Nikolai Udianskyi

Please have a look at Draft:Nikolai Udianskyi. I've cut out a lot of the fluff. Is this better? Thank you. --Perohanych (talk) 20:38, 20 April 2020 (UTC)

Hi, Sulfurboy!

For Draft:Nikolai Udianskyi there is significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. They are mentioned in "External links" section

Alas, they are in Russian:

  • "Удянский Николай — досьє" (in Russian). Левый берег. Retrieved 2020-04-16.

And in Ukrainian:

Please let me know at least one sentence in the draft article, which appears to read more like an advertisement and is not written from a neutral point of view?

Please let me know any from 14 diffetent references that are not independent or reliable?

I hope that after careful cosideration you will change your mind. --Perohanych (talk) 12:37, 21 April 2020 (UTC)

@Sulfurboy: --Perohanych (talk) 09:46, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Hi I have few questions

Hello Sulfurboy,

I wanted to know what is exactly secondary source I did check what it is but.. Online publications, someones blog, or just online magazine ? is notable secondary source? Also What if this secondary source language is different than English?

P.S You must love chemistry very much to put Sulfur as your Nickname.

Best, Maka

Sources do not have to be in English. Secondary means any source that isn't made by the subject or someone directly associated with the subject. You also want to make sure sources are reliable. Please see WP:RS.

Draft:Awakening Events

I do believe this company (Draft:Awakening Events) is notable. I added several Billboard references.

Update: I was able to add additional information about venues and cited media coverage on exclusive concert deal with Awakening Events and the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau.

None of your added sources establish notability. You need to show WP:SIGCOV in multiple independent and reliable sources. Sulfurboy (talk) 13:21, 21 April 2020 (UTC)

Draft:Roller picker Submission declined not adequately supported by reliable sources

Hi Sulfurboy,

My submission has been declined twice with the reason of unreliable source, whilst in the reference section there are links to both festo.com and siemens.com. Whom are 2 of the biggest company's in the industry. I don't see why these are unreliable?

Further more, one of the reasons I want to make this page is that there's almost no information about this anywhere online.

I could link some old schoolbooks in the reference section but I highly doubt you will be able to double check those.

Best regards,

Liam H.

Hi Sulfurboy, the making of the sandbox was just my 10th edit on en-WP, so I wrote it again in the Namespace. I just made some edits in other WPs, mainly the german one: [1]. Thx for your message. -Big Virgil (talk) 16:28, 20 April 2020 (UTC)

Big Virgil, Virgil. In its current form, this article fully fails our notability guidelines for professors WP:PROF and WP:GNG as such I have moved it back to draftspace. I get that you have edited on the German wiki, but please take the time to review our processes (particularly on how drafts should be moved to mainspace) and notability guidelines before creating more articles. Sulfurboy (talk) 16:36, 20 April 2020 (UTC)

All I can say is "what?" for this one. The result of the discussion was clearly merge. I would ask you to please rescind your NAC for this one and allow an admin to do it. At the very least it should be relisted, not closed as keep.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 13:39, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

Zxcvbnm, After the addition of the sources consensus was clearly trending for keep (with mild calls for merge). Final total keeps outweighed the outright merge calls with a lot of k or m that were fine either way. I would recommend proposing the article be merged (what should have probably been done in the first place) if you see fit. Cheers. Sulfurboy (talk) 13:50, 27 April 2020 (UTC)
@Sulfurboy: Well I have listed it at deletion review. It's more on principle even though I know it can be merged outside of AfD. This was simply not the way to do it.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 14:33, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

Draft review: P J Livesey

Hi Sulfurboy, I hope you are well and enjoying home living in the lockdown.

Thank you for looking at my post so quickly. The P J Livesey Group

Just replying to your message as requested, before making any further changes. I am a member of the company. I work there as a Graphic/Web Designer however I thought I had declared that I had a conflict of interest on my user page (by using the code the Wizard set up asked me to). I am not specifically being paid to set up this page, I was trying to see if I could do it before informing them as I heard it was complicated to do. If this is still classed as being paid for it indirectly, I don’t mind declaring it by adding the code you have given.

