Re Editing on Wikipedia

Hi Supdiop, I'm quite happy to help you with editing....but it's pointless to just keep trying to force the changes you want. While anyone can edit Wikipedia, we are trying to maintain an encyclopaedic standard, so there are rules. I have responded to your comments on the talk page. btw, I watched some of the video, and even note in the comments people are stating the views in the video don't represent the group, that they are unscientific etc. This is one reason why sources have to be reliable. @Supdiop: It could just be a language thing...but what you just wrote makes it sound like you were intentionally inserting information into an encyclopaedic article that you knew to be false ("was not representing the true beliefs of the BKs"). Supdiop, Wikipedia has rules for editing. Otherwise it wouldn't be an encyclopaedia - it would be a blog, or a newspaper etc which have a much lower standard of verifiability. If you just keep editing without meeting the required standards, it's hard to understand that you are here to genuinely contribute to Wikipedia. It may even appear you are here just to use up the time of the volunteers who make Wikipedia work, in which case as per the comments here, you may eventually get blocked. I would really encourage you to understand the editing rules and guidelines and participate in building a high quality online resource - you might really enjoy it :-). Channeltivity

You tagged this article for speedy deletion very quickly after its creation, which is generally considered somewhat bitey. (I say this from personal experience, having been the biter in my own past editing and having learned from other, more patient editors). I generally allow 15 or 20 minutes at least before tagging an empty article, as the editor (usually a new editor) may be working through the whole article creation process. Speedy Deletion Tag

Wow. I am in the process of writing this article. I tagged it with "Stub" clearly indicating it is not done. Then you tagged it for deletion seven minutes after I first posted it.

On the assumption you are a "Good Faith" Wikipedian, and not a troll, let me advise you to please slow down. Let people have a chance to complete their work before pointing out how it is incomplete. It hurts no one to give them time to clean up their articles.

Nor is it bad to post an incomplete article. I have done that on purpose. It is amazing how often other authors will quickly add material, making my initial posting a group effort, and completing it better than I ever could.

Shevi'i shel Pesach

Well, you promised a couple of items ago not to be so fast ... but this article got tagged about three minutes after I created it.

I created a placeholder solely for the purpose of establishing the Wikidata connection to the topic. The topic is notable; while it does not have its own article in this Wikipedia, it has full articles in French, Hebrew and Yiddish. And it does have a section of an article here (see Passover#Seventh day of Passover). Right now, Wikidata is not capable of including sections of articles in most cases, so one has to link to a redirect. But Wikidata is also not capable of linking to an active redirect, so you have to establish a placeholder first, create the Wikidata link, and then activate the redirect. It takes about five minutes.

It's good for you to be enthusiastic. It's not good for you to have been here less than two months and to act like you own the place. OK? StevenJ81 (talk) 20:32, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

Actually ... not OK.

To elaborate: in principle, yes OK. If an article has been sitting there without any sources or context, your action would be entirely appropriate. But the discussion with WikiDan61 just above is relevant here, too. When the article has been there only three minutes, the author—me, or anyone else—is entitled to at least a little bit of latitude to finish his work.

Look, you must have known that the article was only three minutes old, because you have to have been monitoring new pages. And as far as it goes, my edit summary said "Placeholder", which certainly suggests I was planning to be back shortly.

I absolutely am not telling you that you should not help Wikipedia because you're new. But what I am telling you is that there are ways to do that which are widely considered polite, and other ways to do that which are widely considered rude and disruptive. And what you did was the latter.

I strongly welcome you, and encourage you to participate. But please try to do that politely, and please try to give people at least a few minutes to finish doing what they plan to do.

(Concerning new page patrol: consider patrolling from oldest to newest, not newest to oldest. Unless it is actually vandalism or a WP:BLP violation, letting a new article simmer for a few days is almost always a safe thing to do.) StevenJ81 (talk) 02:42, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

I'll accept that. I trust that you will address the new complaints below in the same spirit.

I'd also recommend looking a little further at the policy on vandalism. Even something like the one sentence I temporarily parked at Shevi'i shel Pesach wasn't vandalism per se. It might have been superficial, trivial, and unsourced, and if I had left it there like that for a day it might have been worthy of deletion on a variety of grounds. But the sentence did have on-topic content, superficial as it was, so the presumption should not have been one of vandalism.

