Advice[edit]

Hi Sasha! Can I point you to Wikipedia:Guidance for younger editors. I just want to make sure you've read that and are comfortable with everything on your user page. Particularly, it isn't always advised to put your age on your user page. I don't mean to scare you or anything, but if you do decide to remove your age, I can have an administrator get rid of the history for you. If you have any questions, just ask and I'd be happy to answer them. Ryan Vesey 19:53, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, thanks for that link. :3 It was quite helpful and I read all of it. But, question - "left their mark on society for ever". Doesn't it sound a little, um, biased? I thought we were supposed to maintain a neutral point of view? :P Anyway, to the age thing. Is it risky to put it up there? I mean, it's being discouraged and such... hmm... Red Hat On Head (talk) 20:22, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
On the neutral point of view argument, it is a bit difficult to make any argument that the statement wasn't true :) At the same time, our neutral point of view requirements are a bit less strict outside of the article space. It isn't necessarily risky; however, there are some editors around here that view age before maturity so there's a possibility you could be treated differently. You also have to remember that Wikipedia is public so any information you put on your user page can be accessed by anybody. If you are comfortable with that, it is fine to have the information there. I just wanted to point it out to you so you could make an informed decision. Ryan Vesey 20:33, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, you do have a good point. :D But how will an admin help if I want to remove my age? Red Hat On Head (talk) 20:46, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
They can make it so it doesn't appear in the page history. Ryan Vesey 20:54, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, that's cool. I noticed that you put your age up on your user page. Have you ever been treated differently because of this? Red Hat On Head (talk) 20:56, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've hit the age of majority, so editors don't make as much of a deal about it; however, I recently ran for adminship and the fact that I was young was mentioned. That being said, my age had little to do with my unsuccessful RfA. Age was a more major issue at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Guoguo12 2 and the editor actually stopped editing after his run. In both cases, age wasn't the only issue, but there will always be editors who cannot look past it. Ryan Vesey 21:01, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, why did it even fail? You had so much support? Come on, if I were around, I would've supported you. :3 And the block thing wasn't immature. Hey, if people want to block themselves, let them! -sigh- Anyway. I think I'll leave it there for now, but if I get treated differently, then I can take the chance to prove the other person wrong! Thanks a lot for taking your time out for this, though!