Before I do that though, would this mean that it would get another look? After I make some further amends obviously - referring to your other comments - or would I then need to send off to the 'articles for creation' instead? It is my first time on here, so I am sorry if I’m wasting your time. I tried to follow as many articles as I could but there are ALOT of them to read. Thank you again for your time. Kind regards LadyAl (talk) 16:45, 21 April 2020 (UTC)

LadyAl, If you are an employee of the company then you are a paid editor and need to properly disclose per the message on your talk page. This is distinctly different than just editing with a COI. You article is already in the AfC process, it does not need to send off somewhere. The instructions for resubmitting are already outlined in the decline message. In fact there's a brightly colored blue button that says "resubmit". Please take the time to read over our instructions and linked policies. Sulfurboy (talk) 16:52, 21 April 2020 (UTC)

Draft: Pablo Starr

Hi Sulfurboy:

Hope you're well.

Referencing:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Pablo_Starr

Sources include Cosmopolitan, the Associated Press, as well as Publishers Weekly and Kirkus (these being the world's two foremost book review trade publications) -- as well as newspapers.

Can you please clarify which sources might be more reliable?

I believe this article is factual and neutral. If not, perhaps you can supply instances of where this can be improved?

Hope you're doing well. Thanks.

Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Karim Tarek

I posted the facebook page of the article's subject. It is not doxing to post the facebook profile of a subject of an article. Being the subject of a wikipedia article means that if they have a public profile on facebook, it can be linked to their article, or used to discuss that article, and does not fall under the harassment policy. Harassment covers only editors, not subjects of articles. Plz reinstate the link. MistyGraceWhite (talk) 18:49, 21 April 2020 (UTC)

MistyGraceWhite, Absolutely not. It is not a public profile page. You linked to a personal account. The easiest way to tell the difference is if you can add someones profile as a friend, then it's a personal account and not a public one. You also stated that page creator is likely the subject which means you are harassing a potential editor. Sulfurboy (talk) 18:56, 21 April 2020 (UTC)

User:Dr. Todd Hanna

Good Afternoon,

My name is Elory and I was attempting to make a wikipedia page for my employer. The page I am referencing has since been deleted. You denied me because I tried to publish the page under 2 different accounts and you called it vanity self promotion. I am very sorry about this. My goal was simply to make a wikipedia page for him based on his website. I had two different accounts because I had my personal account as well as a work account I created to write this article and this is my first time creating an article here. Do you have any suggestions for how I can proceed and create an wikipedia page for my boss? The information I used was not inteded to be promotional. It was factual information about his education and cuurent practice.

Thank you so much for taking the time to edit my article and for your quick reply. I hope you are staying well!

Need help with my page

Hello,

I need some help. Tried creating a page for the term 'Digital companion' and thought I needed my username to be 'Digital companion' as well. Then, I got a message that the page has a potential conflict of interest. I work for a company that creates digital companions (my company's name was included in my user email, perhaps this was an issue as well?), but I wrote this article about an industry term, not a company, and in a way that was as un-biased as possible, and mentioned numerous other companies in this industry (and did not mention my company's name specifically). I want to know what I can do to get the page published - do I need to create a new user, and start over? Do I need to disclose conflict of interest, even though I am not profiting off of this article in any way? Some help would be greatly appreciated, as I put a lot of effort already into writing and creating the page, and I was unaware that I would have issues due to either my user name or the fact that I work in the industry of the term of the page I'm trying to create.

REF: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Transmission_Dynamics

Hi Sulfurboy.

Thanks for the reviews. Which part of notability are you objecting to? Significance of coverage, reliability, or independance (or some combination)?

Help appreciated. I feel that the company is noteworthy from a factual point of view and it's existence and track record of awards are publically relevant and deserving of note in an encyclopedia, in much the same way very large companies do. As an example, at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Dutch_Shell , ref 12 (the only reference linking Shell's activities in the Hydrogen space) is from a source which mentions Shell only in passing, is clearly not fully independant, and being from LinkedIn I would question its reliability. I don't bring this up to discredit or attack the article, author, reviewer, etc., just to demonstrate that when writing this I have taken inspiration from other "approved" posts for companies and I'm not sure which part of notability this reference passes but some (or all) of the references I cited does not.

