Speedy deletion declined: Littlewoods Index

Hello Reach Out to the Truth. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Littlewoods Index, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The page you want to move here is a redlink. This page seems to exist. Do you just want to move this page to Index (retailer)? In which case, you can just move it, no need for an admin. Thank you. GedUK  20:48, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I just saw your message. I understand what you are saying but at the same time you have to understand that this is a small community in Nigeria still coming up. The references are government, banks, churches and even National dailies in some cases. There is also an ISBN registered book that refers to the place thus I believe these are sufficient. It might not have as much information as New York or London but it does exist. Below are some more links that I found.

http://www.nsukkaonline.net/profiles.htm He is the current Igwe of Ozi-Edem

http://www.nigeria-law.org/Okori%20Nwaezema%20&%20Ors%20%20V%20%20Obeta%20Nwaiyeke%20&%20Ors.htm

Google this link http://www.budgetoffice.gov.ng/pub/sqw.pdf, open the pdf file then go to (page 31 second paragraph). It's the National Budget with Edem listed.

http://allafrica.com/stories/200506130552.html (Nsukka East LG written there is a mistake)

http://ndn.nigeriadailynews.com/templates/default.aspx?a=15995&template=print-article.htm (Refers to a zone of Edem, Akpa-Edem).

http://www.flickr.com/photos/edeminvestmentanddevelopmentauthority/4022505376/in/photostream/ this is a flickr photostream of Edem.

Let me know if you need more information. Thanks.(Eidaofedem (talk) 08:20, 27 January 2010 (UTC)).

Hi, found another link. This is a case study on rural banking in Edem and other communities.

http://www.unn.edu.ng/home/index2.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_view&gid=20866&Itemid=306

Thanks. (Eidaofedem (talk) 08:38, 27 January 2010 (UTC)).

Hi, one more link mentioning the community secondary school in Edem.

http://www.scribd.com/doc/18480226/List-of-Public-Secondary-Schools-in-Nigeria

Thanks. (Eidaofedem (talk) 09:48, 27 January 2010 (UTC)).

COnfirmation

Hi,

Just wanted to confirm if the information I provided is ok with and whether I can take down the message about deletion on the article. Thanks. (Eidaofedem (talk) 08:22, 29 January 2010 (UTC)).

I wouldn't advise taking down the notice yet. It is supposed to stay up until the discussion is closed by an administrator. Deletion discussions usually run for seven days, but could go longer or shorter than that depending on the situation. It has only been three days and we're the only two people to have commented on the discussion, so it's unlikely that a decision would be made this early. Reach Out to the Truth 21:38, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi, that's ok. Just let me know if you need more information. Thanks.(Eidaofedem (talk) 22:24, 30 January 2010 (UTC)).

Your rollback request

I have granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe you can be trusted to use rollback correctly, and for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. re: repalcement of warning at User talk:24.15.188.251

I must politely but firmly ask for an explanation as to why my level 2 warning was deleted, and replaced with your level 2 warning. This IP's last vandal warning (a a level 1) was only 5 days ago. LonelyBeacon (talk) 05:21, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

The warning was automatically included with my reversion of that edit. It seems that you must have added the warning after Huggle opened the page for editing but before it was actually saved. Reach Out to the Truth 05:28, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for that ... darn vandals move too quick to be caught. Feel free to drop a level 3 over there if you want .... Best of luck in continued vandal busting. LonelyBeacon (talk) 05:32, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Are you able to revert multiple edits? If so, please help me out by reverting all of the recent edits to the last edit by an established user. Problem accepting password

Very recently, in the last two weeks, I have been "logged off" in the middle of editing. Also, as recently as this morning, and at least three times previously, my password, though I correctly inserted it repeatedly, would not be accepted. Then, it goes to what looks like a Wiki page but it asked for my username and password, (not the "create account page"). Since I have never seen this page until recently, and since it asks for my username and password, which it never did before, I go out of Wiki and come back in. The same happens even after restarting computer. Then, suddenly, at some later point in time, it will take the password, either alone or (only sometimes) after security writing is inserted as shown. It has happened too many times to be a coincidence. My computer is new within the year and my security software is in place, and since I have had no other problems on other internet sites, I wonder if this is some kind of vandalism within Wiki site. Would be grateful for any advice or investigation. Thank you Mugginsx (talk) 11:06, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

Seems fixed for now. Thanks Mugginsx (talk) 09:28, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

RE: Whiskey Media References

In most cases they tell me themselves, then I get confirmation from the other staff. In Daniel Miesner (Riezner)'s case he actually told me around August 2009 when he commented on a Comic Vine article. When I saw his staff tag I immediately didn't recognise him as a programmer so I asked him and he said he was the Marketing Manager. Then when Tony tweeted about him bringing some beer into the office about 25 minutes a go I checked his Twitter account to make sure I was following him and noticed his real name, Daniel Miesner, didn't ring any bells concerning the Whiskey Media wiki page, so I added him.

