept) in the map to a certain cluster on the map according to the relationship between the topic and clusters in your cognition, or you can assign it to ‘none of above’ if there is no suitable cluster.
  2. I will also send a questionnaire to you. The questions are related to my research topic, and I need your viewpoints about these questions.

The deadline of my thesis defense is set by the end of June, 2008. There is no much time left for me to wrap up the thesis. If you can help me, please reply this message. I will send you the URL link of the first part once I receive your response. The completion of my thesis heavily relies much on your generous help.

Sincerely

Yeah no problem, why do people take things so seriously on this site? AWall207 (talk) 00:02, 16 October 2008 (UTC)AWall207[reply]

Okay I'll try to, but I mean the fact he has a girfriend is accurate info, she told me herself. AWall207 (talk) 21:20, 16 October 2008 (UTC)AWall207[reply]

Um so I agree with the person above me that it is true, she tells a lot of people. And also how is wheter or not he has a girlfriend irrelevant? Nearly all athletes wikipedias has info on who they're dating or married too. And when I added it to others there was no conflict and it wasn't deleted.Lynn17 (talk)Lynn17 —Preceding undated comment was added at 20:06, 23 October 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Speedy deletion of Garet Hunt[edit]

A tag has been placed on Garet Hunt requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Fatal!ty (T☠LK) 10:06, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You made some good additions to the Gordie Howe article, but there seems to be a problem with some of the reference tags. It looks like a capitalisation problem.--SaskatchewanSenator (talk) 22:24, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A million thanks for vastly improving this entry! Considering that there are so many Wikipedia entries that need to be improved, you did a HUGE favor for all contributors & users like me. It's unfortunate that Renney was fired. Love your username, too! If the Rangers don't win the Stanley Cup this season, I really hope it will be the Canucks. Again, a million thanks! The Ink Daddy! (talk) 18:53, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've found the article on Evander Kane you wrote a while back. Contrary to a lot of article on minors yours was well referenced and Wikipedia could use that skill. I've tried setting up a WikiProject for articles about Children (perhaps in this case the word minor is more appropriate), but despite mention in the WP:SIGNPOST I had no real response. If you plan on writing any articles on kids in the future, please keep me in the loop and consider joining the project. A project with 5 members can pass by the Wikipedia:WikiProject Council. - Mgm|(talk) 10:11, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So I've been planning to write an article on Sonne for some time now, just waiting on him to reach that notability bar (i.e.: win a major award), and lo and behold, when I go to finally write it, you beat me by about two hours, lol. Just wanted to mention how good a job you've done on this article, and especially Kane's. Always good to see the juniors getting their due. Cheers, Resolute 22:35, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Orlandkurtenbach. You have new messages at Notyourbroom's talk page.

Update: One more response :) I won't zap you with another TB template. —Notyourbroom (talk) 21:47, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sure I'll help work on the article. I forgot about that comment, but at the time, it was in a terrible shape. I noticed on my watch page that you've been doing a lot of work on the article, and have to say good job. I think that if you keep doing what your doing for the article, it would not be unreasonable to nominate it for FA. Kaiser matias (talk) 19:19, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Felt this was appropriate[edit]

Listening to the Vancouver sports radio today, they mentioned that the Wikipedia article on Cody Hodgson was 7 pages long (I'd assume that means printed out), and he is only 19. Knowing that you were the driving force behind that article, and several other Canucks and Vancouver hockey-related articles, I feel that you have more than deserved this:

The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
For work on articles relating to the Vancouver Canucks and Vancouver hockey related articles. Kaiser matias (talk) 06:41, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Keep up the good work, it's been a pleasure to see what you've contributed to help improve the coverage on the Canucks. Kaiser matias (talk) 06:41, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can you?[edit]

In the page Ryan Kesler you appear to have made a Revision as of 22:26, 7 May 2009 by adding text and citations to the article. One of those citations is causing a cite error. Could you please go back and fill out the full source information for the reference tag <ref name=adage/>? Thanks. 75.69.0.58 (talk) 17:59, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Thanks for pointing that out. Orlandkurtenbach (talk) 21:49, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Markus Naslund article[edit]

Sorry for the late reply, but of course, I would like to help. Although... I already had quite a tough time looking things up for the GA... I don't know if I can be of any help expanding it. I've also been away from Wikipedia for a while, so my knowledge of the FA criteria is a bit rusty. But if you are going to bring the article to FAC, I'll do my best to help. – Skyezxmessage 04:16, 27 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nice![edit]

And I thought I was on a roll with Flames BLP articles, lol. I suspect GA reviewers are going to be sick and tired of hockey articles once they get through all of our nominations. Resolute 05:26, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like your first Bure FAC fell down mostly on a lack of reviews rather than any serious objection. I've found in the past that some people will bypass a FAC nomination if they see a lot of discussion on the assumption there is something seriously wrong with the article. If I get a chance in the next bit, I'll give the article a review (possibly for GA, possibly informally). Hopefully you can get it passed on the second effort at FAC. Resolute 15:33, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also, thanks to the fortune of timing, I'll try to get a pic of Kane in a Thrashers jersey tomorrow night. Resolute 16:18, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Added a picture of Kane in a Thrashers jersey, and did a GA review on the Bure article. I've placed it on hold and left several comments. Please let me know when you are ready for a second look. Cheers, Resolute 03:03, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

McLean image[edit]

I think the reasons listed on the image should be enough to keep it on the McLean article. They were what I used to pass the Linden article. My only concern would be that the image was reviewed over a year ago, and standards may have gotten worse in regards to unfree images, and it was not the lead image on the Linden article, which could be a problem.

In regards to the Morenz article, thanks. I've noticed that you have been steadily pumping several Canuck/Giant articles through to become Good Articles. Congrats on getting all those done, its exciting seeing a new hockey article on GAC nearly every day. Looking to add myself another one to that list soon as well, but I don't know which one yet. Kaiser matias (talk) 01:46, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Might as well use it and see what happens. The worst that could happen is you have to remove the image, while if its allowed it makes the article that much better. If need be, I'd be willing to try and plead a case for why the image should still be allowed. Kaiser matias (talk) 01:54, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you give me a day, I can go and add his stats from his all-star games. Just have to get to the library and find the book. Kaiser matias (talk) 02:02, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