Your time, given graciously and freely, is appreciated.

Marc Sheridan 220420 MarcSheridan (talk) 16:54, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

MarcSheridan, There is zero WP:SIGCOV shown in the article and the subject fully fails the rigorous requirements of WP:NCORP. It is incredibly unlikely this subject currently passes our notability guidelines. Sulfurboy (talk) 17:04, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

WP:BOMBARD

Hey Sulfurboy,

Thanks for the comment about Draft:Pilar Corrias Gallery.

First, I have to admit that I am a newbie at Wikipedia specifically and at social media posting in general. I don't understand most of what goes on behind the scenes or how things work. If I make any unconscious mistakes, please be patient.

I understood from comments by another editor that I needed references that proved each of the artists had had a show at this gallery. So, I went to a lot of trouble finding at least one article for each artist. As far as I can understand from your comment, we have three choices: (1) delete all of the references to artists, leaving four solid references about the gallery; (2) leave all of the references in place, because they (most of them) give dates and reviews of the exhibitions at this gallery; (3) delete the whole Artists section. Please advise.

As far as notability goes, this article follows a format similar to dozens of other Wikipedia articles about galleries. This gallery is notable because it is one of the few in the world that shows more female artists than male artists, and it has consistently featured the work of unknown, often minority, artists.

Finally, one editor accused me of improper activity, "a dog in the fight" as he/she phrased it. I don't understand the basis for that accusation. I am receiving no compensation from the gallery. I have never visited it, although I have been in contact with gallery personnel to gather information.

I appreciate your help and look forward to your reply. Moleppa (talk) 17:17, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Moleppa, Many of the sources you post next to the artist don't confirm in those references that the person at work exhibited at the gallery. I opened four and only one actually confirmed it. I didn't make any comment on the notability of the subject or your potential for COI. You would need to take that up with the editors who spoke to you about that. Also, please note that Wikipedia is not "social media". We are formal encyclopedia with the goal of providing unbiased and reliable information. If you don't understand what goes on "behind the scenes", then I would recommend you learn to walk before you run. I always suggest that new editors should contribute and improve already existing article. Creating new articles is one of the most difficult tasks on this site. Many editors go months, even years, before creating their first article. Sulfurboy (talk) 17:32, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Vandermaas

Greetings,

I'm new to editing and creating wikipedia pages. You recently reviewed and edited the one I made. Just wanted to respond to some of the critques, comments, etc.

I think the candidate is notable. Just because he hasn't won yet shouldn't mean that he shouldn't have a wiki right? It's a federal race and important nonetheless as he's newsworthy where he is running.

As to the relationship, I mentioned on my user info page I work for the campaign but this wikipedia page was edited on my own without compensation for the time or effort doing it. I just wanted him to have a wiki page like his primary opponent.

Thank you for helping me out with my first wiki page!!!

Best,

gp — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gpwolfe (talkcontribs) 19:22, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Gpwolfe, if you work for his campaign then you have an indirect financial stake, and as such you need to cease editing until you properly disclose per the instructions already provided on your talk page. The article has been rejected which means it will not be considered further. Candidates for office, even federal office are not typically considered notable except for rare instances which your client does not currently meet. Sulfurboy (talk) 19:26, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

I have gone ahead and done so. As a quick aside, if he wins the primary will the page be up for consideration again?

Thank you,

Gpwolfe, No. Sulfurboy (talk) 19:45, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

WP:BOMBARD again

Thanks, Sulfurboy, for your answer regarding Draft:Pilar Corrias Gallery. Just another question.

Please give me your opinion about the following pages as references about the artists. They are obviously based on press releases, so I avoided them before. On the other hand, they are from reputable sources who edit and evaluate their content, and they contain dates and the venue. https://contemporaryartdaily.com/2013/11/keren-cyter-at-pilar-corrias / -- scroll down https://wsimag.com/art/14936-koo-jeong-a-annual-journey

If I found better references and inserted them in the article with the other appropriate references, would that trigger the WP:BOMBARD warning?