Pretty much the only justifiable reason to pull the trigger in less than about a day or two on a speedy delete request where the page contains only apparently legitimate, on-topic content, even unsourced, is where the "Biographies of Living Persons" policy comes into play. And even there, if the information feels remotely legitimate, you should give the author (or others) at least a few hours to get some work done.

AfD withdrawing

Once an AfD is submitted (except for a very short time after) it becomes difficult to just blank the entries. All sorts of Bots get excited. If you want to withdraw the nomination - which I think is what you intend - just say so on the nomination page. I used Google translate to know what language it was. Yeah it could be Tulu but it could also happen if the author didn't write Kannada properly. I always set google translation setting as 'detect language'. It showed the language was Kannada and then I changed tag to Kannada language. I think it is Kannada because author is likely to use Kannada keyboard because Tulu keyboard is rare or not available. Supdiop talk 14:50, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

Tulu won't have its own keyboard because it uses the Kannada script (apart from in some monasteries who won't do much typing, probably...). Google would pick Kannada, because of the script and the presence of loan words. If you look at one sign in a town, and see that it says 'Parking' - are you in England or France? Or another one that says 'Garage' - where then? Parking is an English word, but it's used in France. Garage is French, but is used in England. Googling for sections of the text (without using quote marks) only comes up with this article - apart from about three words that appear in Kannada text hits. Kannada is a literary language - Tulu doesn't seem to be. It doesn't even have a Wikipedia, unlike Marshallese, Pontic and Norfolk. Peridon (talk) 15:16, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

@Peridon: Yes you are correct. It is not Kannada. I just looked at the edit history of the author and he was editing Tulu Wikipedia and even the translation of article text has Tulu word in it. No problems. I'd never heard of Tulu before this - but I tend to be an instant expert (that's a polite way of saying 'bloody nuisance'...). That's part of what Wikipedia is for - enabling people to be instant experts. (The other part is keeping those of us who work on it from getting bored.) Treat things like this as a detective job - get evidence that will help to produce a conviction or an acquittal - examine the cigarette end and the match stick, look if the ground under the wet body is dry and so on. Always read the translation - you can often get a CSD for spam that way - and Google a bit of it in quote marks, which can find you a copyvio. It's a long while since I've looked up a language with so few hits on Google. I find that I've prodded another of his efforts previously and he's been continually warned about posting in Foreign (and had a short block too), I've added his talk page to my watchlist, and may have to take action if he goes on. MOM image of Mars atmosphere

Supdiop, I'm sorry, but I've speedy deleted File:Martian atmosphere photographed by Mars Orbiter Mission Spacecraft.jpg. You stated that Twitter's policy meant the image was automatically in the public domain, but there are two concepts of public domain. One definition simply means an object is accessible by anyone...this is what Twitter is referring to. The other definition means that the work has been completely released from copyright, meaning the object is freely usable by anyone. This latter definition relates to how Wikipedia and Commons deal with licensing. In short, please don't confuse an image's existence on the Internet with it being in the public domain license-wise. You need to provide references to the articles, otherwise they will be deleted from wikipedia. If you add multiple reliable sources then we can know that it is notable and eligible for an article for itself on wikipedia. Next time you add an article, remember to add multiple sources. See Wikipedia:Verifiability. Wikipedia does not consider primary source as reliable source. Only independent sources are generally considered reliable. You can add news, books etc as sources. See identifing reliable sources

In the future, if you are creating an article, you should concentrate on finding reliable, independent sources first. I also want to remove vandalism and unconstructive edits. How do you find that many unconstructive edits? do you continually search articles or have a lots of pages in watchlist?

For me, editing is a lot of fun and so I enjoy reverting vandalism wherever I can find it. One easy way to look for vandalism is to manually watch the "Recent changes" page. (There's a link to it on the left-hand side of your Wikipedia page, under "Interaction".) Basically, you look through each edit and if you see one that is vandalism, you can undo it. I will say that this is a slow, time-consuming method, and you probably won't spot too much vandalism that way. Once you get more advanced, there are some very efficient semi-automated tools you can install that will help you revert vandalism and automatically warn the user on their talk page. However, they typically require special permissions to use.