When other people add them (which I assume it's themselves if it isn't you) I go get confirmation from Sara or Gia depending on which site has the change. For example, as far as I was aware Kane was still with WM so it was quite a surprise when his name had gone and replaced with Joey's. One quick PM to Sara and she confirmed that Joey is the new Video producer for CV.

That reminds me, I need to ask around about this Joshua Yanchar Engineer who appeared without me knowing about him (unless, again that was you).

Update: Apparently Joshua has been at WM for a while now - http://www.meetup.com/The-San-Francisco-Django-Meetup-Group/members/11311710/

FLStyle (talk) 01:44, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Hm, I see. That doesn't really sound verifiable by Wikipedia's standards. You might want to ask them to publish that information so it can be cited, otherwise it's just original research. Reach Out to the Truth 02:16, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

I've got in touch with Joshua and asked about updating staff additions in the form of the whiskeymedia.com/about page, that's probably the only thing I can think of that they could do. They might do it or they might not, time will tell. But other than that it's up to you whether the additions stay up or have to be removed.FLStyle (talk) 03:06, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Rollback abuse

You do know rollback is for clear cut vandalism only, don't you?--Lorson (talk) 15:41, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

"Provided that an explanation is supplied in an appropriate location, such as at the relevant talk page, rollback may also be used in circumstances where widely spread edits (by a misguided editor or malfunctioning bot) are judged to be unhelpful to the encyclopedia, since such edits would be tedious to revert manually." From Wikipedia:Rollback feature. Reach Out to the Truth 15:42, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
You didn't read the Wikipedia:Rollback_feature#Mass_rollbacks section? "Rollbacks may be used, with caution, if a large number of non-vandalism reverts need to be carried out (for instance, if a discussion agreed that a set of edits by an editor or bot need to be undone)" - where is this discussion?--Lorson (talk) 15:47, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
The discussion was at WT:WikiProject Video games. You chose to ignore it and continue removing the links without even trying to evaluate their merit on a case-by-case basis. Reach Out to the Truth 15:49, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
I removed them in the same way they were added. Could you show me where this discussion is that all my edits should be reverted? I can't seem to find it at WT:WikiProject Video games.--Lorson (talk) 15:52, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
I don't think anyone said you had to be reverted, but you were asked by several people to stop and discuss the links instead. You have not done that. So I'll ask again. Please stop and attempt to discuss which links should stay and which should go. The links have been there for years and there's no consensus for removing all of them. Reach Out to the Truth 15:57, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

I have marked it for speedy deletion, but it hasn't been handed by an administrator yet. Reach Out to the Truth 02:15, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
aren't you an administrator? how they gonna see it without inform them? (talk) 02:25, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
No, I'm not an admin. An admin will see it because it's tagged for speedy deletion and appears in Category:Candidates for speedy deletion. Reach Out to the Truth 02:28, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Why me or you or anyone just can't delete / change or edit the talk or article or texts if found that not suit to remain in web without get assisting from administrator? so something if we want to delete / edit it do we have to request to Admin always? if deleting any texts even the own written by his/her own wishes in any where of wiki page does it become breaking the wiki rules or will be punish?

myo007 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Myo007 (talkcontribs) 02:46, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Delete not proceeding now:

The delete request won't work now because someone want to reverse to it there, he had first told me not to do personal attack so that i tried to cancel what my previous wrote in that discuss page so how can i understand he did himself again the word that i thought might become personal attack and i tried to edited?

if he doesn't like personal attack to someone and then why he reverse the words again and again even though i try to cancel my wrote or requested to delete.

it become against with first he wished and second he did by reversing again and again being become against of his two sayings.

i think it's should be allow to edit by someone's own previous write if he/ she thought that his/her own written was inappropriate at first and it's shouldn't take account as either vandalism since it can be his/her own wrote at first too and he/she may try to change or edit after.

is that reverse person a staff here like Mod, Admin or any staff? Because he get involve the case so he might has some reason to do so like his responsible duty as a staff.

Thanks for your help.

Myo007 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 08:41, 8 April 2010 (UTC).