P.S. Are you adopting users? Cause you know, you seem like a fun person to be around, and you certainly are good admin material! :3 You can guide me, right? Red Hat On Head (talk) 21:32, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I can certainly set up an adoption program for you. I'm a bit busy today so I can try to set it up tomorrow. Be feel free to ask me or the other teahouse hosts for assistance at any time. On the topic of RfA's, had I run this week I might have made it. We just had 3 requests pass without a single oppose and we've got two more that haven't had a single oppose. That is unheard of in RfA's; however, I wouldn't worry about getting too involved in there yet we want to make sure you have experience in the other parts of the wiki first. As another note on adminship, Sarah, the friendly woman who notified you of the teahouse, recently became the first administrator to pass with over 200 supports and not a single oppose. As one final note, a good way to get started editing if you don't know what to do is to get involved with Wikipedia:WikiProject Wikify. I can try to help you learn how to wikify an article and then you could take part in our drive that will be going throughout the entire month of August. If you are interested, you can look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Wikify/Drives/Instructions and I can answer any questions you have. Ryan Vesey 21:43, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ooh, that was so cool! What do people do at RfA's? Dig all over your user history and then ask you questions? I remember reading a WikiHow article on how to run for adminship. Guess you have to be REALLY experienced and involved to have a successful run. A kind of silly question - what's an adoption program, and how do people set up one? :P OH MY GOD O_O Sorry a fly just buzzed in my ear and scared the heck out of me. Yeah, I saw, you're a member of that, right? Isn't Wikifying adding links on articles to other articles? That seems pretty simple. And cool, yay for August. :D My birthday's on 29 August. -does a little dance- But anyway, the Wikifying thing, I think I can help with the Indian films stuff, that's one of my favorite things to do. A lot of stubs there. But I've noticed images being added, like posters and stuff. I can't upload an image yet, and it's just way too troublesome to ask someone else, so I'll just sit and wait. One more question - what are barnstars and how do you get one? I see them all over talkpages, and there were two of them at the Indian cinema task force page. Red Hat On Head (talk) 21:52, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's pretty much right about RfA's. As for an adoption program, I currently run a program that I took from my mentor, Worm That Turned (he is a really nice person as well and a great one to ask questions if I'm not around). It consists of some lessons and then some tests that help you learn Wikipedia's policies. As for setting it up, I just need to create a page for you. There are some other aspects with Wikification. I recently wrote a (probably boring) editorial on how to Wikify an article. If you are interested you can read it at Wikipedia:WikiProject Wikify/News/July 2012/Editorials, but for now the most applicable part is adding wiki links to the articles. Maybe to get you started we can tag team the articles, you could add wikilinks and I could do some of the other formatting. I can help you learn how to create the infoboxes as you get more comfortable with it. Finally, barnstars are Wikipedia's way of giving recognition to another editor for the work they did. Editors give them out when they notice the other editor doing something that is very productive. They can also be used as a way of saying thank you. See the heart at the top of a talk page? That can be used to help you give another editor a barnstar. I'll leave one final comment. I made File:Sebastian Lake talk page.png to help explain some things to another editor. You might be interested in looking at that. Ryan Vesey 22:21, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's cool, you use Chrome! :3 Thanks for that one, I think I can add a few pages to my watchlist. The adoption thing is cool, but can you mentor me? I mean, you took time off to tell me about displaying my age on my user page and you answered my silly questions, so. :P And sure, the article thing is cool! I just went to Shammi Kapoor and edited the filmography, fixing the links, because they were all leading to the wrong pages. Is that considered Wikifying a page? Also, what do you think of creating a new article named Shammi Kapoor filmography? Because the table is there, and with some link fixing, it could be an article, right? Other actors have seperate pages for their filmographies too. And ooh, barnstars seem nice. :D Red Hat On Head (talk) 23:23, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I can certainly mentor you. Since I run the adoption program, I assumed you were referring to that. What you did was called disambiguating. There is another huge project related to that Wikipedia:WikiProject Disambiguation. That's a very important step because we don't want readers to be forced to look through that entire page to figure out what we're talking about. Links that go to the wrong page entirely are even worse. Can you imagine what a reader thinks of Wikipedia if they see a sentence that said "Mrs. Jones' class had many pupils" and they click pupils and it leads to pupil? I'm actually not entirely sure about the filmography article. I think we deal with tables a bit differently. If it was text, the rule of thumb for whether to split it or not is WP:SIZERULE. I asked some editors more experienced than me in that area of the encyclopedia. Hopefully they can give us an answer. See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film#Filmography articlesRyan Vesey 13:48, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It seems like you can create it. Here is a guide you might want to read before doing so. In addition, you should use Split content from [[Shammi Kapoor]] as your edit summary when you create the new page and Split content to [[Shammi Kapoor filmography]] as your edit summary when you remove the content from the old one. Then you can add {{Copied}} to both articles' talk pages. I can do that part for you if you want help. You might also like to read Wikipedia:Splitting before you do so. Finally, for an example of what the new page should look like, take a look at Arnold Schwarzenegger filmography which is a featured list. Ryan Vesey 15:02, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
And yaaaaaaaaay! What are we gonna do first? And thank you so much for the barnstar! :3 It looks so... so... shiny! Red Hat On Head (talk) 18:27, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, yay! I'll go off and get to it, and fix the links as well. I dunno about the Copied part, but the rest sounds good. And thanks for the example! :3 Red Hat On Head (talk) 18:27, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, yeah, how do you create a user sub-page? :P Red Hat On Head (talk) 18:31, 1 August 2012 (UTC) And don't mind this. Shammi Kapoor filmography[reply]
You create a user sub-page by doing a search for User:Red Hat On Head/NAME OF SUBPAGE then you can click on a link to create the page. The button appears at different spots on different times so you might need to look around a bit, but it will usually appear near the top under the search bar line. On another note, I just created User:Ryan Vesey/Adopt/Red Hat On Head for you. Ryan Vesey 18:37, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Give me 5 minutes, and thanks for the answer! I'm trying to create the filmography page, and I just messed up a couple of links on another article. jlfk/lcjk lf Arghhhhhhh. Red Hat On Head (talk) 18:45, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yay! You just created your first article! I just fixed a link for you using a really awesome tool. A lot of Indian movie articles have this problem so you might find it useful. It's called the Dab solver. All you need to do is type in the name of the article or the url of the article and it will help you fix the links! Ryan Vesey 18:54, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yaaay! :3 That was easy enough! I created the talkpage as well! And yeah, I noticed the link thing. Awesome! Now I'll head on over to the page you created for me and I'll go read it. Red Hat On Head (talk) 19:01, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Guide (film)[edit]

