Hi Sims. I've started a review of Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 to see if it matches the GA criteria. My comments and suggestions will be placed here: Talk:Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008/GA1. You can ask me any questions you like; I'll help out where I can or point you in the right direction if I can't. Regards SilkTork *YES! 18:31, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

I have placed the article on hold for 7 days to allow you and the Eurovison Project time to expand and make improvements. Get in touch if you have any queries. Regards SilkTork *YES! 15:04, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi Sims, I've opened a reassessment on Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 as I feel there should be greater encyclopedic information (broad coverage) within the article. I don't think it would take much work to bring it up to scratch as all the information is already out there, some of it in place on Wikipedia. But it would be worth people doing the work as the article is used as an example of a "FOO in the Eurovision Song Contest YEAR" Good Article, and it would be worth giving people something reasonably comprehensive and worthwhile to work toward. SilkTork *YES! 13:34, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Sahsa Son announced at show "Dainu Daina" (Lithuanian national final) that hes song at ESC will be in English. Also it was confirmed at biggest Lithuanian news portals delfi.lt and alfa.lt. So stopped changing info about LT song in ESC 09 article. --Bearas (talk) 13:56, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Cyrillic and native spellings should not be included in the ESC table. The national script has nothing to do with Eurovision, since they are not written in their native scripts for Eurovision. Greekboy (talk) 19:58, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Alexander_Rybak_-_Fairytale.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Alexander_Rybak_-_Fairytale.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 22:07, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Maria Haukaas Storeng - Hold On Be Strong.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Maria Haukaas Storeng - Hold On Be Strong.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:53, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

File:Alexander Rybak - Fairytale.jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Alexander Rybak - Fairytale.jpg, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

lack of licensing information

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on [[Talk:File:Alexander Rybak - Fairytale.jpg|the article's talk page]] explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Hogne (talk) 11:34, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Et s'il fallait le faire.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Et s'il fallait le faire.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:06, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

GA re-assessment

Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 has been nominated for a good article reassessment. Please leave your comments and help us to return the article to good article quality. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, the good article status will be removed from the article. Reviewers' concerns are here.

Tables Eurovision voting

Hey, I noticed that there is a mistake in some tables you posted/edited in the different Eurovision topics. For example, in the topic: "Netherlands in the Eurovision". Your change to the table "Netherlands has received the the most points from..." resulted in the following: 1. Israel, 2. Belgium, = Ireland, 3. France, 4. Germany, 5. Spain.

It should be: 1. Israel, 2/3 Belgium, = Ireland, 4. France, 5. Germany, 6. Spain. Belgium and Ireland share the 2nd and 3rd place in this table, France stays on the 4th place as they are behind 3 other nations. The bronze colour shouldn't be used in this table as there is no 3rd place. Just as an example: in athletics, 2 runners who finish 2nd with the same time will both receive a silver medal, no bronze medal is handed out in such a case. Kralinger (talk) 13:50, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

I have concluded the reassessment and delisted the article from the Good Articles list. Reasons are at Talk:Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008/GA2. If you disagree with this decision please take it to WP:GAR. Thanks. Jezhotwells (talk) 14:13, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

Straw poll on reliable sources for Eurovision articles

The second RfC on sourcing for Eurovision articles has now being running for several weeks, you can view it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#RfC on reliable sources for Eurovision articles. In order to help gauge the spread of opinion and draw conclusions from this discussion a straw poll has been started at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#Straw poll. All project members are encouraged to read the RfC thoroughly and then cast their votes as they see fit. Rationales are still encouraged in the main discussion area above the poll, and participants can add appropriate new sources or options to the poll as they wish. Melodifestivalen 2010

Hello. I want you to stop edit this article, beacuase you are edit it bad. I want you to look for the best article, and stop with placing the "artist" column first. If you look at the other tables so it is first "song", then "authors" and then "artist", etc.. /Hollac16 (talk) 21:11, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi again. What I mean is the tables that was there before I add the column "semi-finals". In these column it should be song-authours-artist. But in the coulums under "semi-finals" it should be as you added. Sorry for my bad English, but I hope you understand. /Hollac16 (talk) 20:30, 30 November 2009 (UTC)

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Je ne sais quoi (song). We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Je ne sais quoi (song). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:13, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 21:16, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of OGAE Second Chance Contest 1996, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: OGAE Second Chance Contest 1994. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 17:41, 6 January 2011 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with File:Dora 2009.gif

Thanks for uploading File:Dora 2009.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Na inat