Again, thanks for the helpful feedback. Moleppa (talk) 21:03, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Moleppa, Press release can't be used to demonstrate notability. The can be used to source information, but it's highly preferred to find a secondary source. Also there's no such thing as a bombard warning. That was mostly to serve as a note for other reviewers. Sulfurboy (talk) 21:05, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

WP:NORG

re your comment on my talk; clearly the restrictions have been stricter since I was active around here. I'm happy to have it moved to a subpage in my user space or the draft space, I don't think it's a particularly relevant organization, but it being invited to roundtables and consultations by the UK government suggest some notability at least. Sam Vimes 21:56, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Sam Vimes, They have, I just came back myself from an extended break a couple of months ago. The notability restrictions on companies/orgs was heightened due to a flood of overly promotional and advert like submissions and pages. That's obviously not the case with your page, however, it doesn't meet the notability guidelines as it currently stands. If you can find some reliable, secondary coverage of the subject though then it can go back. Sulfurboy (talk) 22:00, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Draft: Alex Stitt (therapist)

Thank you for your comments! I thought including the citations where the subject or their ideas are mentioned would be sufficient, but would it also help to include notable quotes in the reference? For example, the American Counseling Association in their Affirmative Counseling manual cites Stitt as the sole example of Third-wave therapy for LGBT populations: “Third-wave cognitive therapies based on mindfulness, such as acceptance and commitment therapy, can help deepen the ability of queer-identified clients to be more present oriented and confident in negotiating their values across the full spectrum of social contexts (Stitt, 2014).”

Here is a link to Research Gate showing where others have cited their 2014 article: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/271937635_The_Cat_and_the_Cloud_ACT_for_LGBT_Locus_of_Control_Responsibility_and_Acceptance — Preceding unsigned comment added by Literary Art Historian (talkcontribs) 22:37, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Literary Art Historian, Eight citations on one journal article is nowhere near enough to meet any notability standard we have. We have academics with hundreds of cites that have failed notability guidelines. I would take the time to read our notability guidelines before submitting again. It's very likely the subject isn't notable at this time. Sulfurboy (talk) 22:44, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Hallo, under the edit summary of "cleaning up" you labelled him as "living person" although he died in 1798.

Do you know the useful shortcut {{L}}? It's the fastest way to add birth/death cats &/or "living person" and also the DEFAULTSORT: here is was {{subst:L|1725|1798|Milbanke, Ralph}}. It gets a lot of value per keystroke. When dates aren't known leave them blank, or add "missing" or "unknown" death date to prevent someone clearly dead being labelled as living.

I don't know how much checking is expected at AfC, but the article was at an incorrect title (per WP:BARONET) and also claimed that he held the post of High Sheriff before he was born (that was his father). Fixed now, I think, with added links to his constituencies. Thanks. PamD 23:06, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

PamD, Hmm, I'm not sure how the living person cat got added. That's typically only added if we select him as living when it's accepted out of AfC, but if that happened there would have been a BLP message on the talk page, either way it was a script hiccup or some sort of misclick. And no, I wasn't aware the MOS standard around Baronets, I'll try to remember that for next time. Thanks for fixing it. Sulfurboy (talk) 23:24, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Hi there, very new to this stuff, so I apologize if I'm missing things - I've read a lot of the stuff here, but there's a lot. I've updated the page with a 2 sources outside of the network that are similar to citations used for USA top chef seasons (I think this may have been this issue for notability - as the links are now not from foodnetwork canada). I'm trying to understand there are red words near the citations at the bottom that say title missing. I've googled to see what this could mean/how to fix it - but I'm not having luck. Any instruction on this would be welcome, I'm really only trying to help by getting a page up for this show and it's fans!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Top_Chef_Canada_(Season_8)

I've fixed the issue with the sources. And yes, for seasons of television shows, we need to see secondary coverage of the subject. Primary sources will almost never be enough to demonstrate notability for any wiki article. I've approve the article. Sulfurboy (talk) 23:35, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