Before getting involved in anti-vandalism work, I would strongly recommend reading the following document first: WP:VANDAL explains exactly what vandalism is, how to spot it, and what to do when you see it. Basically, you have to be very certain that what you're reverting is actually vandalism, or else you could cause an edit war, which can result in being blocked from Wikipedia for a period of time. (Edit: I should note that if you are reverting obvious vandalism, the three-revert rule does not apply. But you have to be very careful that what you're reverting is actually vandalism, as mentioned.) I took a look through your talk page history and noticed that you might have been involved in an edit war previously, so it's a good idea to be mindful of the rules and policies if you decide to get involved in counter-vandalism work.

A very good place to get started is the Counter-Vandalism Unit Academy. There are trainers there who can "adopt" you to teach you about how to fight vandalism. I'm happy to help out too in any way I can. Just remember to keep your wits about you; don't get caught up in the heat of the moment and get involved in an edit war! wia (talk) 23:40, 12 April 2015 (UTC)

Conflict of interest editing is strongly discouraged on wikipedia. Your product does not have an article. Disambiguation page is for list of articles with similar name but different meanings. You need to link to the article in disambiguation page. Since you don't have an article about it, there is no reason/use in adding it. The reason I didn't use the talk page immediately was I could concisely express the reason for reverting clearly in the edit summary. On the other hand, the edit summaries you left are rather extensive and maybe would have been better to express on a talk page.

Also please assume good faith. Saying, "You shouldn't be editing the article without any discussion on talk page" comes across as kind of aggressive. I honestly thought my edit wasn't controversial and that you would understand why. Obviously I was wrong but please lets be kind to each other :)

Yes, I did feel a bit uneasy about making the edit given the COI. I found if I follow the COI guidelines too rigorously then no one responds and nothing gets done, as was the case with the recent RFC I raised. So sometimes I find it useful to be a bit bold just to start a dialogue, but obviously I then mustn't push any issue beyond one edit on the affected article without seeking agreement and, if necessary, outside consensus.

If your bot or script is receiving the warning about this upcoming change (as seen at https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages ), it's time to fix your code!

• The simple solution is to simply include the "rawcontinue" parameter with your request to continue receiving the raw continuation data (example <https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages&rawcontinue=1>). No other code changes should be necessary.

If you looked at the discussion page you would have seen my explanation. The information is false and slanderous. It needs to be removed immediately. It's extremely shocking that you'd put this in the article. I've never seen anything this shockingly bad on Wikipedia before. Explanation against the sock-puppetry investigation

Hi Supdiop,

I am new to Wikipedia and was figuring out how to create a page on the site. The information was added to the page from my account and some during a logged out session. There were also multiple edits in the information during a logged out session (while I was figuring out how to add reference links on the page). I understand the importance of relevancy of information on Wikipedia, and apologize for violating any terms and conditions, although unintendedly. Please take or advise the necessary steps to resolve the issue, if any needed. @SnehaSharma.One: Editing while logged out to make problematic edits is considered sockpuppetry. You removed speedy deletion templates even after you were warned not to. According to spi clerk, your IP will be blocked for a day and you will get a warning. It is still a violation of policy even if you don't know. I suggest you to read policies and guidelines of wikipedia. You wrote a biography which did not have any reliable sources. User generated sources are not reliable including wikipedia. You should try to add independently published sources. Everything in a biography should have a source, if not, unsourced material will be removed immediately. Regarding List of ISRO missions

This is with regard to the article List of ISRO missions which you have created. No offence but I find it quite similar to the article List of Indian satellites and this section of the ISRO article. I think that it looks similar but is quite different. A person who wants to see the list of missions, should be able to find a complete list in one place, not from two different articles. List of Indian satellites is only for satellites not for missions other than satellites but in this article we can include all types of missions. I think the Future projects section in ISRO article should be rewritten to include only paragraph(s) that briefly explain what ISRO is planning to do in future. A person will easily find this article because I created many redirects like ISRO missions and Space missions of India. And also a person looking for missions will search for list of missions not for list of satellites. These are the merits and I can't think of any disadvantages. • Supdiop, I would advise against adding the script to the main page at this time. The list of users with rollback rights changes quite frequently and since you plan on updating this list manually, it is quite impossible to maintain the accuracy of the list at any given time. Amalthea has their own bot that does this for them. You'd probably need an automated script that does an api query like https://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allusers&augroup=rollbacker&aulimit=500&format=jsonfm&rawcontinue, converts it into the desired format and updates the list everyday. (From what I understand, max results for an api query is 500 for regular users and 5000 for admins/bots.) Also, since you are essentially using Amalthea's script, there is a matter of attribution/license - I don't know much about this, PrimeHunter or Redrose64 might be able to tell you more. - NQ (talk) 00:43, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