Sasha, you really are getting to grips with the tables and that - I'm really impressed, I didn't dare try those until I had been editing for ages. I've done a slight tidy on the awards table you added to Guide (film), you can see the difference here. Each row needed to have 6 columns in it, some only had 5, others 7 which is why there was a raggedy right edge. Keep up the good work :-) NtheP (talk) 20:07, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ooh, thanks! Got a little confused with that one. ;D Thanks for tidying it though. The edge was bothering me. :P Red Hat On Head (talk) 20:14, 31 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Have a bit of FUN[edit]

Howdy, Red Hat. I'm almost five times your age but needed help starting out. I found that Pluma's pages for adoptees helped me. I particularly liked his FUN STUFF. Check it out. DocTree (talk) 02:22, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, that was very helpful! :3 Red Hat On Head (talk) 03:02, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Autoconfirmed[edit]

You should be autoconfirmed by now. Do you have access to the move button at the top of pages? Is it possible that you are editing using TorRyan Vesey 20:08, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What is Tor? I'm a Firefox user. Red Hat On Head (talk) 20:10, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Tor is a thing that allows you to edit the internet anonymously. Can you look at Bhopal disaster? Does it say edit or view source at the top? Ryan Vesey 20:16, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I can edit it! Yay! Red Hat On Head (talk) 20:20, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome! That means you are autoconfirmed now! Ryan Vesey 20:22, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Can you help me with uploading a picture? I wanna upload an album cover for Guide, though I'm scared I'll get the licensing wrong and have it deleted. Red Hat On Head (talk) 20:31, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yep. The two licenses you need are {{Album rationale}} and {{Non-free album cover}}. If you upload the image using upload file on the left, or just click Wikipedia:File Upload Wizard, I can make sure the license is correct. Ryan Vesey 20:39, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
is it okay? There. Red Hat On Head (talk) 20:59, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I made a slight modification and then added it to the article. Good work! Ryan Vesey 21:17, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yay, thanks! Will it be okay to add a screenshot from the movie? Just one? It qualifies as fair use, right?
Generally no, you would have to make a compelling argument that the screenshot illustrated something in the movie that is described in the text but cannot be fully explained in text alone. Perhaps you can point me to the screenshot you wish to use, or upload the screenshot to a less restrictive site and give me the link. Then we can ask some of the experts at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions just to be sure. Ryan Vesey 21:27, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Arghhhh! -ripping hair out- Why not?!?!?!!? Images always help the text, and we're just using one low-resolution one, which doesn't hurt commercial opportunities! Red Hat On Head (talk) 21:57, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It is part of the freedom of Wikipedia. Since almost everything listed on Wikipedia is released under a CC-BY-SA license, we try to avoid anything else as much as possible. Ryan Vesey 22:20, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
...-big sigh- Fine. But I have a sorta question - I remember there used to be an awards table for Dev Anand, and the link to his filmography is missing. What the heck happened...? Red Hat On Head (talk) 22:27, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

An editor deleted it all without an explanation. I restored the content. Ryan Vesey 22:32, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! What about his filmography link though? Red Hat On Head (talk) 22:38, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I restored that tooRyan Vesey 22:40, 3 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A kitten for you![edit]

Ping pong ball kittens are the best! I was very encouraged by your page, Red Hat, and your enthusiasm and good nature too. So, I'm sending you this kitten. (It's not a barn star, but much cuddlier, hey?) Enjoy! Oh, and happy birthday too!!!  :-) Cynthisa (talk) 06:37, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I want a kitten in real life too. :D :D What's your name? You seem nice! ;3 Red Hat On Head (talk) 16:11, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am Cynthisa. I have two cats right now. One we call "our kitten" but she's really about 2 years old. But she's still the "baby" of the family -- and spoiled rotten too, LOL! Her name is Sadie, and she's a calico. Our other cat is Ernie, he's about 11 years old now - we think. We don't know for sure cuz we adopted him from the animal shelter and they had no idea his age since he'd come in as a stray. They thought he was about 8 then. I'm so glad we got him (older cats sometimes don't get adopted :-( ) He is my TEDDYBEAR!!! If I'm in bed, he ALWAYS comes and cuddles up with me!!! Even if its the middle of the day. He's an orange tabby, with long fluffy hair (which gets everywhere!) and white paws (socks!) and white chest and tummy. I'm definitely a "cat person" -- LOL!!! My initials spell CAT too, lucky me! Well, let us know if u get a kitty. I'll keep an eye here. Good luck with your wikipedia-ing. You seem to pick it up really fast -- I am very impressed. Good for you! Keep up the good work.