I have only independent news outlets that are independent. Alternatively, are there any sources that you deem inappropriate that I can remove? Thanks. I sent this to User:Nnadigoodluck, but he did not respond or help me out and deleted the page: I believe Gulf News, The National (Abu Dhabi, Entrepreneur (magazine), Crunchbase, and TechCrunch are all independent reliable sources... Nnadigoodluck What is an UPE. I tried to create it first normally, and then went through article wizard so that other users can help me to create the article - all you have done is be super negative, not offered any advice whatsoever, and dismiss any of my comments. I have tried to create the page with the fairest sources (all newspapers) where the firm at hand is the main subject. I am not sure you have even looked at the sources to be honest... If you search up the firm, you'll see a lot of media coverage on it - its not an obscure firm. I already told you that ive written articles on another platform about other firms in the finance industry in the middle east and that its my first time trying to create an article on wikipedia but have not received any guidance or help - only unfair comments.— Preceding unsigned comment added by WhartonUndergrad (talkcontribs) 08:54, 23 April 2020 (UTC)

Draft:Elbert S. McCuskey

Hello, a week ago you reviewed and rejected one of the articles I wrote: Draft:Elbert S. McCuskey. It was first rejected because there was only a single source and because it was "too detailed" (according to the previous reviewer's comment). I then added several more well established and respected history sources dealing with the topic, and I considerably rewrote the article to account for the second complaint and make it as neutral as possible. Then I re-submitted for another review and you rejected it still (without further comments). Could you please let me know specifically what remains the problem? Path-x21 (talk) 18:18, 23 April 2020 (UTC)

Path-x21, I would recommend reading the provided links on notability that are provided in the decline messages. Also, the three subject specific sources you do provide do not list page numbers in their cites, you just reference entire books that are hundreds of pages, making verification impossible. Hey Sulfurboy,

I'm messaging regarding PTZOptics draft. I am an employee of the company but I was not the writer of the article - I'm posting what someone hired to create a wikipedia page wrote a while back, then never submitted and were subsequently fired. I will make an admission of employment with my company as requested and work on it until it no longer reads as an advertisement. I do think this business has good reason to be featured in an encyclopedia for their advancement in live streaming technology, including the first to incorporate a 4k sensor in a USB webcam.

If any of this is an issue, please let me know.

I thank you so much for your time.

Teri Mitti is an article about a video and a song released on 24 april 2020. It is inspired by a song of the same name from the 2019 film Kesari. Your statement at the deletion discussion and subsequent edits on the article give the impression that you may have mixed up the two while searching for sources. So I talked to his agent and he told me that IMDB and videodetective is usually good enough for approval. So is it good enough secondary source? IMDB is acting credit website... and here is the link https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4746638/?ref_=nm_knf_t1 https://www.imdb.com/name/nm10718127/?ref_=nmbio_bio_nm https://pro.imdb.com/name/nm10718127/about Also if I will scan interview on different language from magazine should I put link? is it good enough?

MAKANYC, I can ensure you Wikipedia does not care at all what someone's agent says. Not to mention, they are wrong, imdb is not a reliable source and never demonstrates notability. You also need to properly disclose your paid editing. Sulfurboy (talk) 00:23, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

TechNews.LK

Hi, I'm the person who wrote the article TechNews.LK and it's been scheduled for deletion. In the review comments, you have noted that the award websites are blackhat SEO sites. I understand that you do not have a way to check the authenticity of the websites even they are (one from Sri Lankan government, .LK Domain Registry itself, and the second one is one of the major telecommunication providers in Sri Lanka) credible sources.

I have just added the video clips of respective events and can you kindly check it again if it's acceptable. Or if you can provide any advice on this will be appreciated very much. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Truekasun (talkcontribs) 11:23, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

Draft:Sebastian Deffner

Hi Sulfurboy,

you said that an article with a declared COI needs to be approved out of AfC, however, There was no declared COI for the page "Sebastian Deffner", the COI declaration on my page was there from the when I created my account and my first page, it was related to no articles and I just removed it since it was pointless.