When I need a list of rollbackers - which isn't often - I click Special pages in the left sidebar, where under the heading "Users and rights" is a link Users. Use of templates

Hi Sudiop,

I am puzzled as to why you placed a COI warning template on my user page. It is not necessary because I have already declared a conflict of interest and I am also not a new editor who needs an explanation of the policy.

If it is related to the edit that you yourself made to the Brahma Kumaris article then you must understand that I did not create the content you appear to be objecting to and that templates are not to be used pre-emptively to discourage another editor from responding, if that was the idea.

If you feel the edit you made may be controversial, I suggest discussing it on the talk page of the article first. If you are editing tendentiously then that places you in a worse position than an editor who simply has a conflict of interest and you should definitely refrain from editing subjects about which you have strong feelings and are likely to make biased edits.

• What had the tendentious single purpose account done to earn the block?
• In what ways does WP:3RR apply to a user's own talk page? Is there any part of WP:TALK that would seem to run against WP:3RR?
• Are upstanding editors (even editors beloved by the site) exempt from rules such as WP:No personal attacks?
• If an actionable report is filed in the wrong place, should it be ignored?

We can have endless arguments on whether NOTNOW should have applied or not, but that contributes nothing to the building of the encyclopaedia. I have to recommend against doing that. There's a chance you might end up blocked for disrupting the site, and even if you don't (or it's only temporary), it will add several years to the time it will take to make people think you're ready to be an admin. You are correct that WP:NOTNOW is not about how much time one has been on the site, but it does very much have to do with one's behavior, and trying again would only justify the WP:NOTNOW votes. Honest explanations for my actions

I am going to tell you about my real and honest intentions behind my actions. I felt that I have to explain my actions because there were many misunderstandings between me and other editors.

Wikipedia needs more administrators, Signpost By Biblioworm, motivated me to run for Adminship. I knew that I will not pass but I thought that I will get some positive feedback and encouragement to relieve me from depression. I was thinking about leaving wikipedia. My real life situation is very bad. I was depressed and I felt helpless. After every failed RFA, some nice people will come to the talk page and write some encouraging words. I thought I will also get encouragement from the users, that's why I ran for RFA. That was very bad idea.

I created the RFA page and answered the questions. I transcluded the RFA and waited for the votes to come in. NE Ent suddenly removed my transclution from main RFA page. I reverted him by saying that I am not a new editor. Softlavender again removed my transclution without any edit summary. I reverted again. Editwarring started and softlavender posted editwarring notice on my talk page. At last Softlavender stopped reverting. This editwar totally devastated me. When Bbb23 first warned me about editwarring, I promised to myself that I will never edit war again. I controlled myself from edit warring many times and this time I lost control. I felt that all my hard work was wasted. I worked for wikipedia with full dedication and I always strived to be sincere. I wanted to withdraw my RFA but Cyberpower678 closed it as WP:SNOW, no problem there. I felt more depressed and angry after RFA than before. I just couldn't control myself. Those notnow opposes also contributed to the meltdown. After I said I will revert any changes to my talk page, Liz posted a good message. My heart didn't allow me to revert Liz's edit. I wanted to revert any edits to my talk page because I decided to leave wikipedia at that point and never ever come back. I asked Liz to block me indefinitely. I vandalised few articles to give admins a reason to block me in that frustration. SuperMarioMan blocked me for 31 hours, but I wanted to get indefinite block. I've got my talkpage access revoked after few minutes. All the series of events I mentioned above led me to lose control over my actions. I wouldn't have reacted like this if I wasn't suffering from depression. You must've seen my very low edit count in September, it was because of health problems. From last two months, I am suffering from depression due to real life problems.

During that 31 hours, I slowly started to think rationally and felt that I did a very big mistake.

After the block expired I started to edit normally. I gave Bbb23 a barnstar of humor because he made a funny joke. I wanted to become normal and tried to be jovial after the block.