The relevant guideline is WP:REDACT. It is now almost impossible to make sense of what has happened at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Agga Maha Pandita because of all the changes that Myo007 has made, and I have not attempted to do so. However, the comment they made at Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_deletion/Agga_Maha_Pandita was also pertinent, and was responded to on the main page with this edit, so should not be removed but struck. I42 (talk) 09:05, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Then can you please just don't vote for delete and please may reshape it with any right style that it might suit please, thanks. i think it not required to delete it but can either reshape it or edit it the right way better.

also i tried to remove that discuss content that previous my own words since your said that not to do personal attack and the edit in that case i made was just because tried to listen to you as you said not to do personal attack. if i don't listen or follow anything i won't change like that or today thing happened vandalism thought also won't happen.

Thanks for your respond anyway

Hey there. Thanks for taking a look at those various game articles. I'm glad they're at least not stubs. Another editor put out a challenge to create articles for all the Game Room releases, so any support or assistance you can provide would be awesome. --McDoobAU93 (talk) 21:40, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

I have actually used it a couple times. It does seem to be able to unearth slightly older vandalism that has gone undetected, so maybe I'll do a bit more vandalism detection with it. Reach Out to the Truth 00:17, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Mario Kart 3DS Tracks

Hi. I noticed that you reverted an anon. trying to add an unsourced track list to the Mario Kart 3DS article. While I appreciate the reverts, I was confused by your edit summary here, as well as the UWs left on the talk page, both referring to requiring a source. However, per WP:NOTGUIDE, even if well-sourced directly from Nintendo, this manual-type info is not relevant or encyclopedic. Unless there is a compelling reason for inclusion, this applies to lists of playable characters, lists of tracks or worlds, styles or methods of play, tricks or codes, etc. as well. I hope you weren't actually suggesting that the user add such content to an article, even when it has been sourced; again, this would violate WP:NOTGUIDE. In the future, you may want to be more clear about what is unacceptable content to newcomers, even if the content is sourced. Thanks. DKqwerty (talk) 12:56, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Re: Re: Rollercoaster World

The majority of articles about video games on Wikipedia are 'not notable' - take a look on the video game project - there's thousands of articles like Rollercoaster World, that are small and hard to find references for. It's not hidden vandalism or a parody - I don't know why you're being so deletion-happy with this. I could understand if I wrote an article about my local church or my pet Yorkshire terrier that would be 'not notable', but it's a video game - that's been published and bought by people, if any of those people wanted to find some info about it they read it here. It's not if Wikipedia has a limited on the amount of articles that can be made. It not hurting any one or thing on Wikipedia if a video game article is a little on the skinny side.
It's not nice to have someone delete something you've spent half-an-hour on, a complete waste of my time. No wonder people leave this place
--George2001hi (Discussion) 16:17, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

You'll notice that I did not nominate it for deletion. I merely marked it as needing references for notability. It could remain in that state for years without anyone nominating it for deletion or adding references. There's no hurry, but if you're working on the article why not look for some references?
And if you're not satisfied with Wikipedia's notability requirements, there are plenty of other wikis without notability guidelines that would happily accept the article. Reach Out to the Truth 17:07, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

I am sorry that this user believes that I am vadalizing the page. I am simply trying to correct some of the information on there that is not correct and it seems that others are not willing to let me do that. I am pleading my case to an admin so I ask that you be patient until it is all sorted out.Historicalidentity (talk) 02:58, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

Regarding the LGBT logo on the DADT page.

First, I apologize for editing the "LGBT logo". I was unaware that my efforts to remove the LGBT logo impacted all the other locations within Wikipedia where the LGBT logo may be appropriately located. That was not my intention.

With regard to the LGBT Logo on the DADT article page; I think that is quite apparent why it is simply inappropriate to have the logo located on the DAD article page. It violates any sense of neutrality. If anything it detracts from the accomplishment itself.

I realize that you might feel that you are helping along those struggling to to repeal this blatant snubbing of our civil rights. And even though I agree with your position, it is simply inappropriate to place the LGBT logo on the same page as the DADT article. If you just take a minute to step back from situation, you will realize that I am correct.

-P4URT —Preceding unsigned comment added by Penny4URThoughts (talkcontribs) 19:07, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

I was never involved with this situation. I'm pretty far back already. I just want to make sure you understand that you need consensus to remove it, and that blanking a template is never the correct way of removing the template from an article. Reach Out to the Truth 19:11, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

Ah, sorry. It's called moving, not renaming. See Wikipedia:Requested moves for information on how to make a request. Reach Out to the Truth 21:56, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Ow, I know moving. But the problem is I can't move Jungle (video game console) to Panasonic Jungle because it is a 'redirect conflict'.
That's why you should make a request. An admin can perform the move while preserving the history of each page, or delete the other if there's nothing worth keeping and nothing to attribute. Reach Out to the Truth 22:12, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