Sorry for the two consecutive messages but I forgot the title in the first reply — Preceding unsigned comment added by Omar Almazruei (talkcontribs) 11:41, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

The page submissions for Draft: Awakening Events has been denied multiple times. I respectfully disagree regarding your comment about how Awakening Events' clients are notable, but not the company itself. In my perspective, given this company has been listed in the Pollstar Top 50 List of Global Concert Promoters (along with AEG Presents, Live Nation, and others who all have pages), I do believe it is notable. The annual revenue above is $20M, as confirmed by multiple Pollstar and Billboard refrences. I am adding additional references but have included multiple that are directly talking about Awakening Events, not just mentions. I would kindly appreciate another review, because I do believe it qualifies to be a page on Wikipedia. The article has been rejected which means it will not be considered further. Pointing out their revenue numbers or their inclusion in some top 50 list shows that it's likely you didn't even take the time to read our notability guidelines, so even if we did think there was even a remote chance of this company being notable, it's unlikely that real improvement would be made. Your submission at Daniel Lewis (athlete) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Daniel_Lewis_(athlete)

Hi, not sure if I linked it to my submission correctly. I am writing regarding the Wiki page creation for Daniel Lewis (athlete). Please see a newspaper article and an independent listing on the England Athletics website (the highest athletics governing body in England) outlining his elite nature as an athlete and notable person. http://results.glasgow2014.com/athlete/cycling_road/1099947/daniel_lewis.html https://www.englandathletics.org/athletics-and-running/news/teams-announced-for-indoor-competitions-at-bratislava-and-vienna-2016/

Furthermore, I believe the page meets this requirement outlined in the "guidelines for sports persons and athletes" page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(sports)) with rule no.2 stating: "Athletes who compete in the field of athletics are presumed notable if they meet any of the criteria below... 2. Finished top 8 in a competition at the highest level outside of the Olympic Games and world championships. Individual events in these championships must contain either several heats or extended fields (e.g., European Athletics Championships, Commonwealth Games, or any of the 6 World Major Marathons)."

Please note there is clear evidence that Mr. Lewis finished within the top 8 at the Commonwealth Games.

Please let me know if there is anything more I can do.

Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Global247 (talkcontribs) 22:41, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

Global247, Hi, what is your connection to the subject? Your verbage and tone make it seems as if you are being paid to write the article. Do you represent the subject? Sulfurboy (talk) 13:37, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

Hi Sulfurboy, thanks for the quick reply! I am the sister of Daniel Lewis, I don't get any financial gain from this and do not represent him. I read up on the rules and don't see anything against this but correct me if I'm wrong. I just thought it would make sense to make a page as I have had a lot of schools, organisations and individuals ask information on him and with a common name it is easy to stumble on the wrong Daniel Lewis through a Google search. After reading over the guidelines I think he deserves and qualifies to be on wikipedia as a notable person and all the other competitors in the Commonwealth games final also have wiki pages. If this is incorrect and the page should not be created then please let me know — Preceding unsigned comment added by Global247 (talkcontribs) 16:07, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

How can I create this article?

Dear Sulfurboy,

I just received the message about article creation. It says I may need to find someone else to submit the Wikipedia article about myself.

So do I need to talk with the people in the list

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notable_people_who_have_edited_Wikipedia

or just find someone else without any other requirement? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zzjhaas (talkcontribs) 01:12, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

Zzjhaas, No, that list is just Wikipedians who have articles about themselves, not necessarily a list of people who are willing to help with an autobiography. For policies surrounding autobiographies, please consult Wikipedia:Autobiography Sulfurboy (talk) 01:19, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

How can I create an autobiography article to someone else

Dear Sulfurboy,

Hi, I'm a student under the advice of Prof. Zygmunt Haas,

My name is Zijing Tian.

Since creating an autobiography article to a person himself is discouraged, my advisor asks me to write this article and post it to Wikipedia.

I want to ask the following two questions:

1. How can I submit the article about Prof. Zygmunt Haas which is written by me? 2. What will happen about his existing submission of the article which is under reviewing?

Many thanks!

Zijing — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tianzj890107 (talkcontribs) 01:37, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

Tianzj890107, Writing about your professor would be just as ill advised. See WP:COI. As already pointed out, if this subject is in fact notable someone will write about them eventually. Article ideas can also be suggested at Wikipedia:Requested_articles Sulfurboy (talk) 01:41, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

Dear Sulfurboy,

Thank you for your response, I guess you suggest me don't do anything currently until someone takes care of this article review, am I right?