Cynthisa (talk) 17:12, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Looking forward to it![edit]

I am sort of new to Wikipedia. And your welcome for the tea. I personally LOVE tea. I hope you like Wikipedia. I haven't edited anything yet. I would love to learn more about the things you have edited. If you know anything about editing, please tell me. That would be great. I really want to finally be accepted into Wikipedia! Also, do you like my User page picture? B.T.W- My name is Deidra. Pronounced- "Dee-dra". I am looking forward to helping you, and having you help me. Thanks. P.S- I really want to edit -"Tea" because I know all about it! If you want to tell me something, please go to my Talk Page, but it is okay if you answer on your talk page. I'm looking forward to your edits on Wikipedia, and if you ever have the time, we should edit something together! Thanks! P.S- I would love it if you added me to your Watchlist! PLease add me! Thanks. BTW- you are on MY watchlist! I hope you have an awesome week!

Yup, the dagger is really cool! I've been really lazy about my userpage lately (Copyright issues won't let me put up stuff that I want, so...), so yeah. And that's cool! I admittedly like Darjeeling tea 'cause I like Darjeeling. And I like Darjeeling because some of my favorite movies were filmed there! Yes, I really love old Hindi films, and I'm trying to edit the articles on that. It's hard, but stuff's picking up - more pictures, less stubs, and I try to pitch in with plot summaries. :D Red Hat On Head (talk) 20:34, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That is pretty cool. It's really hard for me to come up with stuff. SO, DO you like daggers? I'm fascinated by them. Their designs amaze me. I think they are really beautiful. I am also fascinated by most guns. I love the way they look. People say it's weird for my age, but whatever. AGAIN- you seem cool and also you are an AMAZING Wikipedian. PS- thanks for talking to me. :-) I'd appreciate if you answered here and my talk page. Thanks. Also I'm thinking about switching my pictures, one day from another. You should check once and a while. Thanks. DEIDRA C. (talk) 21:54, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OH YEAH! What's your culture? I'm Açorian and Puerto Rican. If you can answer this question on MY TALK PAGE! Please answer on MY talk page! thanks! DEIDRA C. (talk) 22:12, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hope I'm the first![edit]

Hope you're happy!
I hope I'm the first to FINALLY send you some Darjeeling tea! I think you really deserve this Indian tea, that's why I'm giving it to you! I have searched the internet, to find this tea so I can give it to you as a present. It's about time someone has given you an excellent Birthday present! *laugh* I hope you're thankful to me, for your Darjeeling Indian tea! I also hope that you're happy because I have been very sad. :-( , but it's okay. as long as you get something you want. Enjoy your Darjeeling tea! If you want to reply, please reply on my talk page, or here on your talk page. BTW- PLEASE ADD ME TO YOUR WATCHLIST! You are on MY watchlist! Thanks you, and your welcome! Hope you are happy about your tea! Happy to help! I also hope we can edit some stuff together! You seem like a great Wikipedian! Bye, Sash! Enjoy your gift! DEIDRA C. (talk) 17:31, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Aww, why are you sad? Well, I am kind of stressed out. Family issues. Then I'm just being sad and mopey over the death of one of my favorite actors... But thanks for the tea! You are the first! ;) Red Hat On Head (talk) 20:34, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your welcome. I know you have been asking for some Darjeeling Indian tea. Again- you're very welcome! :-) I'm sad because I have been really stressed with all the stupid 6th grade homework, that I have. Got a HUGE project due tomorrow. BTW- Who is your favorite actor? Oh yeah. I wanted to ask you, I am writing a section. I think it is going to be well done. I want you to read it and if you LIKE it, go to MY page and send me a comment or WikiLove. Yup! I got some in real life, and poured almost half the bottle of creamer in there. Black tea isn't quite my thing. :P I recently moved to the US from Singapore, so I'm stressed over that too. And heck, the 8th grade stuff is so easy that I can fall asleep in class and still get straight A's. But then I can't use my damn computer because, IT IS A WEEKDAY. Stupidest thing I've heard in my life. So I'm just sitting around with nothing to do - no homework either. I just want to go back to Singapore. My favorite actor, well, there's no one favorite actor! ;) Let's see. I like Dev Anand, 'cause I dunno, I had a crush on him. Before he died. I also like Shammi Kapoor - when he died, I didn't exactly know him, but I was sad. Now a year later I've watched more of his films and loved them. Mostly I'm sad over Rajesh Khanna. My father was actually named after him! I like him... yeah... I know it kind of seems weird, liking dead people, but YouTube lets me live in another era. :) And sure, I'll check out your paragraph! You can feel free to use a sandbox or the like, nobody will nail you there. Red Hat On Head (talk) 21:35, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Same for me. I like music hardly anyone listens to on YouTube. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dubstep music more than anything and Alternative(rock). I watch only like 2 shows. I watch cartoons ALL THE TIME! So, what's your culture or ethnicity? DEIDRA C. (talk) 21:59, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I saw your photo![edit]