I added a comment on Ian's RFA that he cannot delete main page even if he presses delete button. It was obviously a joke and I had a good laugh. In 2006, an admin told another admin the same thing. That admin tried it and deleted the main page. This was very famous incident at that time. My comment was removed. I was hoping some comments like lol or someone remembering that incident. But everyone thought I was disrupting. After the discussion on my talk page I stopped adding that joke.

I removed my Support vote on Ian's RFA because I made that vote as a test. I was testing my user script. I actually didn't read any answers on RFA and I didn't see any stats or things I usually see before voting. I asked a question to Ian and I thought I will vote after seeing his answer. But I was unable to vote because I was blocked for another 72 hours.

The real reason for posting "I want justice" on ANI is to discuss why NE Ent and Softlavender reverted my RFA transclution. I have the choice to run my RFA for any duration I wish. I didn't really mean to re-open or re-start the RFA. I know that it's illogical to re-open the RFA. I was not satisfied with ANI because it was closed, so I posted to RFA talk page again to discuss it with more editors. I was blocked again for doing this despite many editors advised against doing it. [3]

I did mistakes. I will try not to repeat them again. I am requesting you all to forgive me. I just wanted to let you all know my real intentions behind my actions. I don't want to hide anything. Sorry Ohnoitsjamie, If I were you, I would have also denied the request. I am really sorry, everyone.

I will forget everything that has happened in the last week and I will do my best to improve wikipedia which is our main aim. Thank you

(edit conflict) The whole affair was a mess and I wouldn't blame anyone in particular (mostly because I want to get some noodles and go to bed, but also because it really wouldn't help anyone). You probably won't get a lot of responses from this, because most of the people tagged will just want to move on with it. If you do so as well, this will look as though you are ending this chapter instead of prolonging it (and you're at a good ending right now).

Also, one thing I do recommend: while Wikipedia can be a good way to relieve some light-to-moderate real life stress, I know from experience that it is best to avoid the site (except maybe automated swatting of obvious and undeniable vandals) when everything just plain sucks. I personally avoid editing when I feel unusually stressed or angry, although I sometimes do so when feeling depressed. What I do is just take short breaks to clear my head, then dive back in. @Supdiop, in response to your off-wiki request for autopatrolled right, I am uncomfortable granting it for a couple of reasons. First, this is not one of the areas that I work in as an administrator, so I have little experience deciding whether to grant the right. Second, the policy page says you should have created at least 25 new articles before being eligible for the right. Have you done that? Third, if you're coming close to copyright violations in new articles, as pointed out by Anna Frodesiak, that is one of the things a reviewer looks at before marking a page as patrolled. Two suggestions: One you can go to WP:RFP/A and request the right in the normal way. I am now working on content creation. I created 15 articles. One was deleted because it was a test and I thought we could move articles from English wikipedia to other language wikipedia, that was my 2nd month on wikipedia, if you look at that article's history, you can see that it was incorrectly tagged for speedy deletion, it should have been author requested deletion. I know how wikipedia works and I know all major policies and guidelines of wikipedia. I think, I can be trusted with autopatrolled because I don't create articles which violate policies. I've got two DYKs. One will appear on main page soon. I may not be ready for adminship yet, but I am ready for autopatrolled right. I review drafts on AFC, I haven't got a single remark on my reviewing. I am looking to create many articles in next few days or weeks, patrollers don't have to review every article I create. close paraphrasings can be removed easily, but it takes some time. Supidop, simply rearranging things so Earwig's doesn't give a high percentage is not enough. For example:

• Yours: "The ceratal wall is transparent and body is opaque white."

• Source: "The body is opaque white, and the ceratal wall is transparent."

That is basically a copyvio.

Try this: Copy paste the source text to a notepad. Under the text, make a string of =============. Under that, start your stub. Write from scratch. It is not easy with species. I'm lousy at it and the result is often clumsy, nasty writing. I mean, how many ways are there to rewrite the above? The best, most expected way has already been chosen. But you have to try. I haven't reviewed you castle articles. You should. Anyhow, inspect some of my species articles and the sources to see how things can be written to avoid copyvios. Hi Supdiop, it's great to see you working at Articles for Creation. I saw you declined this submission, and quite rightfully so, but I always think when dealing with these types of pages that rather than stick a bland "This submission's references do not adequately show the subject's notability" tag at the top of the page, it's nice to tell people that they can talk about themselves on their userpages. I left a message for them at User talk:Ed2696 trying to say something to this effect, because it looked to me like they were just trying to write a userpage rather than an encyclopedic article. Hello there! Happy to be writing this newsletter once more. This month:

We did it!