Hello to you. I have had to revert you for your restoration on ESC 2011 of the Bulgarian translation. The word inat has several similarly related meanings and to impart precisely your point, one needs to examine the context. Na meaning "on" or "in" renders the following word a noun and the best translation is "out of spite". Hi

Thanks, for the message, but no, I prefer the new version, it looks quiet better than X X, I hope you approve this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Donikanuhiu (talkcontribs) 16:07, 12 May 2011 (UTC)

Please Explain

In this edit, you replaced my version of the Finals voting table with your own in a completely different arrangement. Other than the fact that consensus agreed on removing the endashes, which I can understand, please explain why you replaced my entire table - which was 100% accurate, I did it twice and it took me over four hours watching the video while copying down the numbers - with a version that was later reported in the talk pages to have errors in it. I am having a hard time accepting this edit. CycloneGU (talk) 23:10, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

Hi. The reason I made the change in the Eurovision scoreboard was to order the table firstly by running order in the final, then by running order in each semi-final, which has been used in all Eurovision voting tables since semi-finals were introduced. I apologise for any errors I made in it, but I also spent considerable time creating the table in my sandbox. I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused. Sims2aholic8 (Michael) (talk) 23:16, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
I understand that is what you copied from. However, I made my version to account for the voting order in the finals. For instance, Russia presented its votes first. For obvious reasons, this is easier to follow particularly for someone choosing to view the broadcast at a later date (in fact, the 2010 edition is still available, I noticed it watching the 2011 replay). Also, because it uses the running order for presentation of votes, it seems more accurate. For the semifinals, we don't get to see the presentation, so there is no set rule, and we can put them next to each other thus; however, with the finals, the broadcast has a voting order, and that is what I followed. It makes more logical sense to me regardless of whatever something else says. I believe we have a choice for how to arrange our own tables.
Also, I copied your comment here. Per the notice on my talkpage, please keep discussion centered in one location. CycloneGU (talk) 23:25, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
In my opinion I believe there should be consistency between each year's contest, and that's why i rearranged the table into the previous order. The running order for the voting is situated on the page, so I only did what I felt was correct. Sims2aholic8 (Michael) (talk) 23:29, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
If consistency is the concern, I'd happily redo every single table we have for every single year for the final. Might take me a while, but I'd do it. I just believe presenting by vote presentation order in the final is a much better method of doing it, and if I have to volunteer to fix every year's table that way to achieve that, I'd do it. I do not know if your version of the table still has errors, but I've removed all the endashes from my table here, which was my own sandbox page for working on the table. All that would need to be done is colouring the X tiles (I think leaving the X is a good idea personally, but the colour helps) and it's done in a final version. CycloneGU (talk) 23:35, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
I have no issue with how the table is ordered, I was just following what was done before. If you like we can ask for a more general consensus on what way to order it at the Eurovision WikiProject, which I do not believe you are a member of so you may not know about. Sims2aholic8 (Michael) (talk) 23:44, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
Duly noted, I did not know about it. Thanks for the tip, heading there. CycloneGU (talk) 23:50, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

In case you didn't see it, I've posted a bit there. Your input would be welcome as to a precedent for future years. CycloneGU (talk) 00:37, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

File:Junior Eurovision Participants.svg

Hi Sims,

Just a quick note to see if Andorra should now be changed to grey on the file JESC participation map? Now that Andorra have quit the EBU, they are no longer eligible to enter JESC, and therefore shouldn't really be coloured in yellow, which depicts a nation who had never entered but is eligible to do so. Poland withdrawal saga at Eurovision Song Contest 2012

Hi Sims, I thought that Poland wasn't going to be included as fully withdrawn yet (see ongoing discussion at Talk:Eurovision_Song_Contest_2012#Polish_withdrawal). There are too many conflicting articles going around the web, that there is nothing solid enough to state a full withdrawal of Poland in 2012. Apparently, TVP announced a withdrawal on Facebook - yet that piece of information isn't to be found on Facebook whatsoever. Then Oikotimes report (citing themselves as the original source) that TVP have exclusively told them that Poland are withdrawing - strangely, ESCToday also report (again they cite themselves as original source) that THEY were told exclusively by TVP, about the withdrawal. However, there is nothing on TVP's official website about this "official announcement" of a withdrawal, nor have the EBU reported this news - which we all know they are pretty quick at confirming details. Therefore, is it wise to include details of a Polish withdrawal when there are no solid sources to confirm it? Wesley Mouse (talk) 19:39, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi Sims, I've replied to your response on my talk Page. Thanks - Wesley Mouse (talk) 21:15, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