I saw the picture of you on your User Page. Awwwwww. Your so pretty! And what an awesome description. May I ask what your culture is? I've been meaning to ask. You are such a brilliant writer. But I'm serious- you are very pretty. :) DEIDRA C. (talk) 20:57, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Deidra! :D I'm half-Indian and half-Chinese, but I grew up in Singapore. :) Red Hat On Head (talk) 21:53, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's AWESOME! I always loved to hear about the Asian culture. That is very cool. I bet your hair is fine. That is how most Asian people are. That is very cool, though. My hair is thick and frissy. Lol. But again- I love the Chinese culture. That's very cool. I was sort of guessing that you were part Indian because of all the films you talk about. I'd love to hear more about your culture, BTW. That is very awesome. Thanks for replying! DEIDRA C. (talk) 22:01, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, my hair is crazy thick, and I like it long. Everyone HATES how thick it is because it's hard to handle, and it gets hot, but it's worth my friends thinking it's pretty. Meh, it's okay for me. And yeah, I'm strangely more Chinese than Indian (great-grandmother was Chinese too!), but I love Hindi films. I'm actually a Punjabi (which is sort of Hindu, but different), so I should be liking Punjabi cinema... no? But I bet there's no one as cute as Shammi Kapoor when he was young in Punjabi cinema. :D Red Hat On Head (talk) 23:15, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Heh. Thats funny. DEIDRA C. (talk) 18:37, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What!?[edit]

Thanks Red Hat! How could you not love brownies?! Just kidding. I respect your opinion. I love ice cream, too. But I LOVE putting cold icecream on warm brownies. I love the cold hot sensation you get. But, anyway, thanks for the reply. I'll count your vote for ice cream! Thank you. DEIDRA C. (talk) 21:58, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, wow! Must've been scary. :D And you're welcome. Do you need to block the other account though, so that you're not accused of sockpuppetry?
I doubt that Deidra will be accused of sockpuppetry, I have provided links to earlier statements she made about her password as proof. In addition, she's been open about changing accounts. I do think the bureaucrat will block the old account. That usually occurs with old accounts to make sure nobody can try to figure out the password and then pretend to be Deidra. Ryan Vesey 23:23, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, okay. Just making sure. Did you see the message I posted on your talkpage, Ryan? And when you have time, can you post the test on our lessons page? I'm excited. :D Tomorrow's report card day and our teacher told us our English and History grades - I got 95 each! Worried about my Math grade though. And I just uploaded a picture under a non-free license, hope it's okay! Red Hat On Head (talk) 23:26, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I did, I'll subst the test soon, I'm attempting to stay off Wikipedia as much as I can until the library closes at midnight. (I'm working on an essay) Great job so far on your report card and you can legitimately let me know if you need assistance with math, if anything I can help point you to some good websites that could help you improve or explain some concepts (it's possibly that we'd need to be on irc for that). The picture you just uploaded is great, I'll watchlist it just in case there are any problems. As for the image you told me about on my page, I think it should be moved from commons to local storage and only used on Nargis. It's the same URAA law. Ryan Vesey 00:39, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

For this comment. I don't know if he will agree with you, but being able to discuss an issue with another editor and creating a well-laid-out reasoning for your point is very important.  Ryan Vesey 20:25, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much, Ryan! :D You just made my day. Was pretty upset with my dumb Math grade. 74%. I hate algebra. We never had to do that in Singapore. And I got everything else above 95%, and all everyone can harp about is the stupid Math grade. Ugh. But thanks! I am kind of certain that the ratings won't budge though. (Had a look around, Kishore Kumar, being a singer, wasn't even supported by the Indian music workgroup and was listed as only high. Oh, and Mid on WP India. While Lata Mangeshkar gets 'Top' on WP India and the Indian cinema workgroup. Stupid media bias.) But thanks for the barnstar! You're the best! -hugs- Red Hat On Head (talk) 20:29, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bollywood movies[edit]