In July, we launched five pilot WikiProjects: WikiProjects Cannabis, Evolutionary Biology, Ghana, Hampshire, and Women's Health. We also use the new design, named "WPX UI," on WikiProject Women in Technology, Women in Red, WikiProject Occupational Safety and Health. We are currently looking for projects for the next round of testing. If you are interested, please sign up on the Pilots page.

Shortly after our launch we presented at Wikimania 2015. Our slides are on Wikimedia Commons.

Then after all that work, we went through the process of figuring out whether we accomplished our goal. We reached out to participants on the redesigned WikiProjects, and we asked them to complete a survey. (If you filled out your survey—thank you!) While there are still some issues with the WikiProject tools and the new design, there appears to be general satisfaction (at least among those who responded). The results of the survey and more are documented in our grant report filed with the Wikimedia Foundation.

The work continues!

There is more work that needs to be done, so we have applied for a renewal of our grant. Comments on the proposal are welcome. We would like to improve what we have already started on the English Wikipedia and to also expand to Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata. Why those? Because they are multilingual projects and because there needs to be better coordination across Wikimedia projects. More details are available in the renewal proposal.

How can the Wikimedia Foundation support WikiProjects?

The Wikimedia Developer Summit will be held in San Francisco in January 2016. The recently established Community Tech team at the Wikimedia Foundation is interested in investigating what technical support they can provide for WikiProjects, i.e., support beyond just templates and bots. I have plenty of opinions myself, but I want to hear what you think. The session is being planned on Phabricator, the Wikimedia bug tracker. If you are not familiar with Phabricator, you can log in with your Wikipedia username and password through the "Login or Register: MediaWiki" button on the login page. Your feedback can help make editing Wikipedia a better experience.

Hello, Supdiop,
I see you are actively archiving WP:ANI but please do not do so hastily. If a complaint is closed, please wait at least 12 hours (and 24 hours is better) before archiving it so that those editors who participated in the discussion have a chance to see how the case was resolved. If archived too quickly, it can result in one of the parties "unarchiving" the case because they don't believe or accept that it has been resolved which can cause disorder both on the archive page and on ANI. Agree. You need to wait at least 24 hours so that all parties concerned can view the result of the discussion, no matter what their time zone or sleeping patterns. 24 hours gives everyone a chance to view it during their awake hours. To make sure you have waited at least 24 hours, Google utc time and then subtract one day from that, and don't archive anything closed later than that. Thank you. Supdiop, it is good, but not OK. Have a look at WP:SIGLEN - having lengthy markup does cause a lot of trouble. Also, see WP:SIGAPP - using the "big" markup awkwardly increases the space between three successive lines. Yash! 08:02, 3 November 2015 (UTC)

Yes, it looks pretty good now. BTW, if you remove "font-size: 75%;" and use '''Sign''' instead of "font-weight: bold", you can further reduce the number of characters. Over at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Optional RfA candidate poll, it says "You can opt to accompany your score with a short, one-sentence comment; please leave any detailed feedback on the user's talk page", so I thought I'd add a few more words here. My one sentence summary might sound a bit harsh, but I would be doing you a disservice if I was not completely honest with you, and I'm quite certain that most people seeing your inclusion at that page would feel similarly. I see you have offered an explanation and apology above, and you are to be commended for that. But words are not sufficient, and I'd say you need to demonstrate a year or two of mature behaviour before you would have any chance in a second run at RfA (and in that time, just keep up the good work you are doing, and completely forget about adminship and make no mention of it anywhere lest you be seen as an overenthusiastic hat collector). At the moment, you have absolutely no chance whatsoever of succeeding at RfA, and I just feel your best interests would be served by your fully understanding that. • PS: I want to add that I have experience of depression in my family with a family member so bad they were praying to die every night before they woke. At the time I saw many well-meaning people pussy-footing around it, pretending nothing was wrong, and trying to say that everything was fine and dandy. But I think that only made things worse, as the person is too intelligent to swallow any of that nonsense and it really didn't help. What did help was being honest and facing the problem, and getting the proper help for it.