Since we already wrote a draft about my advisor's autobiography article, as you said, "if this subject is in fact notable someone will write about them eventually", will this editor accept our draft as the article contents?

Best wishes!

Dear Sulfurboy,

I have made the changes to the article and made the content a lot more neutral. I have removed anything that feels like is an opinion and kept it as factual as possible. I have cleaned up the sources and pictures. In addition, i have added content to show the notability of the subject(individual).

Regards and thank you for your kind attention.

Hey Sulfurboy, I've just seen that my article about the "Varieties of Democracy Institute (V-Dem)" got rejected again. I thought that I solved the problem of lacking prove for significant coverage by citing articles by bigger newspapers and important scientific journals about the Varieties of Democracy Institute. It is the state-of-the-art dataset for political scientists who do comparative politics. I do not know how to prove significant coverage without adding subjective comments. Maybe you can give me a hint on how to improve the article. Thank you very much!

Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Varieties_of_Democracy_(V-Dem)_Institute

V-Dem was recently added to this page https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_freedom_indices&oldid=947296829 but the edit got rejected because a Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) page doesn't exist yet.

Looking forward to hearing from you! Kind regards, Brainvillage

Article Denial of Dennis Haugen

Hey Sulfurboy,

I noticed you denied my article, Draft:Dennis Haugen, and stated that it was due to the article not demonstrating the notability requirements necessary for the article to be published. Looking through the notability requirements, it is clear that Haugen does demonstrably meet the requirements of notability. Articles written by major publications such as Kotaku and IGN clearly show that he is notable in his field of speedrunning. Articles have been written about Haugen since 2014, showing that he is notable in this field for a length duration of time. IGN even notes how dominant he has been in securing his world record for the past seven years, and how he continues to make innovations in bringing the time down further and further. As an entertainer, he has amassed a significant following, exceeding 90,000 followers on twitch, and continues to amass more of a following as he continues to demonstrate his prowess in speedrunning. As a result of being the subject of major publications, and having a significant following as an entertainer, which a criterion for an entertainer, I am of the opinion, although I may be slightly biased, that Haugen is fit to have an article on Wikipedia, and there is more than enough sources detailing Haugen that meet the standards necessary for the inclusion of Haugen into an article. If you feel that the article in its current state requires additional sources beyond the 11 provided, I will continue to add additional sources and verification of Haugen's status as a person of notability. The article may be a stub in its current state, however, I feel as if the article being published may encourage additional information to added to article, and I will continue to add information and update the article as new information arises, especially considering Haugen is nearing the attainment of another world record in the coming times.

Thanks in advance for reading,

Blader — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrMcblader (talkcontribs) 03:07, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

MrMcblader, I would advise continuing to add more sources to demonstrate notability per our guidelines. The problem with the majority of your sources if they have a very specific audience. The IGN article from what i can see doesn't even really talk about the subject. Maybe you posted the wrong one? Sulfurboy (talk) 13:35, 27 April 2020 (UTC)

Creating autobiography article

Dear Sulfurboy,

As we understand, after we submit our edit of professor's autobiography, someone else will help with creating this article.

So how can I contact this editor who will edit our autobiography article?

And if anyone could be this editor, can I take care of my professor's autobiography article?

YOUR COMMENT WAS : social media and video hosting sites aren't typically considered reliable sources BUT YOU MAKE A MISTAKE BECAUSE ACCORDING TO Wikipedia:Reliable sources The term "published" is most commonly associated with text materials, either in traditional printed format or online; however, audio, video, and multimedia materials that have been recorded then broadcast, distributed, or archived by a reputable party may also meet the necessary criteria to be considered reliable sources.

THE SOURCES FROM THIS VIDEOS HOSTING SITES ARE RELIABLE BECAUSE THEY ARE ACCREDITED SOURCES, VICEPRECIDENCY OF THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, ONE YOUNG WORLD, IT WWAS NOT A PERSONAL ACCOUNT.... YOU NEED TO RECHECK THE INFORMATION IN THE VIDEO AND THE SOURCE BECAUSE ACCORDING TO WIKIPEDIA I CAN PRESENT VIDEOS IF THEY COME FROM A RELIABLE SOURCE...