Hi! Glad you like old Hindi movies. You can start by expanding our stubs from Bollywood films of 1940 and onwards!♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 17:15, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yay! Another old Hindi film lover! I focus on more 50's and 60's and occasionally 70's, but I do sometimes like to help with late 40's films like Mahal or Barsaat. Red Hat On Head (talk) 18:33, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah Nargis and her films are high priority. I got Mother India (1957 film) up to GA. but so much work needed on most to even get up to start status. You know how to ref and use google books?. Search for films in http://books.google.com// . Paste url hits into http://reftag.appspot.com/ and click load. Try searching for a poorly sourced Nargis film for instance, usually you can find scraps of info..♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 18:44, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If you like the 50's I've noticed that Bollywood films of 1950 (an article created by the great Dr. Blofeld) shows that a movie that was either called Samadhi or Edi Tota was the highest grossing Bollywood film of the year. Do you know anything about about the film? It would be a great second article for you to create if you do. Ryan Vesey 18:47, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh cool. I watched Mother India some time ago, and it was a great movie, though I kept expecting Raaj Kumar to come back. :( And poor Sunil Dutt. I actually cheered when he killed the moneylender. I know how to ref, and such, but I usually get stuck in the gap between Start- and B or C class. You know, old films, not many references, so it's sort of sad.
HI RYAN. :D I dunno about that (To be honest my comfort zone is around '55 to '72, and I'm a more mainstream cinema kind of person. SONGS, SONGS, SONGS! :DDDD), but yeah, I've noticed a lot of those Bollywood films of whatever-year need a lot of work. A LOT of work. Red Hat On Head (talk) 18:59, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Try Shree 420. If you need any assistance, feel free to talk page message me. There's actually a lot of missing films still which are not linked, newer films with same titles etc.♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 18:44, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I love Shree 420, actually I do think Raj Kapoor was very handsome in it. And the songs are awesome. I'll go get to work. Red Hat On Head (talk) 18:59, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Half way through watching Mere Jeevan Saathi (1972 film). Excellent soundtrack, really flamboyant film. Jyoti reminds me of an Indian Jennifer Lopez!♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 13:47, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ooh. I was watching that movie, but I freaked out at the start (It took a LOT of self-convincing to go back and watch it), and I was yelling, "RAJESH, GOSH, WHAT'S WITH THOSE YUCKY PICTURES. AAAARGH." I love the song "O Mere Dil Ke Chain". Rajesh is just so melt-worthy in that! He's so handsome! (And I found out I have brown pants like his. Got so excited. :D) Although I did notice that when the friend took Jyoti and her father to "show them Prakash's reality" (I was thinking, "Ah dang, that's game over."), there was a Teesri Manzil poster! Weeeeee! If I could, I'd go tear down all the posters from walls and collect them! I kind of stopped watching it after I saw the song "Aao Na Gale Lagaao Na", because I was just staring. Then I rolled off the bed and lay there. Shocked. OH MY GOODNESS, RAJESH, WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?! I mean I know Helen is in a negative role and all, but seriously. -faints- Red Hat On Head (talk) 16:06, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Helen in the film reminds me of a girl I used to know and the love was unrequited. She was sooo irritating and could be really nasty just like her character! I wrote a new plot and found some scraps but not near enough as I'd like to documenting the film. I wonder if there is an old The Hindu archive in India or something which might have full reviews of such films.. They have to exist somewhere.. ♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 17:13, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Haha, you must've been as attractive as Rajesh, then! I saw, but I didn't read it, because I don't want spoilers. Yesterday I put up a poster on it. :3 Red Hat On Head (talk) 17:43, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you![edit]

The Rekha Award of Fine Hindi Film Editing
Great to have you on board with Indian cinema. A lot of my stubs from 1930s to 1990s need expansion! I started a drive to cover 40s films but not enough editors to help out! ♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 17:20, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! :D Yeah, they do need expansion. A lot. Red Hat On Head (talk) 18:33, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bored[edit]

I'm super bored right now. Came home super early from school today and I can't think of anything to do. DEIDRA C. (talk) 19:02, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I had no school today. Parent-teacher conferences. So I'm happily eating up everyone's bandwidth by holing up in my room and listening to songs. Red Hat On Head (talk) 19:03, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bored?? Expand Jeewan Jyoti (1953 film)!♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 19:30, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OOOOOOH. Shammi's debut film! :D Though I really have to admit I prefer him in films after Tumsa Nahin Dekha. I think he's really handsome. :3 Red Hat On Head (talk) 19:34, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, wow. I just died of laughter. That DVD cover used his picture from Dil Deke Dekho. After he didn't have that silly moustache. AND his name in the film is Shashikala. Who is an actress. HAHAHAHAHA. Red Hat On Head (talk) 19:36, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re:hi there[edit]

Hi Sasha! How are you doing? First, it is very pleasurable to see younger people actively participating in editing wikipedia. Second, I must commend you for your command over the written English language.

Finally, old hindi films. Actually I have never thought about or felt if any particular films or actors are my favorites. I like many of the actors, depending on their roles in particular films. Regarding films, again, there are so many to chose from! I think it would have been better if some of the old films were re-released in theaters, as viewing of films in theaters is an altogether different experience compared to watching on tv or computer screens. I was blown away by the theatrical experience of watching Mughal-Azam when it was re-released a few years ago.

One genre that I like is comedy. And two hindi films ( although they are not old hindi films) I repeatedly watch are Golmaal ( the Utpal Dutta starter, not the forgettable recent series) and Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro. Have you watched them? Indeed among not-so-old Hindi movies, I like the movies by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Among Bengali films (my mother tongue) I repeatedly watch two films: Sare Chuattar and Galpa Holeo Satyi. That being said, I am very much into films, and like films of all genre and time!--Dwaipayan (talk) 04:26, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Always loved English, because my grandma read books with me when I was three. And I love writing, because I can make clones of my favorite actors! Hahahahahaha! (Even though it's a bad idea because then I never let them die.) But anyway. I like a lot of them. Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna (People can say what they will about him, but I think he's cute!), and Rajendra Kumar. And yeah, they did release Hum Dono after being colorized in cinemas, but it was in Indiaaaa! I need to move there! I was yelling out loud, "I WANT TO SEE IT, NOW NOW NOW NOW!" Sounded like a spoilt brat but I did want to see it! I didn't get to see Mughal-E-Azam in theatres, 'cause I was five and didn't really know, but I did see it at home in color. Madhubala was so beautiful! I want to hop into a time machine and go back to the 60's and watch films in cinemas. It's always fun having a bunch of film-crazy people in the same room as you. :D

As for comedy, I like Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, and Golmaal. I hate the new series, bleugh. Vulgar. Golmaal is so much fun and full of giggles. I haven't seen Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, but I've heard of it. Have you seen Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi? Kishore is so good at comedy. Have you seen any Dev Anand or Shammi Kapoor films? Red Hat On Head (talk) 20:39, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My halloween[edit]

My Halloween was kinda bad and kinda good. The bad thing was that I was hit by hurricane Sandy. It was aweful. The good thing was no school for a whole week because of the damage and loss of power. Another good thing was that while I had no power or heat in my house, I had to stay at my aunt's house two blocks away from me because she retrieved power. While I was there, (you know that I'm a gamer nerd), I got to play one of the greatest videogames, "Resident Evil 6 " the videogame. It was awesome. And I drank hot chocolate every day. It was so fun and I spent time with my cousins. I also got to play, "Dead Space 1". It was so scary! Perfect for Halloween. Resident evil- zombies. Dead space- mutant aliens and mutated people! It was sooooo scary! I couldn't go anywhere though. I couldn't even go trick or treating. It'll resume tomorrow though. So technically, my Halloween is tomorrow in New Jersey! DEIDRA C. (talk) 18:46, 4 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Aww, yeah, Sandy was awful. I was watching Doctor Who yesterday, blazed through four episodes in one night. And I was texting my friend all day long. Hope you have fun though! Red Hat On Head (talk) 21:06, 5 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I got my internet, phone service, and cable back! YAY! Thank goodness. I've been very bored on Wikipedia lately. Nothing I can edit without being squeled on. Do you know any articles? (Oh yeah. Thanks!) ALSO- Do you celebrate Halloween 'cause I know a lot of people who don't.- Best wishes!-DEIDRA C. (talk) 21:10, 5 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, awesome! Yeah, I do! I dressed up as an Indian princess. First Halloween. Candy fun! Red Hat On Head (talk) 21:41, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Deidra! Nope, nothing's wrong, I'm just kind of busy. I'm sad because I had to put one of my cats down (she had heart disease), and it's hard adjusting to life without her. And thanks for the Thanksgiving wishes! Hope you had a fun Thanksgiving - I did! Bread pudding's the best! :D Red Hat On Head (talk) 21:29, 26 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Happy new year[edit]

Sorry about the late celebration. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! I hope 2013 is better for you as well as Wikipedia and myself. 2012 was filled with psyco paths and crazy people, hopefully 2013 is filled with peace and love. I doubt that very much, but you know. Its a hope. Hope your holiday was good and kind to you. Hopefully all is well with your family and friends. You have SOOOO many "please comment" messages. Maybe you should consider to stop recieving them. They're pretty annoying and they swallow your page. You also haven't edited in a long time. Hope this is just a break and not a quit for Wiki. I got a ps3. If you have one that would be awesome. We could be friends. Also- thank you for the support during 2012 and I wish to give YOU support during 2013. RaidenRules! (talk) 19:21, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I know, hehe. I am around, I just poke around on the Net all day and don't edit much, but yes, I'm still around. I don't have a ps3 but I have a DS, although I'm going to have to get a 3DS for Pokemon X and Y. So excited for those! :) Red Hat On Head (talk) 22:25, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sasha![edit]

Hey Sasha! Just so you know, I responded on my talk page to your message a while ago. It's at User talk:Ryan Vesey/Archive 19#Hey Ryan! now. If you want, I can add the next test at the adoption program. On another note, there was earlier a discrepancy on Shammi Kapoor's page where some things said he was borned in Mumbai and others said he was born in Pakistan. It's been changed by various editors to remove Mumbai. Do you know which is accurate? Ryan Vesey 22:04, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, sure, that'd be great! Just a note, my finals are starting tomorrow, and I'm so so so nervous at Math. But I hope I'll do well! I don't really know where he was born, but the heck, someone went and rewrote some of the stuff that I wrote. Let me see. Raj Kapoor, who was Shammi Kapoor's older brother, was born in Mumbai, so yes, Shammi Kapoor was born in Mumbai. Where in the world did those editors get Pakistan from...? Red Hat On Head (talk) 22:29, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Are you able to find a reliable source? The one currently used says it is the Kapoor family homepage, but the site is possibly fake. Old versions of the page say Mumbai, so Pakistan was probably inserted by a couple of pro-Pakistan editors who want to claim Shammi Kapoor for themselves. Ryan Vesey 15:21, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It says Bombay right here! http://www.shammikapoor.net/bio.html And ooooh, lots of eye candy on that site. Right I'm going to go eye candy hunting. Basically my job is to 1) Watch the Shammi Kapoor page just because. and 2) Go eye candy hunting. Also today my Math final was over. I think I did reasonably well, most of it was multiple choice, and I applied the elimination method, so yeah. :D But heck, Shammi's just Shammi, really awesome and no one can claim him for themselves! :3 Red Hat On Head (talk) 22:07, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:24, 21 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You've been unsubscribed from the Feedback Request Service[edit]

Hi Red Hat On Head! You're receiving this notification because you were previously subscribed to the Feedback Request Service, but you haven't made any edits to the English Wikipedia in over three years.

In order to declutter the Feedback Request Service list, and to produce a greater chance of active users being randomly selected to receive invitations to contribute, you've been unsubscribed, along with all other users who have made no edits in three years or more.

You do not need to do anything about this - if you are happy to not receive Feedback Request Service messages, thank you very much for your contributions in the past, and this will be the last you hear from the service. If, however, you would like to resubscribe yourself, you can follow the below instructions to do so:

  1. Go to the Feedback Request Service page.
  2. Decide which categories are of interest to you, under the RfC and/or GA headings.
  3. Paste {{Frs user|Red Hat On Head|limit}} underneath the relevant heading(s), where limit is the maximum number of requests you wish to receive for that category per month.
  4. Publish the page.

If you've just come back after a wikibreak and are seeing this message, welcome back! You can follow the above instructions to re-activate your subscription. Likewise, if this is an alternate account, please consider subscribing your main account in much the same way.

Note that if you had a rename and left your old name subscribed to the FRS, you may be receiving this message on your new username's talk page still. If so, make sure your new account name is subscribed to the FRS, using the same procedure mentioned above.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the Feedback Request Service talk page, or on the Feedback Request Service bot's operator's talk page. Thank you! Message delivered to you with love by Yapperbot :) | Is this wrong? Contact my bot operator. | Sent at 19:39, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
